Synopsis (via Hallmark)
Two seemingly incompatible game designers team up to create a romantic, city-wide scavenger hunt themed for the “12 Days of Christmas.”
Thoughts
Office worker Jen bakes cookies for her co-workers and tries to stop her roommate, Claire, from eating them all. She creates apps and wants to create the next big game. When Bill’s wife goes into Labor, Jennifer is called in to make a big pitch to Wanda with a hunky co-worker named Aiden. They come up with the 12 Days of Christmas to help launch the app. Jennifer gets all the credit.
Aiden doesn’t like working with anyone but his work husband, Bill. He refuses to learn Jennifer’s name and calls her “Iowa.” (Which is super rude.) He also makes fun of her Christmas decorations and turns down her baked goods. They make pitches while he cuddles a stuffed snowman.
The cookies eventually work on Aiden, and he starts collaborating with him over a romantic lunch at a fine-dining restaurant. They brainstorm over pear cider and painting classes. They try out dates and take selfies at each one, like cooking classes and rolling yule logs. (If Jen doesn’t want to date him, I will!)
Decorating, wreath arts and crafts, and Christmas tree shopping happen. They decorate the tree and go ice skating. The movie is wrapping up, so they have to get all the Christmas tropes in there at the end. The romance is ruined when they both realize that they want the same promotion. (He has to fix his sister’s house before it is condemned!)
The pitch goes very well, and Wanda is impressed. Aiden is offered the promotion, and he tells his boss that he thinks Jennifer should get it. Alastair, the boss, tells him that she already is, and he gives Aiden one too. Because it is Christmas and WHY NOT!
At the final event of the 12 dates of Christmas, Jennifer and Aiden are dressed beautifully. She learns about her promotion and celebrates with a Christmas kiss with Aiden on their 13th date!
