Synopsis (via Lifetime)
After Cassie (Durupt) returns to her hometown to revive her family’s traditional Christmas festival, she meets a dashing stranger, Nicolas (Rosner), who’s volunteered to help organize the event. Sparks begin to fly between them, but little does she know that he’s really a prince in disguise, longing to find the true spirit of the holidays. It will take a Christmas miracle of royal proportions for their hearts to meet as one. (2021)
Recap/Wine Thoughts
NYC gal, Cassie gets a promotion from her boyfriend/boss, Ethan. He wants to move to the upper west side, but Cassie can’t discuss that now she is on her way to her hometown for Christmas. Cassie’s mother recently passed away, and she plans to continue the Winter Festival in her memory.
Two butlers search a castle for Prince Nicolas. He has gone missing. Queen Mary is livid and sends a cute butler named Arthur to locate him. Authur calls the Prince and begs him to come home, but Price Nicolas is on a mission to remind himself what Christmas is all about.
Prince Nicolas is in Cassie’s town hiding in plain sight. He runs into Cassie in a book store, and they don’t hit it off. Prince Nicolas looks into the town’s history and becomes fascinated by the Winter Festival. He offers to help plan the festival, but Cassie refuses.
Also, the town library is closing. so that is bad.
Arthur finds Prince Nicolas in town and almost blows his cover. He wants the Prince to come home because he will abdicate the throne and end the family line if he isn’t home by Christmas. The Prince doesn’t want an arranged marriage and just wants to do something good for others for once. Arthur agrees to stay and help plan the Winter Festival if the Prince goes back to the castle afterward.
It turns out that Cassie’s mother’s letters brought Nicolas to town. Cassie thinks it is serendipitous that they are both in town working on the winter festival brought together by her mother. Cassie starts to re-think New York and Ethan.
Cassie finds out about Prince Nicolas’s secret. She tells him he is throwing away family traditions and can’t understand why she keeps the winter festival going for her mother. With Cassie angry at him, Prince Nicolas goes back home for the coronation, and Queen Mary is pleased.
The Prince and the queen come to the winter festival and move the coronation to the town. She even offers to reign for a little longer so he can find himself with Cassie. Queen Mary also saves the library.
