Lifetime & Hallmark TV Christmas Movie Roundup (2019)

This is WILD! I am in totally shock and delight that both TV networks have released their holiday movie lineups. (Well Lifetime is keeping tightliped about three of their movies… I’m thinking one will be “The Wrong Christmas” starring Ms. Vivica A Fox.)

Lifetime (28) and Hallmark (40) have gone above and beyond to give everyone cheer and jeers during the holiday season. I hope someone gets me an advent wine calendar because I am going to be a BUSY gay. Let me know what movies your excited about or ones that you would “Put a Cork In It,” Happy Holidays! (In September)

We will update as more information becomes available!

Don’t forget to listen to the Lifetime Uncorked Podcast available on iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, where you listen to podcast!

Sweet Mountain Christmas

Premieres: October 25, 8/7c on Lifetime

Stars: Megan Hilty & Marcus Rosner

Synopsis (Via Lifetime)

When Laney Blue’s (played by Megan Hilty) country music career took off, she ditched her not-so-nice hometown for something bigger. While making a quick trip to see her family for the holidays, a blizzard derails her Christmas plans, forcing her to stick around the town — and the people, including a snowplow driver named Robbie (played by Marcus Rosner) — she left behind.

Thoughts

Megan Hilty is having a banner year on Lifetime. First the Patsy Cline movie and now a Christmas movie where she lives in a “not-so-nice hometown”?!? Plus, she is playing a country singer… so I’d imagine she will be signing. “Pour it Up!”

A Merry Christmas Match

Premieres: October 25th, 9/8c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Stars:  Ashley Newbrough, Kyle Dean Massey, Lindsey Gort

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

Corey who works in her mom’s antique shop, puts on a Christmas pageant in honor of her late father. When a man named Ryder visits her store, she wonders if she should have left town to follow her dream of becoming a theater director.

Thoughts

Wow. This synopsis is very bad. How do any of these things correlate with one another? I also don’t know these actors and don’t care. “Put a Cork in It.”

The Road Home for Christmas

Premieres: October 26, 8/7c on Lifetime

Stars: Marla Sokoloff, Marie Osmond, Jacob Young, Rob Mayes

Synopsis (Via Lifetime)

Two rival musicians, Lindsay and Wes who perform in a dueling piano show, suddenly find themselves without a gig on Christmas Eve and decide to road trip to their neighboring hometowns together.

Thoughts

Could Marla Sokoloff be the next Full House alum, vying for Lori Loughlin TV movie crown? I’m thinking probs not. That crow will go to Candace. Can we talk about Marie Osmond being a photoshopped nightmare in this poster? This movie also features dueling pianos?  “Put a Cork in it”

Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses

Premieres: October 26th, 8/7c on Hallmark Channel

Stars: Jill WagnerMatthew Davis

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

Single mom Abbey (Jill Wagner) takes a leap of faith to pursue her passion for interior design. When she gets hired to decorate the estate of local businessman Nick (Matthew Davis), Abbey must complete the job by Christmas Eve. With the holidays fast approaching, Abbey must figure out how to break down the wall between her and Nick, as this could be the opportunity that jump-starts her career.

Thoughts

I enjoy that Jill Wagner’s character is a woman who has career aspirations. Since interior design can be done ANYWHERE, maybe she won’t have to leave her job for a man. Hope my Christmas wish comes true. “Let it Breathe.”

No Time Like Christmas

Premieres: October 27th, 8/7c on Lifetime

Stars: Kyla Pratt

Synopsis (Via Lifetime)

After Emma finds her college boyfriend’s engraved watch at a vintage jewelry shop, her sister Bronwyn believes it is a sign, and decides to secretly play Cupid by sending Emma to the same bed and breakfast in Vermont that Fletcher is staying at one week before Christmas. However, upon arrival, Emma is not only shocked to bump into her first love after all these years, but also his vivacious daughter. Throughout the week, the two fight their feelings for one another as they plan a Christmas Eve show in hopes of saving the local theater.

Thoughts

Kyla Pratt is a cutie. This movie on the other hand is one tired cliche after another. Long lost loves, saving a theater, secretly playing cupid… oh boy. “Put a Cork in it.”

Nostalgic Christmas

Premieres: October 31st, 9/8c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Stars:  Brooke D’Orsay, Trevor Donovan, Chad Willett

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

None… yet.

Thoughts

No synopsis has me nervous. Trevor Donovan is a cutie and Brooke D’Orsay is reliably annoying. “Let it Breathe.”

Named after a lyric from “The 12 Days of Christmas,” Dr. Sharon Hayes (Nikki DeLoach) searches for a beloved family heirloom in a small Christmas town. When she unexpectedly discovers an adorable little girl and her disheartened father (Michael Rady), she realizes that Christmas miracles really do happen.

Thoughts

A rare Hallmark Christmas movie with out “Christmas” in the title. Glad Nikki DeLoach is playing a doctor, I didn’t know Hallmark let women be doctors. This movie also has a widower and his adorable daughter and was written and directed by females? “Pour it Up!”

Christmas Reservations

But when her college sweetheart, (Chavira) now widowed with two children, checks in, Holly discovers she has her own reservations about life and love.

Thoughts

Melissa Joan Hart is one of my all time Christmas favorites. She is over the top and super cheesy, but isn’t that what Christmas is all about… and JESUS! Plus, you have Marie Post from Night Court! and Michael Gross from Family Tides! “Pour It Up!”

Merry & Bright

Premieres: November 2nd, 8/7c on Lifetime

Stars: Jodie Sweetin & Andrew Walker

Synopsis (Via Lifetime)

Cate (Jodie Sweetin), CEO of the Merry & Bright Candy Cane Company, meets Gabe (Andrew Walker) during the busy Christmas season. As Cate and Gabe begin to work together, they find ways to elevate the business and find that they have more in common than savvy business sense..

Thoughts

Is it weird that I feel like a Candy Cane factory has never been explored before? Like it MUST have, but I can’t think of any Christmas movies that have. An original twist and two very attractive white people? What is not to love! “Pour It Up!”

Forever Christmas (Or Always and Forever Christmas)

Thoughts

Beth Broderick is a good start for any TV movie. Add some literal Christmas magic and you can’t go wrong. “Pour it Up”

A Christmas Scavenger Hunt

Stars: Tom Arnold, Kevin McGarry, Kim Shaw

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

When Belinda (Kim Shaw) heads back to her hometown for the holidays, things get complicated when she is forced to team up with her ex, Dustin (Kevin McGarry), at the town’s annual Christmas scavenger hunt..

Photo from Frozen in Love (Hallmark 2019)

A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas

Premieres: Nov 7th, 9/8c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Stars:  Rachael Leigh Cook and Benjamin Ayres

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

No Synopsis… yet

Thoughts

I read somewhere that a Hallmark movie was filming at Dollywood. If that is this movie then “Pour it Up!” I actually think that movie had Winnie Cooper in it, so I am going to have to “Put a Cork in it”

Holiday for Heroes

Premieres: Nov 8th, 9/8c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Stars:  Melissa Claire Egan, Marc Blucas, Latarsha Rose

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

A woman (Melissa Claire Egan) and a soldier (Marc Blucas) exchange letters for a year before their worlds collide.

Thoughts

Who is this Fran Drescher knock off? Marc Blucas playing a soldier works well and I love America. So…“Pour it Up!”

Stars: Keshia Knight Pulliam, Michael Xavier, Nakai Takawira

Synopsis (Via Lifetime)

Along the way, she discovers the true meaning of family, community, love and of course, Christmas.

Thoughts

I can’t support Keshia Knight Pulliam and her Cosby supporting self. “Put a Cork in it”

Picture a Perfect Christmas

Premieres: November 9th, 8/7c on Hallmark

Stars: Merritt Patterson and Jon Cor

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

Starring Merritt Patterson and Jon Cor, the movie centers around an extreme sports photographer who returns home for the holiday to look after her grandmother and ends up lending a helping hand to a neighbor who needs assistance watching his nephew.

Thoughts

EXTREME SPORTS??? Haha. This is amazing. I’d need to see some of that for this to really work for me. “Let it Breathe”

A Sweet Christmas

Premieres: November 10th, 8/7c on Lifetime

Stars: Loretta Devine, Adelaide Kane, Greyston Holt

Synopsis (Via Lifetime)

When food stylist Holly (Kane) returns home for Christmas, she learns that Loretta (Devine), the elderly owner of her favorite childhood bakery, is retiring and has started a contest to give the bakery away to whoever can recreate her famous 12 Days of Christmas recipes. Holly enters, despite not being much of cook. When a local baker named Brad (Holt) also enters the contest, the two adversaries end up cooking up something special together for the holidays

Thoughts

It is RUDE to call Loretta Devine is referred to as “elderly” in this synopsis. Baking contest movies never really turn out that well, they always seem a little… underbaked. “Let it Breathe.”

The Mistletoe Secret

Stars: Kellie Pickler, Tyler Hynes, Christopher Russell, & Patrick Duffy

Alex finally finds his LBH, a woman who is as beautiful and kind as he imagined she would be. How can he tell her that he knows her secret? What’s holding him back? Could it be his feelings for Aria?

Thoughts

Kellie Picker is a bonafide Hallmark Movie star. Christmas in Graceland was the most viewed movie of last Christmas. Even though she couldn’t act. This one might be a so bad it is good. “Pour it Up!”

A Christmas Miracle

Emily comes up with an ingenious plan to buy out her sister’s shares and hold an online holiday ice cream flavor contest that goes viral with the help of a key ingredient, Charlie’s amazing apple pie. Christmas a la Mode ice cream is born! Still as the Christmas Eve deadline for the buyout approaches, Emily needs a Christmas miracle to save the farm and her father’s legacy in time for a happy Christmas.

Thoughts

Topical because dairy farms are actually running into hard times. I’m also excited about Katie Leclerc being in her first TV Christmas movie. Katie is hard of hearing; she suffers from Meniere’s disease. She will be the first actress with a disability to play a romantic lead. “Pour it Up!”

Thoughts

Not to be confused with last year’s Christmas Contract, this Louisiana based movie has an interracial romance. Hallmark would never. “Pour it Up”

Synopsis (Via Hallmark)

A Graceland tour guide meets a single father during a tour and agrees to fill in as his temporary nanny for the holidays.

Thoughts

The Graceland series of movies is a bit contrived. Especially when we get into tours featured in the movie. “Let it Breathe”

But as Christmas nears, Faith begins to wonder if Andrew is really perfect for her, or if the wish is leading her to her best friend, Wyatt.

Rachel will have to work with Luke Hakman, Dollywood’s entertainment director who sees the holiday show as a stepping stone to become the park’s new general manager.

Nina (Guill), a pilot, reluctantly agrees to let her arrogant but charming fellow pilot, Brady (Sevier), stay at her nearby parents’ home. But when they discover her family is hosting a tree trimming party that night and that her ex will be there, Brady pretends to be her boyfriend to help her out. When the snowstorm continues, their ruse snowballs as Nina and Brady are stuck attending holiday events together. But as Christmas nears, these two opposites begin to realize the best gift they could ever receive, is perhaps, each other.
