Synopsis (via Lifetime)

A well-known Hollywood actress is suddenly tormented by a stalker. Her sister and high school boyfriend try to figure out who is tormenting her. Starring Meta Golding, Christian Keyes, and Isabelle Du (2022).

Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie begins with a British woman tied to a bed in sexy lingerie. A person stands over the bed wearing a potato sack and a knife. Then the woman tears off the bedpost with her restraints. The director yells cut, and the actors complain about the safety on set.

Tanya Moore is a famous actress. She starts to think someone is targeting her when her identity is stolen. She asks her staff to handle it so she can spend alone time with her co-star/boyfriend, Adam. That romantic plan is cut short after Tanya receives a text to check Adam’s phone and sees he is having an affair. (There is video evidence.) She kicks his ass out!

Someone tips off the media, and paparazzi are all over the celebrity breakup. Tanya receives creepy calls from a scary voice telling her that the past will return to haunt her. Then someone terrorizes her at home during a long boring sequence.

Tanya rushes to her hometown and asks her half-sister Shelly to let her stay with them until things die down. Shelly is skeptical but decides to help family, even though they haven’t spoken in 12 years.

Damon, an old neighbor and crush is also back in town. Marcus, the town sheriff, also takes his shot at Tanya. She is doing a bad job at laying low.

Andre shows up, and Tanya and Damon think he is her stalker. Shelly clears up the misunderstanding but still has the police take her ex-boyfriend into custody.

Tanya’s house catches on fire, and she starts to think her stalker is trying to kill her. The police wonder if she burnt her house herself for insurance money.

Shelly and Tanya talk about the past, and we learn that Tanya didn’t just leave for a dream of stardom; she was pregnant. They seem to be repairing their relationship until Shelly suddenly leaves to “avoid the craziness.” (She leaves a letter with Damon.)

Tanya finds a hole in the wall and sees someone living between the drywall in her childhood home. That person is obsessed with her. Tanya grabs a knife and a flashlight and finds the person. Damon rescues her, and they unmask the person, who is allegedly Marcus!

Tanya reunites with the daughter she gave up for stardom. It is played as a touching reunion, but this movie has been so dull I find it hard to even care.

Just when it seems like the movie is wrapping up, Tanya notices that the handwriting on Shelly’s note matches the suspect list Damon wrote. Tanya and her LA friend, Riley, break into Damon’s basement and call the police. Shelly is in the basement with another dead guy.

Damon shows up and asks Tanya why she can’t just accept the happy life he laid out for her. He admits to have been watching her his whole life. Tanya acts like she is relieved he is taking care of her and loves her. She is lying, of course, Tanya says she wants to raise her daughter with Damon and promises to never hurt him. Then she stabs him while reminding him that she is a REALLY GOOD ACTRESS!

They fight until Tanya goes tumbling down the stairs. Then she stabs him one last time and says that she is “done running.” Good for her! I wish she was in a better movie!
