Rival journalists competing for the same lucrative promotion get stuck together in snowy Alaska after their plane is forced to make an emergency landing. They find themselves caught up in a totally unexpected Christmas romance.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Megan and Oliver (Marcus Rosner) are up for the same promotion at work, and both are spending the holidays alone. Megan’s big plan? A Masquerade. That will get her the Editor-in-Chief at Voyage/Voyage. They are both tasked with writing an article on travel and sent to Japan for the holidays.
The flight is diverted to Alaska, and Olivar is NOT happy about it. He has a family that owns a Christmas Inn, meaning Olivar is unexpectedly home for the holidays. His sister and niece are so glad to see him and want him to stay for Christmas. A new hotel and spa opened up down the street, and business has been slow.
Megan is divorced and shares custody of her son with her hot husband. That doesn’t deter her from spending time with Oliver and his family doing Alaska things, like ice skating, ice fishing, ice baths, anything with ice, really. They decide to do an Alaskan Christmas party and work with travel writer friends to boost the inn’s profile. The inn is struggling and doesn’t even have a social media presence.
The ex-husband and Daniel come to see Megan in Alaska, like it’s NBD. The ex encourages Megan to go for it with Oliver, but they might be the company’s bosses! So it would be a conflict of interest.
Late in the movie montage.
At the holiday Party, Megan tries to tell Oliver how she feels, but is interrupted by the announcement of her promotion. Oliver goes to get some air and says he is unbothered, but he seems upset to me!
Then they become co-bosses, and everything is fine. They kiss. The End! Merry Christmas!
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
Japan on a Lifetime budget? That would NEVER happen.
