Synopsis (via Lifetime)

When nanny Kim accidentally discovers that her employer, Steven, is having an affair with his kids’ Spanish tutor, she decides to keep it to herself so as not to risk splitting his family apart. But when Steven’s mistress is murdered and he tells the police that he hasn’t seen her in months, Kim realizes she’s the only person who knows he’s lying and she’s determined to learn why.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie starts with a Halloween-esque scene where a killer stabs at a blonde babysitter through closet paneling.

Cut to a sunny day with attractive college co-eds strolling around with backpacks. Kimberley tells her hunk friend Gabe that she is applying to be a nanny over the summer to help pay for her housing since her roommate will be gone.

During the interview, Caroline (Played by Lifetime VIP Laurie Fortier) is quick to spill the tea about the neighborhood and shade her husband, Steven. (Who is late to the interview.) Kimberly gets the gig and finds out she is replacing Caroline’s sister Britt. (Who wasn’t responsible enough for the job.)

On her first day, Kimberly decides to bring over some ice cream as a treat for Jasper. Caroline gives her the go-ahead to show up early for work but can’t meet her at home because she is on her way out of town. Kimberly, naturally, finds Steven cheating on his wife when she walks in. Kimberly hides in the house and escapes undetected, except for the ice cream on the kitchen counter.

The day leaves Kimberly frazzled, and she vents to Gabe. He tells her not to tell Caroline about what she saw.

Serena, the hussy, does some night yoga. Her ex-boyfriend Nick is upset that she broke up with him to have an affair with a married man. Nick texts her incessantly and is the number one suspect when Serena is murdered next to a carousel.

Detectives question Steve because Serena was his Spanish tutor. Kimberly overhears the questioning and wonders if she should come forward. On her way home from work, she is run off the road.

Jasper draws some disturbing pictures of his Aunt Britt at school. The teacher brings her concerns to Kimberly. She doesn’t want to tell the parents, but Gabe calls the cops on Steven because he is concerned about Kimberley’s work environment.

Steven answers more questions about his affair and tells Kimberly he is going to have to fire her, but he thanks her for at least not telling his wife.

Gabe tries to apologize to Kimberly, but she won’t even let him in her house, which is too bad because there is a killer inside with a knife. Here is where we get the Halloween closet scene. Kimberley calls Gabe for help, and he rescues her.

Caroline finally learns about the murder and decides to come home from her work trip to see what is happening. Kimberly has to decide if she is going to tell Caroline the truth.

Aunt Britt shows up while Kimberly is watching Jasper and frantically tries to warn them that they are in danger. Kimberly calls the detective. He tells them to back a bag and go somewhere safe, but safe from who?

Kimberly and Jasper stay with Gabe for the night. She calls Caroline’s hotel, and they tell her that she never checked in. Caroline finally calls back and seems VERY interested in where Kimberly is but vague about where she is.

Gabe and Kimberly realize that Caroline never left town and attempt to call the detective, but Caroline stops them with a gun.

Caroline reveals her master plan was to kill Serena and pin it on her boyfriend. The pressure of being a perfect wife and mother was too much for her. Caroline now plans to kill Caroline and Gabe to incriminate her sister, who knows too much. Aunt Britt rescues them and kicks her sister in the face. YIKES!

Six months later, Kimberly meets Jasper and Steven in a park. We learn that he is divorced and maybe has shared custody? They ask Kimberly to stay on as an afterschool nanny, and she agrees.
