Synopsis (via Hallmark)

While throwing a “Christmas Around the World” party at her family’s inn, an event planner discovers Christmas magic with a charming father-son duo whose presence brings about tension and joy. Starring Janel Parrish and Ryan Paevey.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

Event planner Paige Parker believes that the “early bird gets the fresh coffee,” so that is pretty much all you need to know about her. She is, of course, up for a promotion. When she finds out that her parents have dropped the ball on Christmas planning for their lodge Coyote Creek, she offers to go all out to boost her work portfolio.

Dylan and his precocious/gay son, Noah, are both at a work event making deals. The father and son head to the Coyote Creek lodge to evaluate the property for sale. Paige’s parents haven’t told her about the potential sale and ask Dylan to keep it hush-hush.

Paige and her best friend Quinn plan the holiday events while walking around town and sipping hot chocolate. They run into musician Mia, and Quinn is awkward because she has a crush on Mia. Paige makes a big pitch for the holiday theme. (They go with Christmas Around the World or something.) Then they have a lot of meetings planning out the to-dos of the holiday season. The team seems unenthusiastic because Paige makes everything a little too overplanned.

Then she meets Dylan and Noah. Dylan is quick to point out her high-strung personality, and Paige defends herself calling saying that she is goal-oriented and has high standards. (Which is appreciated!) The three shops for Christmas trees and then decorate said trees. Noah loves decorating because he doesn’t get the opportunity to celebrate Christmas traditions due to a life on the road. Quinn pushes Paige to get with Dylan because he is cute even though he isn’t her type. (But he is my type!)

Paige, Dylan, and Noah are put into more holiday traditions, including Cookie tasting (Dylan suggests making Pfeffernusse cookies for the holiday party.) They decorate cookies, and Dylan encourages Paige to “go crazy,” she struggles to let go of perfection.

Paige decides to ask them about their Christmas traditions to get a better idea of how the inn guests spend Christmas. She plans to incorporate them into the party.

Dylan asks Paige’s parents to talk to their daughter soon. He feels like he is lying to Paige about his reasons for being there. They sit down with Paige to tell her, and she thinks they are asking her to run the inn. (So that couldn’t have gone worse!) Paige seems onboard with the idea and makes an impassioned speech about keeping the inn in the family.

Quinn asks Mia to perform at the inn Christmas party, but Mia hopes that Quinn will just ask her out. (Haha, come on, Quinn! You can do it!)

Paige takes a call at the reception desk, and it is Dylan’s co-worker/Brother calling about the sale of the inn. She knows Dylan’s real reasons for being in town and feels betrayed. Paige yells at her parents for not telling her that it is the LAST CHRISTMAS IN COYOTE CREEK!!!!!

With the final holiday party looming, Paige doubles down on the micromanaging. Dylan offers to help, and Paige reluctantly agrees. He apologizes and says that he wished they met under different circumstances.

Paige realizes she has been focusing on celebrating traditions worldwide; she forgot about Christmas at Coyote Creek! Paige refocuses on the memories of the guests.

Meanwhile, Dylan tries to cancel the sale, but his brother won’t let them. They plan to tear down the inn and replace it with a hotel with wi-fi and hot tubs. (Sounds good to me!) Dylan and Noah leave before the big party.

Paige submits her portfolio, but she isn’t sure that she wants to keep climbing the corporate ladder anymore. It’s too bad because the party is a huge success. (Mia sings “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” in a HUGE floppy hat.)

Dylan returns and tells Paige that he is sorry and he stopped the sale of the inn and wants to stay with Paige and get to know her better as they (maybe) run the inn together. He wants to know a few random things.

  1. How she likes her eggs
  2. Where she was when she first heard The Beatles.

?!?!??!?!

They kiss, and fireworks happen. The End!
