A honeymoon goes tragically wrong when new groom, Brendan, falls off a hotel balcony, leaving his bride, Sarah, devastated. When the autopsy points to murder, Brendan’s sister, Rachel, pushes the authorities to hold her sister-in-law accountable but dies soon after. Sarah must quickly prove her innocence or risk a lifetime separated from her stepdaughter. Christie Leverette, Kabby Borders, Rae DeRosa, Will Holland, and James Bodo star (2025).
Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie begins with Sarah and Brendan’s wedding. It is done on a budget and features numerous fake sound effects. Rachel, Brenden’s sister, talks to him after the ceremony, and he shows her a rude letter his ex, Lindsey, sent to the bride-to-be. (Something like, “Good luck, you’re going to need it!) Brenden is committed to his work as an insurance adjustor and takes calls during their honeymoon. Sarah also receives calls and messages from Lindsey.

Brendan has to come clean about a secret, and just as he is about to, the man is murdered. He is found dead at the bottom of the stairs. Brenden’s sister, Rachel, checks on the newlyweds and offers to watch their daughter, Kennedy, whom we didn’t even know he had. The kid doesn’t even seem to care that her dad is dead and is happy to play cards with her new stepmother. Kennedy is also obsessed with having her own cell phone.

A Detective questions Sarah and Rachel about Brendan’s enemies; they are quick to point out his ex, Lindsey, as being particularly threatening and neglectful of Kennedy. YouTube (Sorry, OurTube) channels pick up the story and label the case Honeymoon Horrors. Sarah has questions of her own after finding a lock box with news clippings about a hit-and-run.
Lindsey continues to send Sarah messages, and the OurTube host harasses Sarah to try and get the inside scoop. The constant bombardment puts Sarah on edge, and she walks around her house with a golf club for safety. Sarah needs it because there is an intruder in her home who writes “MURDERER” on a painting in red paint.

Jason, Brendan’s best man, offers to take Sarah in with his pregnant wife, Nicole. He unhelpfully tells Sarah that there are a lot of crazy people out there as they read through YouTube comments. He is hot and married, so he is probably the killer.

Lindsey shows up frantically looking for her daughter. Lindsey tells Sarah that her child should be with HER now that Brendan is dead. Sarah tells Lindsey that Kennedy should be with her biological mother. She also claims to be drug-free and wants to show Kennedy that she has changed. Sarah agrees to let Lindsey come to the funeral.
The memorial has an even lower budget than the wedding. Rachel scolded Sarah for letting Kennedy be around Lindsey because it isn’t safe. Lindsey seems perfectly fine, and Rachel is overreacting.
Well, Lindsey shows her true colors after she finds out Sarah has applied for full custody of Kennedy. Sarah has been caring for Kennedy for the past three years. Lindsey throws a flower pot at Sarah, and Sarah calls the police. There is a restraining order in place against Lindsey. Still, it doesn’t look good that Sarah invited her to the memorial.

When Sarah goes to pick up Kennedy, Rachel doesn’t want to give up her niece either. Sarah tells her that she has custody of Kennedy, and Rachel can’t keep her legally. (The whole thing is a mess, especially since we never actually saw Kennedy and Brendan together in a scene. Like, I had no idea this was going to be a custody battle movie.)
The home intruder is back, even though Sarah changed the locks and installed new cameras. Sarah can’t sleep because social media is speculating about her and the murder. It causes the detective to question Sarah again.

To clear her name, Sarah goes back to the scene of the crime to do her own investigating and get answers. Sarah talks to the YouTuber (Sorry, OurTuber!) and tells him that Brendan told her about the hit and run the night he died. Brendan wasn’t driving, but he covered for whoever the driver was. Brendan didn’t have a chance to tell Sarah who was driving the car.
Rachel ends up dead after getting hit over the head with a vase. RIP, Rachel.
Sarah goes on the run with Kennedy and tells the kid that they are going on a vacation. The police can’t do anything when Lindsey reports her daughter missing because Sarah is the legal guardian.
The police raid Sarah’s house, and I’m not sure what’s happening exactly. They find Brendan’s phone at Sarah’s home, and that is incriminating, evidently.
Sarah and Kennedy decide to take Jason up on his offer to let them stay with him. They have car trouble, apparently. We are losing the thread, and this storyline is meandering.

Nicole and Jason confront Sarah about the phone being found in her house. Sarah explains that Lindsey must have planted the phone to make Sarah look bad. The couple isn’t as interested in that; they want to know what Brendan told her about the car involved in the hit-and-run. Jason becomes super defensive, and Sarah realizes he must have been the driver. Her suspicions are confirmed when she sees a photoshopped picture of Jason with the car from the accident conveniently hanging on the fridge. (Oh, it is BAD Photoshop too.)
Sarah goes downstairs in the middle of the night to look at the photo again, and Jason catches her. She tells him she knows what he did, and Jason admits to pushing Brendan down the stairs, and he tried to drown Sarah in a bathtub?!?!?

Lindsey shows up, and Jason knocks her in the head, giving Sarah a chance to get out of the bathtub. She pushes Jason down the stairs and rushes to help Lindsey up.
The police arrive to arrest Nicole and Jason.
Sarah and Lindsey come to an understanding. The end!
STRAY Thoughts
Also known as From Dangerous Height.
There was some basic table setting that the script just breezed over which would have raised the stakes with more introduction to WTF was happening from the start.
