As the holidays approach, Emily and Jared are looking forward to celebrating the holidays together again, this time as a couple. Emily, now embracing Evergreen Lane’s uniquely festive spirit, is ready to work with Jared, Ned, Mary Louise and Pamela to make this year’s Christmas celebrations the best yet – even if being the HOA president’s girlfriend doesn’t stop those dreaded decorating citations. When a house on the block goes up for sale, it causes quite a stir with residents. When the soon-to-be neighbors turn out to be holiday royalty, it looks like this year’s competition is about to heat up. As the welcoming committee prepares for the new arrivals, only one thing is certain – this Christmas, Evergreen Lane is going to sleigh! Starring Lacey Chabert, Wes Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, Ellen Travolta, Melissa Peterman, Seth Morris, and Jennifer Aspen.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Lacey Chabert is back for her second movie of the season, which just happens to be a sequel. She gives a tidy recap of the first movie in approximately 30 seconds.

She lives on a Christmas street, Evergreen, with CRAZY HOA rules and is dating the rule enforcer, Jared. Everyone who lives on the street is VERY close and in one another’s business.
When a house next door goes up for sale, Mary Lousie asks Siri who is moving in next door. (haha.) Everyone worries about the new homeowners and their holiday spirit.
Jared plans to propose to Lacey Chabert with his friend Jess. He misses the HOA meeting, which adds to the stress. Lacey Chabet becomes suspicious after a conversation with Jess.

The Jolly Johnsons move in, and they are CHRISTMAS FAMOUS! The reining champions of Ho Ho House. When they arrive, they are DIVAS and ask for cameras to be put away and belittle their decorations. They have a whole moving truck just for decorations that the HOA group unpacks to be helpful.

At the Christmas tree lighting, Joily Johnson’s upstage the event and made it all about themselves. They also are shady in the HOA meeting. (Some really great catty lines. It’s giving Golden Girls!) They even imply that the HOA is not elite and try to change rules immediately. Jared and Lacey Chabert struggle to control the meeting.

The Jolly Johnsons quickly brag about how many followers their son has on TikTok, the TV show they have on network cable (which no one watches anymore.), and how they do EVERYTHING better. They are super competitive.
Jared is preoccupied, and Lacey Chabert is not impressed. She hasn’t had to deal with a mean girl like this before.
Gnomes show up at everyone’s house, and they blast Johnson’s Christmas album 24/7. Jarad writes the Johnsons an HOA citation and is sweet-talked into not giving it to them. Jared feels like a pushover.

So, Lacey Chabert sends an email to the homeowners to come to the ORIGINAL cookie contest. No one shows up, and they go to The Johnson’s cookie contest instead.
After a snowball ambush, Lacey Chabert and Jared write The Johnsons up with several citations for decorating faux pas. The Johnsons remove themselves from the HOA rules and can do whatever they want! Ned goes along with them and is kicked out of the HOA group.

Lacey Chabert calls in reinforcements. Her parents. They come up with a lot of ways to get revenge, but Lacey talks everyone into not fighting fire with fire. That is until The Johnsons call her a GRINCH! Lacey Chabert goes head to head with a competition with everything on the line.

TRAINING MONTAGE
Lacey Chabert breaks the Johnsons with a gingerbread house. She gives their son a house and tells him that he can eat it if he wants because the holidays are about enjoying things and not being perfect. He tells his parents that he just wants to be NORMAL! It rattles the Johnsons.

At the competition, Lacey Chabert is disturbed by the competitive edge that has taken over the block. Jane Jolly Johnson wants to be Jane Johnson and asks for a do-over. She promises to do things the Evergreen way and just enjoy Christmas.

Jared nails his Christmas proposal with a horse-drawn carriage, and the block is lit up by the residents’ sparklers. Then, a string quartet plays while he gives her a beautiful ring. She says yes! Yay!
