Thoughts

The movie begins with a sleeping hunk name James and while his wife is freaking out about a noise in the house. Kristen goes downstairs and finds an intruder in the house. She screams for help and then we get the title card.

James and Kristen are recently married. He just moved in and asked his new wife to let his mother with diabetes move in as well. Mara, Kristen’s daughter from a previous marriage, loves doing yoga while having serious conversations. She worries that Kristen is moving too fast, and so soon after stalker attacked her. But, who gets stalked twice, right?

When Maggie arrives, she looks like she is straight out of Driving Mrs. Daisy. She is averse to having her photos taken, calls Kristen’s house tacky, and questions where she gets all her money from… implying she is a golddigger. James comforts his new bride and tells her not to worry.

Kristen takes some time for herself with some therapy. Her therapist, Jackée Harry, acknowledges Kristen’s feelings and her concerns about the stalker. Jackée Harry is going through a divorce herself. In a parking lot, Kristen sees someone following her and gets creepy phone calls at work. Her hot co-worker Steve tries to calm her down.

Maggie is the most out-of-touch woman in the world. She thinks Mara calling her boyfriend Michael her “Boo because he is a ghost. Then she balks at Kristen going to therapy.

On their date, Mara defends her mother’s paranoia and gets angry with Michael when he pushes for Mara to move in with him. Mara blames herself for not being home when the stalker broke into the house… she was out playing beer pong. They agree that they like James and he is a net positive, even if his mother is out of touch.

Kristen tries to bond with Maggie, but she is a long-lost Golden Girl or a drag queen because THE LIBRARY IS OPEN! Maggie reads Kristen while playing Solitare. Every line this womans said is rude AF. Mara tells Maggie to be more kind and speaks the truth. The two come to an understanding.

The stalking continues, and it starts interfering with Kristen’s job. She has panic attacks and loses clients. She meets with Jackée Harry, who thinks it is unlikely that Kristen is being stalked twice but tries to be understanding. Jackée Harry advises Kristen to call her or the police if anything happens again.

James and Maggie meet up with the hot stalker at a bar. She doesn’t need the walker and isn’t sick. She isn’t even related to James. Wow. They are of course, doing it all for money and found Kristen from a blog post. (Eeek! This is a blog post. Please don’t stalk me.) The hot stalker demands more money and is stabbed.

Back at home, Kristen makes out with a shirtless James with the door wide open. Then they go to bed. James takes a pill out of his crotch and puts it into Mara’s water glass by her bed while she brushes her teeth. The sedative knocks Mara out. Giving Maggie the freedom to sneak downstairs and fake a home invasion.

We are back at the beginning of the movie, where Kristen was attempting to wake up her sleeping husband. Kristen heads downstairs and sees the door open, and frantically calls the police. Then she freaks the fuck out. Kristen is put in a temporary insanity home.

Maggie is pissed at James because Kristen wasn’t admitted into the psych ward due to James calming her down. They try to win Mara over, so she won’t be onto them., but Mara is.

Mara goes to Jackée Harry, and they recruit her ex-husband, Ross, to do some detective work. Then Mara looks up diabetes on the internet and does some snooping in Maggie’s room. She finds some medication. Mara then visits her mother in the group home and hears her out. Mara promises to help her mother figure out what is going on.

Ross trails James and Maggie and hides in the bushes. He follows them to a restaurant where they are meeting Mara. Mara asks a lot of questions and confronts Maggie’s behavior. They say “Flippin”… a lot.

Detective Ross breaks into the house. He calls Jackée Harry and leaves a message that Maggie and James are not who they say they are. Maggie catches him, and James kills the detective. Maggie decides to pack up their operation and get the hell out of town. Mara and Michael catch them leaving the house.

James takes Michael out with chloroform and develops a Boston accent out of nowhere. Mara sees Maggie walking and knows that are cons. She grabs a jewelry box and makes a run for it until she sees Michael and tries to save him. Maggie pulls out a gun, but Kristen shows up and distracts Maggie. James pushes Kristen out of the way and takes a bullet for her.

Jackée Harry shows up and doesn’t care about her husband being dead. They all wonder where Maggie went. Oh well!

One year later, Maggie is working a new con. This time with a blonde lady.

Side Note

Minority Report: Denise, Max, Michael, Steve, Cheryl,

The movie is directed by David DeCoteau (Of “The Wrong” series.), which explains the horniness and pitch-perfect Lifetime tone.
