Writer Sabrina stays at a luxury hotel to ghostwrite a memoir. She meets Ian at the bar and lets him think she’s wealthy. He’s actually a secretary posing as nobility while managing a royal jewels exhibit.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie starts with a successful children’s book series about a character named Cordelia. Sabrina writes an article about the impact on culture, and it is so successful that it lands her a book deal.
Sabrina is a barista, but for Christmas, she will move into a fancy New York hotel, The Grand Fairbanks Hotel, to write a biography for a celebrity. She has signed an NDA and meets with the art dealer, who tells his story.
When room service is unavailable, Sabrina runs down to the hotel bar, in her robe to pick up her order. Sabrina eats the wrong sandwich and meets a hunk named Ian, who is in town for a charity event. He tries to get her to break her NDA, but she is more interested in her sandwich.
As the art dealer Grayson tells his story of life as the Butler to Hazel Holly, the Cordelia author, at the Fairbanks Hotel. The movie flashes back in time to show the story. Sabrina is very interested.
Ian has also signed an NDA he is the butler for a royal, for Spencer Braxton, or is he the royal in disguise? I’m confused. Sabrina’s best friend, who is convinced Ian is an undercover royal.
Ian spends the rest of the movie trying to tell Sabrina who he really is, but she thinks he is going to tell her he is a prince.
At a big gala, it is revealed that Ian is NOT the prince, and somehow that is worse. Sabrina runs off, betrayed. Wait, is he a prince? I’m so lost. I guess they are brothers? Who cares!
Sabrina finishes the book and makes a lover connection between Grayson and someone with a necklace. They were fated to be together, just like Sabrina and Ian. They make up and make out!
The end!
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
Even though I wasn’t following the twists, I liked the hotel setting and the leads!
