Kat is an esteemed astrophysicist, who is scheduled for her first trip into space next year until an accident grounds her. While on leave, coming to terms with the reality that her dream of being an astronaut is over, she volunteers at the local planetarium. There, she is paired up with by-the-book David to work on an exhibit opening right before Christmas. Will the stars align to bring these two together at the holidays?
Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie begins as NSP, a NASA knockoff or a hospital, maybe? IDK.

Kat is waiting for the results from a doctor with her best friend and fellow space cadet, Jenna. The VERY Canadian doctor confirms that Kat doesn’t have 20/20 vision and cannot fly into space. She lost her vision during a car accident and has been on medical leave.
Kat’s brother (who is HOT), Andy, waits for his sister in the parking lot and helps her deal with the news that she can no longer be an astronaut. Her whole family is worried about her; it is such a loss of a dream for Kat.
Kat test her vision around her room, which is FILLED with space stuff. (Like, wow, girl, get a life.) Then, she reads ebooks with huge fonts. She is depressed.

Kat visits the planetarium and literally runs into a little girl in a wheelchair. The little girl is the daughter of the museum curator, David. When Kat tells him that she is there to help with an upcoming exhibit, he is taken off guard. The exhibit opens on December 16th, and Kat pitches a Christmas tie-in with the sun. David is reluctant to partner up. Kat tells David about her blind spot pretty early on. (Good, I’m glad she didn’t keep it a secret!)
Andy brings his sister lunch and checks up on Kat. She sees right through his meddling. He used to be an event planner and flirts with a girl putting on a charity. The B-romance plot is boring! He will help her put on the event, and they will fall in love.

Kat looks into the history of the sun, and it turns out THE SUNS BIRTHDAY IS CHRISTMAS! Also, she learns Yuletide means the turning of the sun. David wants to include more science and less mythology. Then she shows him a really silly-looking sun with a Santa hat on. David (rightfully) is like WTF?!

Shuffleboard happens, or wait, is that what this is called?

Kat and David spend more time working on the sun exhibit, and when they finish, they devise a Santa Tracking Party idea. So they can continue to work together. The big opening happens, where David and Kat’s families meet. Andy also introduces his parents to Celeste. David’s daughter gets bullied, and Kat helps her overcome her emotions. David lashes out at Kat out of worry about his daughter not realizing the situation is handled.
They makeup in the next scene and then do more work! This time, it is decorating, and Kat falls off a ladder. David saves her, and now they are in love. They kiss at the Christmas Eve Party while getting ready.

Now it is time for FINDING SANTA! (It is underwhelming! ) Some random guy is impressed and offers Kat a job in Chicago. David hears about the job offer, and he is, of course, disappointed. (I’m not sure why; they barely have a connection other than co-workers.)

Christmas morning, Kat opens presents with her family. She rushes off after cookies in search of David… and his daughter, I guess. SHE JUST GOES TO HIS HOUSE AND APOLOGIZES FOR NOTHING BECAUSE SHE DID NOTHING WRONG!!!!

David and his daughter join Kat and her family for a nice Christmas dinner. Celeste and Jenna are there too, because why not!
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
Two hunks in one movie? Andrew Bushell & Ryan Paevey can’t share the silver screen. My heart can’t take it! Swoon!
Both grown children living with their parents was an interesting choice. I guess that is what Gen Z is doing to save $$$.

Can you tell me the artist who sings “Silent Night” in this movie? I can’t find it anywhere.
