When Lena (Jorja Cadence) – an Amish woman with a checkered past – realizes her daughter has been abducted, she is forced to turn to the only person who can help: her estranged best friend, Skye (Elise Bauman) who’s renounced the Amish way of life and found fame on social media.

Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie starts in Amish Country, as promised. There is a horse and buggy and people in long pajamas.

In the middle of the night, a former Amish named Lena rushes back after a bad night at DA CLUB with a suitcase! Aaron opens the door, and he surprisingly doesn’t have a beard. He tells Lena that he isn’t worried and asks her to marry him. Perhaps, drunk and caught up in the moment, Lena agrees. She wakes up after having a sexy time with Aaron and buries a suitcase full of cash and a cell phone.

Cut to five years later, Lena and Aaron (now with a beard!) watch their daughter play. They suffered many miscarriages and finally have their baby girl. Aaron hopes the child will find a good man to guide her, and Lena is not into the patriarchy when it comes to her daughter. She wants her daughter to be independent and think for herself, unlike her after she went back to being Amish.
To spice things up, Lena attempts to give Aaron a BJ. He is horrified and calls her a sinner. Then he accuses her of learning tricks from other men while she was away.
Lena and Aaron drive and see a man lying in the road. They stop to help and are attacked. Their daughter, Miriam, is kidnapped, and the kidnappers write on Lena’s arm, NO POLICE OR SHE DIE. Lena and Aaron lie to the cops and have to recuse their daughter the Amish way! They also write a location and 500K ransom.

Lena rushes to dig up the suitcase, and Aaron wants to know what is happening. When she starts telling him, and Aaron can’t handle that, telling her she should be subservient because she is a woman, Lena locks her husband in a shed and rushes off with the cash. She is going to get back her daughter, whatever it takes.

At the drop-off, the kidnappers grab Lena and take her to a chair. They put makeup on her and take a few Polaroid pictures before telling her she never gets her daughter back. Then they take the money and leave her.

Next, we meet a non-binary ex-amish turned influencer named Skye. (Played by bisexual actor Elise Bauman)They left with Lena five years ago but never went back. Lena shows up at Skye’s door and asks for help. Skye reluctantly agrees to help. Skye calls around and asks for favors to track down the kidnappers.
Lena comes clean with Skye, who she thinks is after her and her family. Five years ago, Lena’s boyfriend was involved with some bad guys and was murdered while Lena is in the bathroom getting ready to go to da club.
The kidnappers find Skye’s social media and can locate them pretty quickly. Posing as a delivery man, the kidnappers convince Skye to let him into their apartment. Lean is taking a shower but hears a fight and comes out to stop the kidnapper from hurting her friend. Lena knocks him out so bad they have to take him to a hospital, but Lena doesn’t want to get the authorities involved.

The cops pull up as Lena and Skye are trying to carry the kidnapper out of the apartment. Lena does some quick thinking and lying and gets the office to take the kidnapper to the hospital for them. Then, the friends go to the kidnapper’s house to look for clues. (They also have his cell phone.)
They don’t know a lot about who the kidnapper is, but they go through what they do know. The Polaroid is a tip-off to the fact that the kidnapper is Amish. They jump to the conclusion that the kidnapper is AARON!

Lena goes back to Amish Country with Skye, and they find the daughter. Aaron sneaks up behind Skye and knocks them out. Then Aaron tells Lena that he was to talk to her and forces her downstairs with a hammer.

Aaron goes into the wildest monologue about Lena corrupting him and his daughter. He found the money and plans to go to the Nebraska Amish. Lena renounces the Amish life and stalls until Skye comes up behind him and hits him with a shovel. Aaron falls out the Barn window but survives.

The police arrive and arrest Aaron. Skye sees their mother and waves, but the mother walks away disgusted. Lena tells Skye they are family and hopes to start life outside Amish Country. Skye is happy to help. (I truly thought they would end up together in the end, which would have been EPIC.)

My question is how did Aaron find the guys who kidnapped the kid? It’s not like he hangs out with criminals. Another unanswered question
