Recap/Wine Thoughts
Hottie working girl boss Sarah Russell, is trying to woo the city for a big architecture pitch. Melissa Carling is organizing a ten year reunion and is married to the son of the developers. She goes to land the deal.
Meanwhile, Scott works for a sports agency, and his condescending boss wants to take him on as a client. She has her eyes set on pro athlete Gareth Hart, who just happened to go to high school with Scott and Sarah.
Sarah and Scott run into each other in the hotel lobby and are greeted by a Santa-looking fellow who wants to put them in the honeymoon suite. Their rooms are right next to one another, and the former couple are annoyed. He still wears the watch Kate gave him as a graduation gift. She wears a snowflake necklace he gave her, too. (Which is embarrassing!)

The Santa check-in guy winds a large clock in the lobby at midnight, and Sarah and Scott go back in time. Mr. Fletcher, a dead former guidance counselor with a sexy beard, greets them. (He has only been dead for two months and is figuring out what he is doing, which is a funny bit.) He flashes them back to their torn-down high school and talks about who they were back then. Sarah was valedictorian, and Scott was a promising athlete.

Then, they see themselves in a chemistry class where they have terrible wigs but cute chemistry. Then we see them going off to college and breaking up on CHRISTMAS!
The following day, Kate and Scott laugh off the night as a strange dream. Sarah is quick to try to woo Melissa with gifts and praises, but Melissa seems more interested in reconnecting with classmates. Scott doesn’t do it better, and Gareth doesn’t remember him from their school days either.

Sara arranged a one-on-one game and invited their classmates to watch. (Why these guys aren’t shirtless, I’ll never know!) Scott wins and gets a five-minute sit-down with Gareth, who doesn’t feel like he would be a priority at Sscott’s agency. Gareth asks them to change their company mission statement. Scott apologizes for not signing him all those years ago when Gareth was a rookie.

Joy is a virtual ghost who shows up on Scott and Sarah’s laptops while they work through the night. Joy shows up as an insane-looking CGI robot. She shows Sarah that she overworked her assistant, who had a sick mother at home and won’t be home for Christmas. Scott’s boss is confirmed evil. Joy gives them both the gift of a day without technology and breaks all their devices.

Scott and Sarah succeeded without technology and connected with human beings. Then, they connect themselves and kiss while on a Christmas walk. Then the tech turns back on, and they go right back into old patterns.

There is a knock at the hotel door, and it is Santa Clerk. He (not silently) shows them their Christmas futures. The ghosts of Christmas futures turn out to be their jaded selves. They are both at the top of their industry, but have gone morally bankrupt in the process. Oh, and Scott is marrying another woman who is NOT Sarah.

Sarah and Scott still have time to change their ways! Sarah wakes up, hus the maid, and calls her assistant to give her the holiday off to be with her family. Sarah meets with “the company” and lands the deal by saving a community center in her plans.
Scott also signs Gareth as a client and starts his own agency.
The two reunite at the High School reunion, which really had nothing to do with this movie other than a plot device, and wish each other a merry Christmas. They kiss, they are in love, the end!

Side Note/Stray Thoughts
UPtv movies have been notoriously third-rate and low-budget, but this is at a Lifetime level. (Spoke too soon! CGI Christmas robot ruined it!)
