Synopsis (via Lifetime)

After stepmother and family matriarch, Robin, is returned after being kidnapped, the Jones women face their hardest challenges yet to keeping their business and their family intact.. (2021)

The movie begins with a recap of the first two movies, which I appreciated.

Tara shows her sister Pam photos of the woman who drugged her. Pam is like, baby girl. That is Maria (You remember Carlos’ sister seeking revenge for his murder.

Flash to two weeks earlier, and the sisters all receive blackmail via text. My favorite is Kayla, who cries in bed watching the video over and over on her phone. Tara decides to figure out who is blackmailing. She watched a Ted-talk once and is an expert.

Pam meets with Eric Roberts at a fancy dinner, and he tells her that he was also blackmailed. Pam ponders this while sipping her wine and asks him to look into who is buying the property that The Joneses lost out on.

Remember, Ms. Vivica was kidnapped in the last movie. She claims to have been blackmailed too. That is why she was so calm in the video surveillance footage. Then she sees Maria in the video footage hiding in the bushes.

Lance and his father, Webb, are at odds. Webb even goes as far as to say he wishes he smothered Lance IN HIS CRIB. I’m not sure if these two are working. He sees Ms. Vivica A. Fox meeting with his father and tells Carrie that she is hiding something.

Pam gets William arrested with the help of Tara. They get him on financial trading and then bail him out to remind him who is boss. William won’t bother them anymore, especially since Kayla is done with him.

Tara tracks Maria down to the exact same club where they met. She tases Maria and brings her to a hotel, and threatens Maria into talking. Then she tells her sister that Maria was seeking revenge, and the sisters are all like, “Get over it, Maria, we murdered your brother. Whatever!”

Maria talks with Sheldon and tells him that Tara got the info out of her. He poisons Maria, and we get an EPIC death scene. The sisters get a call in the middle of the night, and the mystery caller says Ms. Vivica A Fox is married to Sheldon and did so acquire the land from the Joneses.

Ms. Vivica A Fox enjoys some romantic time with Webb on his boat. He wants to sail away with her, and she tells him that he needs to be realistic. Sheldon calls Webb while he is on the boat, and they talk business. Ms. Vivica seems like she is in on it, but I’m not buying that.

Eric Roberts comes back and tells Pam about Webb being a bad guy. She looks at old photos while Tara goes to the library. They piece things together and call a sister meeting. Pam talks to the family driver Authur and asks about her father’s car accident. He tells her that Webb and Pam’s father were arguing.

Ms. Vivica A Fox blames Webb for causing the car accident and hits Webb over the head with a champagne bottle. She was just doing all this to get revenge for her husband. Ms. Vivica lays it all out for the sisters. The sisters have an appreciation for their stepmother that they didn’t before. She has their best interest at heart.

Side Note

Minority Report: The cast consists of Black, LatinX, and Asian actors in most principal & speaking roles.
