Synopsis (via Lifetime)
The Hacienda de la Sierra is Emma’s (Duff) favorite place to spend the holiday season and her boyfriend, Liam (O’Connell), has been secretly planning to propose to her there, surrounded by both their families. Emma is delighted when she arrives to find the whole family bunch there. Of course, no holiday gathering is complete without drama, and soon the families are bickering over every detail! The added stress from trying to blend the two families eventually takes a toll on Emma and Liam, who start questioning their own relationship. Now just days before Christmas, the two families realize that they’re going to have to work together in order to reunite Emma and Liam! Blending Christmas also stars Beth Broderick, Christopher Knight, Greg Evigan, Mike Lookinland, Barry Williams, Susan Olsen, Robbie Rist, Telma Hopkins, and Jennifer Elise Cox (2021)
Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie starts off in Chicago. Emma enjoys drinks with her friends Trish and Kat. They insist that her hunk boyfriend will propose to her this holiday season. They are right! Liam is practicing his speech when Emma comes home. She tells him that she went to a resort as a kid is suddenly closing. Emma wants to go back for one last Christmas and say goodbye to the place.
Liam asks Emma’s dad and his boss about the Hacienda La Sierra. He wants to propose to her there with the family to surprise Emma. He rounds up the family members, who happen to all be Bradys.) via zoom (Which really confuses Beth Broaderick.) The Bradys think it is hilarious that they are in zoom boxes that resemble the show’s opening. Jennifer Elise Cox even fills in for Eve Plum, delivering a “Michelle, Michelle, Michelle.” ala, “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha.” It is awful. Who asked for this?
Emma is very excited to head to the resort and partake in Christmas activities. Liam spends most of the first part of the movie trying not to spoil the surprise.
Once Emma is surprised, she barely reacts. Also, Liam chickens out and doesn’t propose. What the hell? We are really going to drag this out. Beth Broderick plays Liam’s mom, and she tells him to get to it and stop being so nervous.
The family goes on a hike, and Liam almost proposes, but he drops the ring and has to find it in the dirt. Then they make snowmen out of rocks. I hate this.
Emma and Liam get into an argument about who knows what. We do get some shirtless Liam, so that is nice!
A montage happens for absolutely no reason.
The families come together and throw a special hoedown for Emma and Liam, so he will finally propose!!! When Liam actually does, he goes a pretty generic route.
Nicole turns out to be a Christmas Ghost angel. Whocares!!!!

This movie is cheaply shot; the lighting was terrible on the interiors. Probably the worst movie of this holiday season.
