Lifetime released over 100 new release movies in 2024. It can be tough to cut that list down to the top 10 of the year. However, we’ve watched them all, so you don’t have to! Taking into account the following criteria: Star power, Lifetime tropes, and viewership ratings. Here are the MUST watch Lifetime Movies of the past year.

Number 10: Blood Sweat and Cheer
Star Power: Tammin Sursok of Pretty Little Liars. Who doesn’t love the Austrian actress who fully commits to every role she plays, no matter how big or small.
Lifetime Tropes: We’ve got Identity theft, cheerleading, falling down the stairs, and talking to yourself in the mirror. This demented take involves going back to school and pretending to be a student. Imagine Josie Grosie from Never Been Kissed, but as a murderous mother.
Viewership: Originally released on Tubi in 2023, this acquired Lifetime Movie boasts 234 ratings on IMDB. It also has 553 watches on Letterboxd. (Which, for a Lifetime movie is a lot!)
Number 9: Secret Life of the Pastor’s Wife
Star Power: The cast, while very good, is mostly unknowns. (Or as my favorite podcast Who Weekly would say, Lifetime “Whos?” ) The draw here is veteran Lifetime Movie director, Danny J. Boyle. (Not to be confused with the Slumdog Millionaire director.)
Lifetime Tropes: There is nothing more “Lifetime” than having an affair with the pool boy. There is also sex tapes, threatening notes, and a high body count. Sure this move is blasphemous AF, but that is why we prefer Lifetime over Hallmark. It “goes there!”
Viewership: This 2024 Lifetime Movie has 116 ratings on IMDB and 70 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 8: confessions of a cam girl
Star Power: None (Sorry, not to be rude!)
Lifetime Tropes: Online stalker, sexploitation, threatening messages, and confused//out of touch parents. This movie is giving After School Special and that is why we loved it! Lifetime discovers the existence of Only Fans and this is how they approached that subject. Cautionary tale, but also so ridiculously teen camp.
Viewership: The Lifetime Movie Network film has 185 ratings on IMDB and 131 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 7: She’s Obsessed With My Husband
Star Power: Matthew Pohlkamp is the most reliable Lifetime Hunk. (And he’s been on Grey’s) This movie also features Taylor Castro who is Lifetime’s version of Jenna Ortega!
Lifetime Tropes: Shirtless hunks, old high school flame returns, stealing my man, syringes and chloroform, sitting in prison plotting revenge. This very campy movie is a fun watch and the wardrobe is even more over the top.
Viewership: This Lifetime Movie has 173 ratings on IMDB and 217 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 6: The BAD ORPHAN
Star Power: Breaking Bad’s Betsy Brandt in her first Lifetime movie.
Lifetime Tropes: Adoption, bad kids, based on a true story. You didn’t think we’d forget about Lifetime’s Ripped From the Headlines series. The topical and usually rushed true crime movies that capitalize on public interest while the iron is hot! This is the best of those this year,
Viewership: This Lifetime Movie has 263 ratings on IMDB and 394 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 5: The Ice Rink Murders
Star Power: Maddison Bullock stars and wrote this movie, she also does her own skating. That to me is ICONIC!
Lifetime Tropes: Masked killers, high body count, rivalries, “inspired” by true events. When Lifetime said here is a figure skating Lifetime movie, I said “THANK YOU!” I have no notes for this movie. Have you ever seen someone killed by a Zamboni? I have!
Viewership: This Lifetime Movie has 112 ratings on IMDB and 71 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 4: The WRONG LIFE COACH
Star Power: Ms. Vivica A. Fox! (Eric Roberts also makes an appearance.)
Lifetime Tropes: Too many to count! The long running “wrong” series delivers again. Nothing is more satisfying than hearing Ms. Vivica rattle off the title of the movie. She does this after capturing the bad guy, “I guess you chose the WRONG, title of the movie.”
Viewership: This Lifetime Movie has 163 ratings on IMDB and 166 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 3: The Manny
Star Power: Michael Evans Behling might not be a household name, but he sure is HOT!
Lifetime Tropes: Male objectification, nanny storyline, fake IDs, falling down the stairs, insane kills. I’m not sure what is happening with the Tubi acquisitions with Lifetime. This 2022 film was picked up by Lifetime early in the year and didn’t disappoint. Very horny and campy.
Viewership: This Lifetime Movie has 173 ratings on IMDB and 216 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 2: Be Careful what you say
Star Power: Doug Campbell has multiple entries in my top ten of 2024. Which is no surprise. He is the all star Lifetime director of Stalked by my Doctor series and Deadly Mile High Club.
Lifetime Tropes: Serial killer wall, bad photoshopping, viral videos, revenge! This late in the year release was buried in the Christmas season, but is a gem of a Lifetime movie. Since it is about a podcaster being stalked by a listener, I might have related a little too much!
Viewership: This Lifetime Movie has ratings on 37 IMDB and 18 watches on Letterboxd.
Number 1: Gaslit by my husband
Star Power: Jana Kramer shines here as an abused housewife who doubts her own recollections of traumatic events.
Lifetime Tropes: Female empowerment, overcoming domestic violence, and gas lighting. Lifetime using buzz words from a few years ago is very on brand. This is a well done movie bringing to light spousal abuse and the trauma associated with it.
Viewership: This Lifetime Movie has ratings on 308 IMDB and 214 watches on Letterboxd.
