Synopsis (via Hallmark)

During the Seaside Noel celebrations Christina learns of a developer who is planning to tear down the wharf that is home to her toy store. Tensions rise as she falls for the developer’s son, Andy.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie begins in seaside Nantucket 8 days until Christmas. Christina owns a kitschy toy shop on the boardwalk.

Andy is a commercial realtor who is picking up his daughter, Wink, from his ex-wife. Andy visits Nantucket to visit his allying father AND reinvitilitze the boardwalk storefronts. (Most likely by raising the rent!)

The two run into one another literally while Andy is on the phone. While he is distracted, Wink browses Christina’s store and steals a toy mermaid. (What did he expect naming her Wink, of course, she is going to act out! Christina catches her and tells Andy, who is upset his daughter is a thief.

Christina and her fellow store owners learn about Andy and his father’s plan to demolish the marina and build a new one. Christina confronts them at a bot parade, and it doesn’t go well.

Christina overhears Wink complaining about not having a Christmas tree at home and feeling neglected by her busy father. Andy agrees to let Wink help out at the toy store he will be demolishing soon to pay Christina back for the whole mermaid stealing thing. Christina cheers her up with music and gift wrapping until they blow a fuse.

Andy helps get the power back on and suggests that Christina relocate her store to Main Street. To repay him for helping her, Christina takes the father and daughter Christmas tree shopping and even helps them decorate it. Andy’s father, Oscar, is upset and maybe hates Christmas, or at least hates Christina.

Oscar convinces some of the business owners to sell their storefronts, everyone except Christina. He refuses to talk to Christina and asks Andy to persuade her to sell. Andy doesn’t do too much convincing. He more flirts with her and finds out about her mother, who used to own the shop.

A gingerbread house contest happens. Andy, Wink, and Christina win. The town thinks that Christina and Andy are dating and might sell the toy store. Even Christina’s best friend considers selling her bakery to give her daughter a better life.

Christina denies having feelings for Andy, yet she takes him on a fireside romantic smore making date. Christina talks about her ex, and then they laugh about how everyone in town thinks they are dating. Then they make out.

It is time for the annual snowball, and everyone is dressed in cocktail attire in the middle of the day. Christina dances with Andy and then apologizes to Oscar. Christina pitches her ideas, and Oscar accuses her of seducing his son to manipulate him into siding with her. The man is not budging and tells her that his decision is final.

Christina cries by the ocean and apologizes to her mother for losing the family store.

Oscar comes around and decides to retire and leave Andy with the revitalization. He still plans on kicking Christina out, so she decides to buy a building with Molly and combine their stores.

Andy plans to stay in town and start a life with Christina at least until the building project is done!

  1. I think this is the most over the top bad Hallmark movie I can remember seeing. I couldn’t believe it! What were they thinking???? What must Trevor Donovan have been feeling, trudging his way through this? I hope he was humiliated enough to avoid saying yes to another one like this.
