Synopsis (via Lifetime)
Amy is the overworked assistant of fashion mogul, Vanessa Silver. So, it’s a shock when Vanessa tells Amy that she plans to name her as her successor, rather than her party-girl daughter Blair. Even more of a shock is when Vanessa turns up dead the next morning. Learning that Vanessa updated her will to give 90% of the company to Amy and only 10% to Blair, Amy’s boyfriend Kevin is apprehensive about this change, especially as Amy becomes the prime suspect in Vanessa’s mysterious death. As Blair begins to receive threats, Amy fluctuates between thinking the threats are fake and suspecting a disgruntled former employee as the culprit–until Blair is attacked at work, leaving Amy is the culprit in yet another case. Will Amy figure out who she can trust before she’s punished for crimes she didn’t commit? Stars Brianna Cohen, Annie Sullivan, Suzanne R. Neff, and Mo Seghal (2025).
Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie starts with a boutique store employee dancing in the window store window before she is taken out with a measuring tape.
Cut to two weeks earlier, and we meet the busybody Amy, who helps run the fashion brand Silver. Amy helps her BFF Wanda with fabrics and her boss Vanessa get better placements in local marketing. (Hot Fashion Magazine) Vanessa is impressed; she isn’t impressed with her deadbeat daughter, Blair. The mother and daughter get into an argument, ending with Vanessa having an asthma attack. Amy gets her boss her inhaler and saves her life. On one condition, Vanessa promotes Amy over her daughter: fire her BFF Wanda.
The firing goes as terribly as it could. Wanda is dragged out of the store by security while screaming about all the holidays she has worked and family life events she has sacrificed. Amy pitifully offers severance and an apologetic look, but Vanessa is impressed.
Amy comes home to her hunk boyfriend, Kevin, who cooks in an apron and is wearing terrible shoes. (She works in FASHUN! Get yo man better shoes!) He complains about his ankle hurting multiple times, which makes me think he is the killer. Kevin is surprised when he learns about Amy’s promotion because he thought she wanted a better work-life balance. They down their wine and go up to bed for some sexy time, but Amy sees someone in the window.
Vanessa stays at work late and is found dead in her office the next morning of an asthma attack. The police officers question Amy and Blair. The cameras of the store were cut off. Amy asks if it is foul play and helps the police question the employees.
At the reading on the will, Blair is surprised that she is only getting 10% of the company. Amy is named the new CEO and will inherit the other 90%. Blair is outraged and suspects Amy of manipulating things behind the scenes. Amy starts pulling the late nights in the office, ditching Kevin for probably gay fashion designer Julian.
Wanda confronts Amy in the parking lot in the same outfit she wore days ago. (Which isn’t very fashionable.) Wanda appears drunk and reasons her job is back in play since Vanessa is dead. Amy tells Wanda to sleep it off, but Wanda isn’t having it and tells Amy she could end up just like Vanessa if she isn’t careful.
Someone lurks around the store after hours and prints “Die Die Die” over pictures of Blair. They also put up a mannequin with brown hair with a note that says, “Die Die Die!” The cameras are shut off, and the police have no video evidence.
Blair invites herself over for dinner at Amy’s house, and when she arrives, she calls her house “cute.” Blair brings wine, which is, of course, drugged. With Amy passed out, Blair is overly friendly with Kevin. (But not inappropriately so.) Amy oversleeps and almost misses the BIG fashion show. Blair is happy to take over in Amy’s absence.
The fashion show is TRAGIC in more ways than one. Ms. Jay would never have a runway that amateurish. Also, the show-stopping design, a slip dress, isn’t seen because the model is attacked backstage with a clothing rack. The fashion show is ruined, and Amy is embarrassed. Blair, on the other hand, thinks it is hilarious and celebrates with a model named Clara. (The tape measure girl.) Amy accuses Clara publically and creates a scene; she even tells Kevin she wants to kill her. (A video recording of the incident goes viral.)
Blair and Clara party in the boutique, and someone kills the model when Blair is in the bathroom. Blair ends up in the hospital. Amy has no alibi because Kevin went out to get dinner, leaving her alone. She is the police’s number one suspect.
Kevin is overly calm as Amy freaks out at him. He is a therapist, but she needs a boyfriend right now. The police show up with a search warrant while Amy is showering. She finds an inhaler in the medicine cabinet and suspects Kevin is framing her.
Amy brings her concerns to Kevin, and he gaslights her, telling her she is projecting onto him. She cries in his arms, but are they the arms of a killer? Kevin gets Amy a glass of wine to calm her down.
Blair is out of the hospital and looking like Little Eddie. Amy asks Blair is she planted the inhaler in her home. Then Amy suspects Wanda and brings Kevin to look into it. Did they find somewhere Wanda had been squatting in the offices? Kevin did, I think! There is a serial killer wall, but where it is precise, I’m unsure.
Setting aside. Amy calls Kevin’s phone and follows the ringing to the secret location. Blair is there with a bat. Wanda is dead on the ground IN THE SAME OUTFIT. (A fashion crime!) Blair did everything to get the company and plans to frame Amy for her crimes. Kevin is stuffed in a mannequin box, leaving Amy to defend herself with fabric scissors. (Which are supposed to be used on FABIC ONLY! That’s the first rule of fashion!)
Wanda is NOT dead and saves Amy! The police arrest Blair, and Wanda gets her job back. Hopefully, Wanda will get a second wardrobe for this movie!
Six months later, the fashion show goes a lot better. Wanda does get to wear something else, and I’m so glad Lindsay Harley didn’t let me down there! The new fashion line is a success! Horray! Kevin and Amy are also expecting a baby!
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
There sure was a lot of DRAMA over a boutique with about 15 dresses in stock.
The first movie of 2025 was mid! They did me dirty, making me think Wanda died!

Better than most.
The dancing in the window and then the measuring tape? Is this Lifetime’s attempt to keep things fresh? Forget Wanda’s clothes- I wasn’t a fan of Amy’s choices.
I agree about the “fashion show”. It made little kids dressing up in pre-school look like a Paris runway. It was a mess, but the month is young and I’m here for it.
Thank you! She made some silly mistakes and didn’t like how she treated her friend until she saved her life. And the dresses very Windsor
Why does Wanda have the same clothes on everyday for weeks?!
That’s what I’m saying!
I thought she was squatting inside the shop. Did I miss something? Since her husband took the house, but..yeah he didn’t take her clothes, so the repeat outfit made no sense
So… the lead is a Lifetime MVP but found it a little hard to continue to root for her. She was making rookie mistakes, and her reactions were all over the place. Not reporting the Hate papers, feeling weird after drinking the evil girl’s wine and brushing it off and she kind of treated her fired friend like crap after firing her. She left her drunk outside in a parking lot alone. Why didn’t she try to speak with her and console her? (and yeah, about her same grey sweater everyday, now we know why) Her boyfriend not checking in on her after she gets up from the table like she has been drugged. Over working yourself doesn’t look like that. You don’t need to be a doctor (which he sorta is) to know that. I am also guessing these models and outfits are for the “every woman”. Because that is what the clothing and models gave me, which is great if that is what they are going for. I also wish the daughter was actually good and the mom just treated her like crap. But nope she was exactly like her mom. “He complains about his ankle hurting multiple times, which makes me think he is the killer.”-Great minds think alike. I also suspected him when he snuck out of bed while she was sleep. But he really did run on a bum ankle?! These cops were idiots and so annoying. Where were the real detectives? These cops would not be working this case.
