Charlie Jones, is a platinum-selling rapper whose provocative persona has fueled her career–and landed her in more than a little trouble. After a stint in prison, Charlie’s court-ordered community service places her in the path of Pastor Kyrus Owens.
Recap/Wine Thoughts

Charlie Maga is a hit-making musician with a thriving rap career that is thrown off course with a slew of DUIs, bad press, and time in prison.
Three months later, Charlie is out of jail and has found Jesus with the help of the sexy jail preacher. Her sassy manager wants Charlie back in the studio to make him some $$$. He is swishy and calls Charlie, “Taco.’ because a video went viral of Charlie in jail.

Charie goes to church incognito and is surprised to see the sexy preacher there. Pastor Kyrus has started his own congregation, and the church they are renting is closing. They are going to need an Arena, AND PK needs a wife to become more reputable with the congregation. (I don’t love this whole needing to be married for a job thing.)

Charlie works in a soup kitchen for part of her probation and talks with PK about rehabilitating her life. She goes back into the studio where DA BRAT is producing. Charlie doesn’t want to go back to that lifestyle or to her old friends who didn’t visit her while she was locked up. They also entice her with drugs and booze, but Charlie opts for coffee with PK instead.
The rival pastor sees pictures of PK and Charlie together in the coffee shop and uses her bad reputation to turn PK’s flock against him. Charlie has turned over a new leaf and kicked her groupies out of the pool house.

Suzanne gets jealous when Charlie stands up for redemption. PK tells her that being saved isn’t just for the people in the front row. People in the church gossip about PK and Charlie’s new friendship, and they should really just worry about themselves. Suzanne brings over some food to apologize and try to seduce him.

Charlie admits that she noticed PK in jail helping a woman who reminded her of her dead mother. Charlie asks him to help her write some faith-based lyrics. The record deal doesn’t get it and wants Charlie to be a “Gansta Bitch.” She tells them she will do what she wants.
While suffering from severe writer’s block, Charlie calls PK for inspiration. They go to dinner together and both help each other become their true selves. PK invites Charlie to his family dinner, even though the girl she was before isn’t the type you bring home to grandma.

Donors start pulling out, and the board takes issue with Charlie and PK spending time together. A photo leak of them kissing in a parking lot goes viral, and Charlie has lost 2 million followers for going holy. Da Brat is the only one at the label who is into the new direction and tells Charlie to keep up the good work. (When Da Brat tells you something, you listen.)

PK talks with his dwindling congregation, and the donations are not coming in. Charlie sits in the pews and is worried about PK. She tells him that as long as he has GOD in his heart, he loses nothing. They start officially dating, and the board wants to vote PK out as pastor.
To save PK from losing his job, Charlie breaks up with PK. Then focuses on her new music, but it’s too bad that she gets dropped by her label. Charlie goes on live and raps about GOD. The song is a hit! The fans show up at the church! PK and Charlie kiss, and everyone applauds them.

One year later, PK has a MEGA CHURCH with CHARLE MEGA!
STRAY Thoughts
Interesting concept, I would have liked to see the Cardi B style music videos she was doing before Jesus.
I didn’t hate this as much as I thought I would, and was rooting for this couple.
