Synopsis (via Lifetime)
Paramedic Carrie responds to a car accident and is devastated to find her fiancé, Timothy, behind the wheel. The situation turns sinister when another woman at the scene claims to be his wife. Following Timothy’s death and a subsequent murder ruling, Carrie is pulled into a twisted web of secret families, threats, and lies.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Carrie and her boyfriend, Timothy, are enjoying a picnic with wine when he pops the question and opens a bottle of champagne because she says yes!
Carrie is an EMT and is planning her summer wedding immediately. Carrie is in the middle of asking Nina, her partner, to be her maid of honor when a call comes in for a vehicle-versus-pedestrian. The woman in the car is screaming that her husband has been injured, but the man she is talking about is Timothy. Timothy is already married to another woman.
Even still, Carrie stands by her man; the only problem is that his wife of 20 years, Brianna, does too. They have an awkward conversation in his hospital room, but Brianna is legally his wife and gets to stay.
Timothy has a whole other family: his teenage daughter Sophie, his mother, Laurel, and his brother, Noah. Someone breaks into his room and puts something in his IV. He doesn’t live through the night, and the ladies argue in the parking lot about who has the right to grieve.
Nina, the ever-supportive friend, suggests that Carrie call her ex-boyfriend Kyle to help look into what the hell is going on. He suggests foul play.
Uncle Noah takes in Sophie while she’s dealing with some serious teen angst. Noah calls Carrie and asks her to meet and talk about his brother. He tells Carrie that Tim’s wife was stalking him and he was about to end things. Noah gives her a flash drive with a video. It shows Brianna popping off on Timothy and threatening to kill him. YIKES! Someone call a married counselor.
Brianna and Carrie sit down and come to an understanding, but Sophie is still unhinged. She breaks into Carrie’s house and snoops around. She is almost caught in the act but manages to get out mostly undetected. (Sophie steals a shirt and breaks a photo frame.)
Carrie shows Kyle the video and a note she finds from Brianna proving she knew Timothy was having an affair. Kyle shows Carrie some footage of Timothy arguing with a woman wearing a unique purse. So now I’m looking at everyone’s accessories.
Noah is next to kick the bucket, and Carrie finds the body. The timing is suspect because Noah was about to give a statement to the police.
Nina waltzes in with the bag from the security video, and Carrie freaks out. Brianna and Carrie work together to try and entrap Nina into admitting she was involved with Timothy’s death. Nina admits she found out about the affair and gave him an ultimatum to tell Carrie or else!
Kyle shows up with news on the case, and it turns out he isn’t quite over Carrie and wants to get back together. He admits he moved back to town and looked up Carrie. He was trailing Timothy and caused the accident. When Noah pieced things together, he was the next to go.
Brianna’s cellphone records the whole conversation because she left it when they were trying to get Nina to confess. Brianna returns for her phone and notices something is off. She shoots Kyle, and they rush to safety, but he chases after them before getting arrested.
Carrie and Brianna go for a hike and become friends! The End!
STRAY Thought
Imagine finding a cute purse, and it causes you to be a murder suspect! The audacity!
