After her aunt is found dead having mysteriously fallen overboard on a cruise ship, Olivia is thrown into rough seas as her uncle’s secret past is brought to life and more deaths occur. Starring Skye Coyne, Ryan Carnes, Matthew Pohlkamp, Carly Reeves, Gina Hiraizumi, and Tyler Price (2024).
Recap/Wine Thoughts
An overworked RN comes home and draws herself a bath. She hears someone come into the house and thinks it is her boyfriend. She should have checked behind the shower curtain because that is where her killer hides. He jumps out and drowns her.
Olivia drops her Aunt Theresa and husband, Ian, off for their ten-day cruises. She takes a picture of them by the boat before sending them on their way. Olivia isn’t a fan of cruises.
Ian is a grump and not into cruises either; he is into his wife. (Even if she is driving him crazy by indulging in every amenity that this ship has to offer.)

At a fancy dinner, Theresa sees a man with a beard and becomes unnerved. She drugs Ian’s drink to make him pass out so she can meet with the bearded man in his cabin. The man’s name is Colin, and Theresa has been having an affair with him. She is upset because Colin surprises her and says she wants to repair her 10-year marriage to Ian.
The boat alarm for choppy weather goes off, and Theresa heads out to return to her room. She bumps into a young teenager and tells the girl to be careful.

Ian wakes up from the alarm and looks for his wife. He worries she has gone overboard after finding her purse on the boat deck. Ian sits with the captain, and they ask if Teresa is suicidal. He meets with the US Embassy to tell him everything that happened. Next, Ian calls Olivia to tell her that her Aunt is missing and rescue boats are looking for her.

The police find a body, and Detective Gina Hiraizumi tells Ian how sorry she is for his loss. The body could take a while to ship, so she tells him to hold the funeral without one.
Olivia has a lot of questions for Ian and uses her journalism skills to get to the bottom of what happened to Aunt Theresa. Another reporter is working on the uptick in crime on Cruise Ships. Olivia has no comment.

At the funeral, a Lawyer named Ellen approaches Olivia to discuss her Aunt’s estate. There are many assets, and Aunt Theresa was in the process of removing Ian as the beneficiary, which would give Ian a motive for foul play.
Ian asks Olivia to help him clean out Theresa’s things. He gives Olivia a box of jewelry, and there is a bracelet that Aunt Tresea always wore. Ian says that the ship discouraged bringing jewelry on the boat, so she left it behind. Olivia casually asks about the will, and Ian confirms that he knows they are each other’s sole beneficiaries.

Olivia decides to talk to one of Aunt Teresa’s co-workers named, Diane. She isn’t that helpful but does seem to think Aunt Teresa was having an affair.
Someone leaves a note on Olivia’s doorstep that reads, “STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING!” and then she gets a text “OR YOU WILL GET HURT.” Olivia panics and chugs a glass of water. Then she does some online sleuthing, looking into Ian’s job and digital life, which only goes back a few years.

Ian changed his name 11 years ago, according to public records. He was also married to the murdered Bathtub RN at the time of her death. She hears someone in the back room and goes to the parking lot to look for who is spying on her. A stranger calls her name and knocks Olivia unconscious. Olivia wakes up in the hospital with a concussion.

The reporter comes back and tries to convince Olivia to work with her. Olivia tells the reporter to stay away from her, or she will call the police. The reporter is murdered in the bathroom.
The autopsy comes back, and Aunt Teresa doesn’t drown; she is strangled and thrown overboard.
Olivia goes undercover and jumps on a short cruise. She flirts with a steward who tells her that it is a very safe ship to try to get him talking. She sneaks into the security office, takes pictures of the incident reports, and gets the name of the teenager who saw Aunt Teresa with Colin.
The teenager doesn’t share much with Olivia except for the fact that Teresa was having an affair!
Next, Olivia sits down with the father of Bathtub RN, and he is 100% certain that Ian killed her. He always had a bad feeling about Ian, and something wasn’t right. Colin lived with them and was a college friend of Ian’s. Olivia sets out to find Colin and see what he knows. She tells the lawyer where she is going, just in case.

Olivia tracks down Colin’s favorite bar from social media and stops by to see if he is there. He is at the bar, and she tries to play it cool. He takes the bait, and they toast for “long days.” He is quite the flirt. She gets him talking about the cruise, and he tells her that it was a great place to rest and recharge.
They take it back to his place, and Olivia notices that there are no pictures of family or friends. He kisses her, and she excuses herself to the bathroom to do some snooping. She looks through his things and finds a cruise brochure. Olivia gets out her pepper spray and fakes an illness to get out of there quickly.
Colin grabs her by the arm and tells her he was sending threatening messages and killed everyone for the insurance money. (Including Ian, at some point, I missed that!) Olivia pepper sprays him and runs out of the house.

Olivia goes to the police, and detective Gina Hiraizumi isn’t that helpful. (But her hair is 100%) They park an armored car out front for Olivia’s safety. He drives Olivia home and asks for a cup of black coffee. Olivia goes inside to make coffee in her cute pink Keurig.
The officer is dead when she gets outside, and Colin grabs her. Olivia locks him out of her house, but he sneaks in through a sliding backdoor he opens with a pocket knife?!?!?!
Olivia’s roommate, Callie, comes home at the worst time and finds Colin lurking in the house. Olivia smashes him over the head with a vase and then stabs Colin with his own knife.

Four months later, Callie and Olivia take a cruise in Aunt Teresa’s memory. WUT?

Side Note/Stray Thoughts
They mystery didn’t really pay off for me. I would have loved if Ian and Colin were working together in the end.
Did Olivia inherit everything?

I enjoyed this movie but missed the last ten minutes, so I’m glad U gave the Synopsis.
Will a Rerun of it be on???
I’m confused. Ian and Colin were working together until Ian got greedy and tried going back on their deal. Colin killed him bc he assumed Ian would give up their plan.
