Synopsis (via Lifetime)

When her fiance Jack fails to show up on their wedding day, Cassie looks for comfort in the best man and former roommate, Greg. Moments after their intimate encounter, Cassie learns that Jack has turned up in the hospital after a bad accident. Cassie is torn when Greg moves in to help with Jack’s recovery, but their infidelity is far from her biggest problem: Greg has made his way back into their home and has no plans to leave ever again. Stars Kyle Kankonde, Charlie N. Townsend, Titus Makin Jr., Anissa Felix, and Donna Winfield (2025).

Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie starts with a struggle on the stairs. (Which is very Lifetime.) A woman is bound to the banister as she cries for help.

Two weeks before the marriage, we meet college friends Cassie, Greg, and Jack. Cassie and Jack are getting married, so Greg has to move out of the basement so the soon-to-be newlyweds can start their family. (Greg seems a little too flirty with Cass for my taste. I could be projecting because Greg is my type.)

The stress of wedding planning is getting to Cass and Greg. They get into an argument the day before the wedding. Jack sends Greg to make amends for his mess-ups. Greg tells Cass that she is lucky to have Jack; they are two of the best people he knows. They hug it out a little too long.

The night before the wedding, Cassie’s friend Ariel comes over, and they make fun of someone named May with a snaggle tooth. The boys go out to the (saddest-looking) strip club, and Greg pushes Jack to tell Cassie about some infidelity. Later, Greg pitches a threesome to Jack in dead seriousness, creeping Jack out.

Cassie and Ariel go to a bar, and Cassie admits that her sex life with Jack has been dull and almost non-existent. Greg sends pics of Jack and a stripper, asking Cassie if she wants to join them. She is confused by him.

On the day of the wedding, Jack is MIA. Cassie is in her wedding gown, freaking out! They checked the house and local hospital, but no one had seen him, and the police wouldn’t help find him since it hadn’t been 24 hours. Cassie is sure he is leaving her at the altar and calls off the wedding. Then, she has a breakdown.

Greg shows up to pick up the pieces and to help Cassie out of her wedding dress. A hug turns into a kiss, turns into a full-on hookup on her wedding day. (Greg has some fun neon underwear on in this scene. Haha. It must be his personal pair.) Not soon after, Cassie gets a call from the hospital; Jack is alive and didn’t stand her up after all.

Jack is banged up in the hospital with no recollection of what happened. He has never blacked out before and asks Greg what happened. Greg has no idea. Cassie and Jack get married in the hospital chapel, quickly forgetting about the drama of the past few hours. Greg stands by their side and offers to be Jack’s live-in nurse to help out. (Cassie goes along with this plan for some reason.)

Jack is laid up and on some serious pain pills. Greg is quick to give Jack a sponge bath that is just gay enough for me. Greg is a bisexual icon and takes off his shirt and offers to watch Jack’s dick. Jack says he has got it covered and misses the gay subtext.

Greg wastes no time trying to kiss Cassie, and she shuts him down. Cassie tells Greg she regrets hooking up with him and wants to leave it in the past. The only problem is, GREG WON’T STOP BEING SEXY AF!!!! He hammers at night, shirtless, and makes sex eyes at Cassie whenever he can. He watches Greg and Cassie get it on. (The Tubi version is a little spicy!)

Inexplicably, Cassie and Ariel go to CVS to question Jack’s ex-girlfriend about the night Jack can’t remember. Sylvie has no idea about Jack, but she does mention that Gregg really creeped her out and was super territorial over Jack and Cassie.

At work, Greg makes friends with the realist cast member, Willa. Nothing else happens in this scene; I just thought Willa was cool. Later, Willa catches Greg stealing medication, and sadly, Greg kills her in a parking lot.

Cassie finds the vials of meds and becomes concerned. She takes a shower to think about what to do next, and Greg walks in on her and tells her not to look through his things. Cassie kicks him out and begins to feel unsafe. She tries to tell Jack it is time for Greg to go, but Jack wants Greg to stay.

Cassie finds a burner phone in the basement while doing laundry, and Greg catches her snooping. Jack starts becoming moderately more mobile and tries to stop taking as much medication, but Greg wants Jack to stay on schedule. Greg sees that Jack is going to be getting well soon and asks him to check out the work he’s been doing in the basement.

Cassie comes home and finds Jack unconscious in the basement. It has been made into a makeshift apartment that Greg has built. The door to the outside is boarded over. Greg grabs Cassie, and we are back to the struggle on the stairs. Cassie is the woman being tied to the stairs banister.

Meanwhile, Ariel goes to the strip club and tips the bouncer to get a peek at the security footage. She looks at the footage and sees Greg and Jack in the parking lot. Greg sedates Jack and throws him into the trunk of his car.

Cassie and Jack wake up tied up, and Greg refuses to let them go. He has grocery store sushi for their date, but they refuse to eat. Greg talks about all the fun they can have. He wants to share everything together. Trupel style. Greg tells them that they need him, and then he shoots them both up with sedatives. Ariel rushes to Cassie’s house.

Jack and Cassie try to escape, but she admits to hooking up with Greg. Jack says he also hooked up with Greg on a work trip. They are both confused and want to be together without Greg, even if he is so damn sexy.

Ariel breaks into the house and calls for her friend. Greg is away at work, so Cassie and Jack scream for help. Ariel rushes downstairs and tries to untie them, but Greg comes home early. He denies everything but then gets violent.

Greg smashes Ariel into a pole and sedates Cassie again. Jack watches Greg choke Ariel to death as he is tied to his chair. Greg gets rid of the body and continues to play house with the sedated housemates.

The three friends sit around the kitchen table for a family meeting. Greg tells them he loves them and wants to make them happy and care for them. Cass wants to consider his proposal because she sees them on camera. As Greg watches on camera, Jack and Cass say they want to be with Greg.

Thinking he has won, Greg unties them in hopes of moving to the bed for some sexy time. Cass pretends to go along with it and lures him closer. As Greg unties Jack and puts on some sexy tunes, Cassie goes for a pair of scissors while doing a striptease. Cassie stabs him with the scissors and smashes him with a lamp. She ends up sedating Greg and escaping with Jack.

Jack and Cassie talk to the police and say they have no idea how Greg became so obsessed with them. They decide to stay together and remodel the basement. Cassie can’t shake the feeling that she is being watched. The end!

  1. I liked the movie. Not a predictable plot even though I figured it out quickly. I just want to know if there’s a sequel since it left on a slight cliffhanger. I don’t like when movies do that and don’t say “to be continued”.
