Princess Victoria of Zelarnia travels to a Montana ranch to decompress before Christmas. She is guided by Huntley Blaylock, who is unaware of her royal status and gives her a rustic ranch experience. While helping to organize the ranch’s “Holly-Day Dance,” Victoria falls for Huntley and the new life she’s found.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Happy Christmas Season!

We start off in Zelarnia with the princess Victoria changing out of her horse riding clothes and stumbling in heels to her big Christmas party. Gay Assistant Gabriel helps her get ready quickly, and Princess Fiona, who has incredible hair, lights a candle for Zelara. Her mother, the queen, wants Princess Victoria to take her responsibilities more seriously, but Princess Victoria wants to go on horse adventures like the King does. She doesn’t want to just do traditional things and would like to connect with the PEOPLE! (Like Princess Diana!)

Princess Victoria asks to go to the Dude Ranch in Montana to get clarity and promises to be home for an annual event. Cut to Montana, Princess Victoria, and Gabriel roll into town and run over a guy. Well, not him, his Christmas ornament box he left in the street. The Hallmark Hunks’ name is Huntley.
The Peaceful Pine Ranch is a local establishment that Princess Victoria visited as a child. The owners welcome her and don’t make fun of her transatlantic accent. Princess Victoria is quick to jump in on the local activities, but her run is ruined by the buzzkill, Huntley, who is the son of the Ranch owners. Huntly, a former baseball player, is impressed that Princess Victoria knows about horses. He isn’t impressed that she has a gay assistant.

A wood chopping montage happens, followed by some barn chores, and Princess Victoria is so down and not afraid of hard work. Huntley gives Princess Victoria a lasso lesson, and things get sexy. They are totally vibing and go into town to work on Christmas decorations. While they do, Huntley opens up about his failed career in the minor leagues. They go to a bar and have a nice time playing Christmas Horseshoes. Then Princess Victoria learns that the town needs a party plan, and she puts her royal skills to use. (Or maybe just her money? We will see!)

Huntley’s dad wants him back on the Dude Ranch, but only if it makes him happy. Huntley is literally on the fence; he works on it while they have this conversation. Princess Victoria shows Huntly the floor plan for the party and shares her ideas, and he is impressed by her inventiveness. They bond under the big Montana sky.

Princess Victoria talks to her Gay Assistant, and he encourages her to go for it and not worry about her queen mother being upset about her staying in town. Princess Victoria admits to Huntley that she is royalty. He doesn’t take it well.

In a flashback, we learn that Princess Victoria and Huntley were friends as kids, and they can now manage their public duties and responsibilities back at Zelarnia. They almost kiss, but Gabriel ruins the mood. Huntley tells his parents, expecting them to tell him not to go for it, but they are rooting for the couple.
2nd Farm chores montage happens, and then it is time for the big festival of lights. They are falling in love, but Huntley worries about being in a long-distance relationship, and he doesn’t want to end things.

They go to the town dance, and Princess Victoria nails that choreo in books, a red dress, and cranberries in her hair. Then they slow dance and name a Homecoming King and Queen of the holiday dance, which isn’t exactly how that works. But, since she is Princess Victoria, she can do whatever she wants; she names a daddy/daughter the winners to honor the memory of her and her king father. Huntley is so moved and wants to stay in town and keep the traditions alive. Princess Victoria and Huntley MAKE OUT HARDCORE!!!!

Princess Victoria leaves, and Huntley doesn’t even get a chance to give her a wooden horse he carved as a going-away gift.
Back in Zelarnia, Princess Victoria begrudgingly goes back to her duties. She makes an impassioned speech about finding love and talks herself into going back to Montana. Good for her.

Huntley is happy to have her back, and they make out. She gives up the crown and her tonsils because they suck face. A horse watches on and is like, “Get a room.”
The movie should have ended there, but we get a random scene of her royal family joining him for a meal. The couple makes out a bit more at the end!
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
Hair and Wardrobe in this was 100%. The accents were not. Let’s just not do them!
Huntley wore his hat for most of the move.
