Synopsis (via Lifetime)

After a whirlwind courtship, Maggie marries the man of her dreams in Alan. But things quickly change when she meets Pam, who also claims to be married to Alan. Adversaries at first, the two women team-up to discover Alan has financially drained many other wives, as well as discarded those families in a wake of lies. Once Alan realizes his secrets are out, it is a race for his wives to band together and plot the ultimate revenge. Starring Kristi Murdock, Christina Licciardi, and Adam Harper (2024).

Recap/Wine Thoughts.

Maggies goes for a night run (the most dangerous kind!) Then she runs through a creepy underground tunnel, and the lights go out. A hooded figure grabs her, and Maggie screams.(Yikes!)

One month earlier, we see Maggie working at a local library, of all places. She closes early (Like daylight) and heads to a local restaurant, where her card is declined. She comes home to her beautiful home with a wrap-around porch and talks to the neighbor.

Maggie is excited to celebrate her anniversary with her husband, Alan. She pulls out all the stops, including a delicious-looking salad, lasagna, and cake, all while wearing sexy lingerie! Then, Maggie gets a last-minute text from her husband saying he is stuck in Ohio. BUT IT IS A PRANK?!!? (What a jerk! She thinks it’s funny, tho.) Maggie asks her husband if she can join him on his next company trip, but he says it is prohibited. (But, like, why?)

Without her husband around, Maggie hangs out with her neighbor, Selma. Selma asks for a ride to a date in a town 45 minutes away. As she is pulling out of the parking lot of the mall, Maggie thinks she sees Alan’s very noticeable car. She follows that bitch!

The car parks at a house that looks highly similar to Maggie’s house, and Maggie sneaks into the driveway to verify that it is, in fact, her husband’s car. (She does this by the purple dice hanging from the rearview mirror, haha) Then, a woman jumps out with a knife and tells her to get away from her husband, Alan’s car. Maggie is bewildered and is like… uhhh, that MY husband’s named Alan’s car.

They both pull out their phone and hold up the lock screen. Photos of Alan pop up on their screens. (Or headshots of Adam Harper.) The women are confused and upset. Pam has also been married to Alan for three years. She is less upset than Maggie because Pam has had her suspicious. She also knows Alan has been stealing from a joint bank account and warns Maggie. (Maggie checks her accounts while chugging wine and smashes things when she sees 36K is missing.)

They team up and walk in slow motion to Alan’s work. Pete from payroll gives them the information they are looking for. (Well, they steal the bank info by working together.) Another wife, Kristen Baker, is listed as Alan’s beneficiary. When they go to another bank, they learn that there is ANOTHER WIFE NAMED HEATHER! (That is four wives in 20 mins!) The only person who might know something is Alan’s mom, who is tucked away at a retirement home.

Maggie decides to go home and look through Alan’s things while Pam picks up Alan from the airport. He almost catches Maggie when Alan makes an unexpected visit. He is suspicious about her being in his office, but she pretends to do yoga, which works!

At Shady Tree Retirement Home, (Thank you for the Golden Girls Nod!) Maggie and Pam learn that Alan needs to pay his mother’s bills. His mother explains that she left all her money and estate in his care. She also tells them about Alan’s many girlfriends. They leave a tater tot casserole and hightail it to wife #3’s house.

Redhead, Kristen, only needs a little convincing to work on a revenge plan with the other wives. They hatch a plan while drinking wine by the fire. Kristen’s son helps them too, but he is creepy. (We later learn Kristen and Max are using the other wives to help locate a large sum of money Alan is hiding.)

Pam follows Alan and sees him with a new wife, a newlywed. It seems like Pam is working with Kristen and Max as well. The only one in the dark is Maggie. Speaking of being in the dark, Maggie goes for that night run we saw at the top of the film.

Two guys bring Maggie to the lake and tell her Alan hired them to scare her. They give her a cell number and ask her to call them once she finds the money and can pay Alan’s debt. $30,000.

I think wife number 5 shows up, and her name is Adrian. They have been married for five years, and she needs to catch up on Alan, being married to multiple women. Maggie brings her to the wife. Workroom, and she tells them that Alan is collecting a pension from a dead wife, Heather.

Heather’s sister meets with Maggie and Pam. She tells them she suspects Heather was murdered due to her shellfish allergy. There was also ANOTHER dead wife named Amy, who died of cancer. (This is a lot to follow! But we had to work the seven wives in there somehow! It’s in the title.)

Maggie worries that Alan is onto them, especially when he tries to get her to drink his “famous lemonade.” Alan follows Maggie to Pam’s house and learns they are working together.

Ominus Lemonade

Max works with his dad to get his mother’s money back. The money comes with a price. He convinces the other wives that Alan is hiding money in his dead ex-wives’ bank accounts WITH their maiden names. Max might be playing both sides, IDK!

Maggie meets back up with her kidnappers and negotiates a deal. It’s like half of what they were asking for; it’s legit wild. She has no bargaining power.

Alan is surprised when all the wives and Max confront him. He tries to lie out of it, but no one takes the bait. He ends up running away, only to be arrested outside the building.

The wives are happy that everything is over!!! They plan to split the money evenly and with cash.

This should have been the end, but there is so much more!

Max and Kristen hide money in the dishwasher and plan to pull a fast one on the other wives. They celebrate with pizza but are distracted by a fire in the backyard. Alan makes bail and sneaks into the house to steal the dishwasher’s cash.

With the money all gone, the wives decide to move on. Alan, on the other hand, isn’t done with Maggie. He shows up at her house with a knife, but Maggie is onto him and has the kidnappers handle him. They drag him away.

Alan LOVES his car so much that he has a framed picture with it. Maggie smashes the picture, and behind the frame is a wall full of cash.

The wives celebrate, and all of Alan’s debts are paid! Maggie sells the Corvette so Max can go to college. Yay for him!

Side Note/Stray Thoughts

The movie had a lot going on, but also nothing happened that wasn’t just explained.

We started off campy and fun, but got lost in plot and throwing in overwrought twists.

Me trying to follow this movie.
