Synopsis (via Lifetime)

A grounded teen becomes convinced that her hot new neighbor is actually a dangerous killer–and when no one else believes her, she takes matters into her own hands. Stars Sage Moore, Kia Dorsey, and Devante Winfrey (2024).

Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie starts with someone taking out the trash! And there is a body inside.

Hayley and her sister, Diane, are packing up their mother’s things for a fresh start since she died. Diane is a flight attendant who travels for work. (Obviously.) She is now Hayley’s new guardian, and they are moving into a new townhouse. (where there is a hot shirtless neighbor!!!! His name is Jason. )

Well, hello sir!

Diane quickly heads out of town for a Tokyo flight, leaving Hayley to fend for herself. (She’s not a great guardian!) Since Hayley is a teenager, she throws a party. Her friends, Chrissy and Max, think Hayley is cool until the police arrive. Hayley thinks she sees Jason in the window and can see into his backyard. (Did Jason call the police?) Diane almost loses custody!!!

Chrissy hangs out with Hayley at her house, leaving them a lot of time to oggle Jason while he works on his motorcycle. They think he is fine and flirt with him. He doesn’t stop do anything to deter them, which is weird. He leaves for a date, and when he comes back, the girls peep out and see she is hot.

In the middle of the night, Chrissy and Hayley are having a sleepover, and they hear screams. They look out the window and see silhouettes in the window. Was it a sexy time, or was it MURDER?!?! The next day, Hayley tells Diane about what she saw, and Diane patronizes her little sister.

Remember being a kid and dreaming of never doing homework again.

While doing homework, Hayley sees a missing person report on the news and is convinced it is the woman from date night. Hayley asks Chrissy to help her break into Jason’s house. Hayley looks around his shed and tries to sneak in through a window but is almost caught by Jason. Hayley calls the tip line and reports Jason, but he charms them.

Hayley busts out the binoculars and starts watching Jason. He is also watching her and trying to woo Diane on a date. (Which doesn’t take much.) Diane and Jason go on a picnic date, and Hayley sees Jason almost try to strangle her sister. When Hayley asks Diane how the date went, she says he is just not connected to his emotions like most guys.

These are for bird watching, right?

Jason brings over another date, but Chrissy and Hayley won’t let this date go missing. They start a fire to make sure nothing happens. Next, they devise a plan for Chrissy to flirt with Jason to distract him while Hayley steals the keys to the shed. Hayley finds postcards with kiss marks and dates in the shed. They are the mark of the Kiss of Death Killer. (Found online!)

The cellophane wrap really bugged me for some reason

Hayley sees Jason loading up a truck and jumps in the bed. She calls the police and tells them that the Kiss of Death Killer is dumping bodies. The police officer shows up, and they don’t believe Hayley but check the items in the truck. They find a CPR doll, and everyone laughs it off. The police take Hayley home, and she is really grounded.

This cop was so unimpressed!!!

Her friends go up to the cabin, and Jason is more interested in Chrissy than Hayley. He puts a tracker on their car and follows them to the cabin.

Hayley sneaks into Jason’s house and finds a body in a cooler; she was right all along. Diane sees the body too and wants to call the police, but Jason sends them a picture of Chrissy and says he wants his postcards back or he will kill all Hayley’s friends. He tells them to meet at the cabin, NO POLICE!

Hayley meets him and demands to know why he killed all the women. Jason tells her he lost his parents young and was in boarding school. He smashed all the car windows and has been chasing that high ever since? Hayley throws the postcard in the fire.

Burn Baby Burn!

There is a struggle, and Diane jumps in to save her sister. They get a fire poker from somewhere and stab Jason to death. Everyone is saved, yay!!!!

Side Note/Stray Thoughts

Lifetime doesn’t do Serial Killers too often; this was a good way to go, so we don’t have to see a bunch of people getting horribly murdered.

  1. Umm shirtless neighbor in jeans…I would say really?!, but I have a neighbor who is just like that at times. I literally roll my eyes in my head and think “What is this a Lifetime movie?”
The way he talked to the sister and the girls is really cringe. Didn’t find him attractive at all. And this sister relationship hit very close to home. I can relate to Hayley on so many levels. Her sister was a bit infuriating, especially since you can tell the age gap isn’t much. Again…so relatable. Was so happy Hayley was justified in the end. Did I miss something about why social services needs to check up on a minor living with a sibling after a parent’s death?

  2. WHY DO YOU PEOPLE ALWAYS USE MIXED PEOPLE WITH A BLACK SCRIPT! THEY NEED TO BE 100 percent black, to make it as real as possible!! Stop it!
