Joanna and Leo seem to have it all. Two adorable children, Evie and Aaron and a beautiful house in the suburbs. But their perfect marriage begins to unravel when Piper, the owner of a wellness center moves to town and sets her sights on Leo who quickly falls for her charms. As Piper ruthlessly maneuvers her way into the family, Joanna starts digging into her past and discovers some very disturbing secrets including two previous dead husbands. Fearing for their safety, Joanna is determined to find the proof that she needs and expose Piper in time to protect her family. Keshia Knight Pulliam, Trai Byers, Alayna Bernard, AJ Bernard, and Grace Byers star (2025).
Recap/Wine Thoughts

Cosby apologist Keshia Knight Pulliam plays Joanna, who does not like running in the house and scolds her kids before school. She does like her hunk husband, Leo, who is very busy with work. (But really, he is going to yoga class to pick up chicks, man.)
The yoga teacher is not impressed when Leo’s phone goes off in class or when he makes eyes at her while they are meditating. After class, Leo talks to the teacher, Piper, and she clocks that wedding ring. Leo IS actually working and asks about a guy he is trailing. The whole conversation is overly flirtatious. Later, Piper stalks Leo online.

Meanwhile, Keshia Knight Pulliam visits her mother with groceries because she lives alone. The mother recently purchased a gun, which I’m sure will come into play at some point. The mother does not like Leo or how he treats her daughter. Keshia Knight Pulliam doesn’t see what her mother sees and thinks Leo is the best husband.
But then, Keshia Knight Pulliam sees Leo and Piper talking at a party and sees the red flags. Her husband is going to a yoga class with a hot teacher? (Hell no.) Keshia Knight Pulliam grills Piper about her upbringing and declines Piper’s invitation to take a yoga class. (She should actually go and mark her territory.) Keshia Knight Pulliam gets even more paranoid when Leo takes Piper out for a “business dinner.”

Piper is full-on studying photos of Leo during her downtime. The dinner absolutely gives her the wrong idea; it is pretty fancy. Leo talks to Piper about his parents and upbringing, and she feels she is really getting to know him. Piper uses her new-age BS on Leo, and it works. Leo and Piper totally have sex.

Keshia Knight Pulliam confronts Piper in yoga class and tells her that Leo is mentally unstable and was suicidal just a few months ago. Piper doesn’t back down and tells Keshia Knight Pulliam that she slept with her husband. Keshia Knight Pulliam slaps Piper across the face. She promises to do it much harder if Piper comes around her man again.

I’m not sure exactly what is wrong with Keshia Knight Pulliam, but she goes home, puts on a nice dress, and prepares a romantic candle-lit dinner. (It is pathetic.) Leo comes home and is like, “We need to talk.” Just as he is about to end things, Keshia Knight Pulliam gets a call from the hospital that her mother has fallen down the stairs.

Leo learns about the slap, and he breaks up with Keshia Knight Pulliam because he is in love with Piper. He wants to end on good terms and co-parent as friends, but Keshia Knight Pulliam is pissed. She feels like she has dedicated her life to a picture of her life that isn’t real. Leo assures her that they are done because he is crazy about Piper. Keshia Knight Pulliam kicks his ass out.
Keshia Knight Pulliam gets the divorce papers and begs Leo not to break their marriage vows. Leo just met Piper! He is resolute and hangs up on Keshia Knight Pulliam and her foolishness.

With no one else to help, Keshia Knight Pulliam resorts to her own snooping skills and follows Piper around town. Keshia Knight Pulliam meets a man who knew Piper by another name, Pamela. Pamela was in a tragic marriage where her husband and daughter died in a freak drowning accident. Keshia Knight Pulliam learns that the man was a local politician. Keshia Knight Pulliam tries to tell Leo, but he won’t listen to her.
Piper/Pamela plays house with Leo’s kids, but they hate her. Piper/Pamela isn’t a fan of them either because they hate her cooking. (The kids throw up after drinking a special juice Piper/Pam makes them. Could it be poisoned?) Leo moves Piper/Pamela into the family home, and Keshia Knight Pulliam is horrified.

Someone calls CPS on Keshia Knight Pulliam for yelling/shaking her son for getting lost at a park. Leo is very disappointed and asks Keshia Knight Pulliam to get help. (If you see this movie from his POV, he is right.) Keshia Knight Pulliam is Matthew’s ex-wife. The ex-wife’s story about the quick love affair is eerily similar to Keshia Knight Pulliam’s experience. There is also another husband who ended up in a coma under mysterious circumstances.
Leo brings the dead daughter and husband thing up to Piper/Pamela, and she cries and says it was very traumatic. (Because she caused it?)
Pamela/Piper has another husband, and he is in a coma from an accident. (So things are looking suspicious.) Keshia Knight Pulliam goes to the man and asks him to squeeze her hand if Pamela/Piper is dangerous. That man squeezes her hand so hard!

Keshia Knight Pulliam doesn’t waste any time, breaks into the house, and leaves a message in lipstick in the mirror. Leo doesn’t get the memo and proposes to Piper.

Piper/Pamela’s mother calls her daughter to tell her that her father died, and the funeral has already passed. Piper/Pamela cries, but her mean mother might be the cause of all of this. (The mother is Mommie Dearest level.)

Keshia Knight Pulliam tries to warn her children that Piper/Pam is dangerous. Then she learns that Leo and the children are going sailing with Piper/Pam, and they will most likely be pushed overboard. Keshia Knight Pulliam sneaks into the house and tries to kidnap her kids, but the kids turn against their mother and call for help. Leo tries to stop Keshia Knight Pulliam, so she tasers him and makes herself look REALLY BAD. Piper/Pamela denies everything and tells Keshia Knight Pulliam she is trying to live a good life. Keshia Knight Pulliam shoots (with that gun her mom had in the beginning.) Piper/Pamela on the spot.

In jail, Keshia Knight Pulliam learns the cold, hard truth from her mother. Keshia Knight Pulliam has never been married to Leo; those kids aren’t hers. She was Leo’s assistant, and she became obsessed with Leo. Keshia Knight Pulliam killed his wife and tries to replace her. The “divorce” papers she was served were a termination of employment and an order of protection.

Piper/Pamela gets a call from an inmate at the prison, and Keshia Knight Pulliam promises to expose the truth. Piper/Pamela isn’t concerned because Keshia Knight Pulliam will be in jail for twenty years, so her secret is safe. Piper/Pamela WAS luring Leo and planning on killing him for his money, but her plan has changed.

Little do they know LEO is listening on the other end. (Who still has a landline, let alone two phones in the house?) Dun, Dun, Dun!!!!
STRAY Thoughts
Keshia Knight Pulliam’s character was insufferable; I was not rooting for her at all. Good thing she turned out to be one of the bad guys.
Nice double twist ending.

This was a good one. They both cray-cray.
I had listened to a BBC radio program recently and remembering it, made me wonder if this was an unreliable narrator scenario….Lifetime you did good. You did good. It didn’t hit me until towards the end. Then you go back and rewatch everything and it all makes sense. But I love things were true about Pamela/Piper
Everything about this movie was a no until the very end. Terrible acting, completely unbelievable. What woman that just started dating a man is wearing those 5 year wife pajamas?
