Travel columnist Sonny Kravitz (Tatyana Ali) and her ex-boyfriend Kip (Jesse Kove) are forced to team up to help their best friends Bree (Whitney Able) and Jarod (Geovanni Gopradi) get engaged. To set the backdrop, the four return to Sonny’s parents’ snowy chalet and set up twelve holiday traditions that are celebrated around the world to nudge Jarod to ask Bree to be his wife. But it seems that the proposal plan doesn’t just reignite the love between the engaged couple. Will Sonny and Kip rekindle what they once had?
Review/Recp
The movie starts with a pop Christmas song that I’m LOVING!
Tatyana Ali looks incredible and works for an LA Travel Magazine; she hates to travel but hosts a Besties Gals Go Travel show for the Gals Gone Global Network. Her boss gives her a Christmas bonus to work over the Christmas holiday or not! (It’s a no-strings-attached BRIBE!) Tatyana Ali is going home to play gin rummy with her dad and watch Christmas movies with her stepmother.

LA Blonde Friend, Brie brings over some wine in a designer bag. She hosts a show on the GGG Network and is in the mood to celebrate! Tatyana Ali and Brie seem like real friends. The mood suddenly switches because Brie is worried that her boyfriend, Jared, is going to break up with her. Tatyana Ali suggests that Brie proposes to HIM.
Tatyana Ali decided to write an article about world-class Christmas traditions from around the world in people’s homes. Ending with a holiday proposal of celebrity Brie.
Farmer Kip, with a side swoop, is Tatyana Ali’s ex-boyfriend. Brie invites him to join them on a trip back to Tatyana Ali’s hometown. Kip is Jared’s best friend and is on the plan to reunite Jared and Brie for the holiday.
When Tatyana Ali’s dad and stepmother find out Kip is coming, they are overjoyed! They run a Bed and Breakfast, which is where Kip and Tatyana Ali initially met.
Jared is literally blindfolded and dragged to the Bed and Breakfast. He is baffled. (And so am I! WUT?)

Kip does morning meditations in the hot tub, much to Tatyana Ali’s annoyance. He also ruins the romantic traditions that Tatyana Ali prepares. They argue about her being overly committed to his job.

The Christmas proposal traditions continue, and it becomes a little competitive between the guys and girls. It is a moment for the bros to talk about how great the girls are and for the gals to talk about how dumb the boys are.
NOW IT IS TIME FOR WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS!
The gays, Victor and Johnathan, show up just in time for brunch! They will help with Tatyana Ali’s work story so she can focus more on romance and less time on work. They are also shady as hell!
Genevive calls to see how the story is going, and Tatyana Ali tells her she promised Kip not to work on the trip. The boss is like, if you don’t like him, lie and keep working.
Bri and Tatyana Ali sing Christmas songs by candlelight. They make everyone sing back up, and honestly, I would do the same thing with my family and friends.

Kip, the gays, and Tatyana Ali prepare a romantic gazebo for Brie and Jared. Tatyana Ali and Kip start to reconsider the breakup.
After cooking a Christmas meal, everyone shares their favorite Christmas memories. (With lots of wine!) They eat a King Cake, and Tatyana Ali gets the charm! She jokingly picks a nutcracker prince and then picks her REAL prince charming, Kip!
Work calls and Tatyana Ali tells her boss she can’t complete the story. The boss isn’t phased and instead asks for a New Year’s story.
The gays head out and mention the article, and Kip feels betrayed. Tatyana Ali tries to explain but makes things worse. Jarad asks if it is even that big of a deal, and I’m with him. Kip needs to chill and get a haircut.
Christmas Eve – things are still tense!
Brie speaks some truth to Kip and tells him he is being too controlling and if he is going to leave, he should just freaking go. Then, she talks to Tatyana Ali and helps her feel better by pitching a podcast.
It is proposal time! The title promised! Jared proposes to Brie, and she proposes to him. Everyone cries and cheers. Even Kip, who came back.
Kip tells Tatyana Ali that they make a good team. She agrees. (I do not!) He tells her that she should turn in her Christmas article after all. He wants her to work AND be in love with him. Kip apologizes for overreacting, and Tatyana Ali goes for it.

They kiss under the mistletoe, an American tradition.
The movie ends with another Christmas banger!! This movie should have a soundtrack.
