Recap/Wine Thoughts

Iconic hair TBH

The movie begins on date night, or is it murder night? We see a blonde woman running for her life with a high pony. She doesn’t make it out of the garage alive.

Three months earlier, at an open house, we met a real estate agent, Anne, who talks Terri into signing on the dotted line impulsively. Terri leaves the country to open an office in Paris.

Five months later, these time jumps are already happening, haha. The homeowner, Terri, comes home, ignores her voicemails, and plops into bed. There is a cup of water by the bed, and Terri feels like someone is in the home because someone IS. He is hot and in a tank top, wielding a baseball bat. His name is Marcus, and he claims to be the owner of the house. They call the police, who determine that there has been some type of homeowner fraud.

Terri is arrested because there are numerous large purchases made under her name, including cars, iPads, and homes; Terri’s identity was stolen by Anne. A hot detective promises to help Terri sort things out and sends her back home to her hot co-homeowner.

While getting out of a cab, Terri drops her keys and is almost run over by a car. Marcus jumps out and saves her. He hurts his arm, and Terri patches him up; she tells him that she is cash-poor, and so is Marcus, who is a personal trainer. They agree to cohabitate.

This movie made everything so horny

Marcus is a good cook, and he wins Terri over. They get to know one another. Terri is VERY type A, and Marcus is type B. He wants to live day by day on a boat. Terri has a five-year plan, which she is rewriting since she got passed over for a promotion she deserved. They both were conned by Anne.

They meet with Marcus’ lawyer, and Terri is rude as hell to him. The lawyer tells Terri to be mad at the lady who conned her and not him. He also warns her not to investigate herself and to leave it to the police. Marcus promises they will figure things out together.

Terri meets the eccentric neighbor who loves to play cards. Julia mistakes Terri for the previous neighbor, Helen. She says Helen just disappeared and sold the home to Marcus. Terri looks through the garage and finds some things that belonged to Helen.

MARCUS IS NAKED IN THE SHOWER. The movie scores it as if it were a scary moment, but you know it’s a sexy one.

Marcus and Terri attempt to hack into Helen’s laptop to determine what is happening. Helen was looking into real estate fraud and the sale of the home. She was corresponding with someone named Isabella, and Terri tracked down the location of the account to an old abandoned summer camp. Terri investigates while wearing an extremely long coat.

Someone is in the backseat of her car and attacks Terri. Helen’s laptop is stolen, and the hot detective makes a report, but also thinks Terri is lying. He conducts a background check on Marcus, and it comes back clean. Marcus asks Terri to stop investigating and putting herself in danger. He cares about her more than the money he has lost on the fake home sale. Marcus invites her to go on a boat vacation with him.

They totally hook up, and it’s hot, but Terri pumps the breaks because she is not a slut like me. She goes next door to conduct further investigation, undistracted by Marcus. Terri calls Isabella, who was also a victim of the scam. Isabella has pictures and invites Terri to her house to see them.

Terri visits Isabella, but no one answers the door, so Terri lets herself in. She finds the photos burned in the sink and a card for Marcus’ lawyer, OH, and Isabella’s dead body!

Anna meets with the lawyer and tells him they need to tie up loose ends before they sell the townhouse for another million.

Marcus and Terri have sex while their neighbor is getting murdered! (Like, come on, guys.) The next morning, Terri takes up alone, and Marcus is downstairs cooking breakfast. Their romance bubble bursts when Marcus asks Terri to stop investigating and says he won’t let her go out. Terri will NOT be controlled by any man.

Terri goes to Marcus’ workplace, and they inform him that he is a creep and a cyberstalker, banned from all the gyms in town. He has been targeting blonde women.

Meanwhile, Marcus meets with his lawyer and, punches him in the face and kills him. Then he punches himself in the face and slaps the shit out of himself. He tells Terri that the lawyer attacked him.

Anne shows up with a gun, and she has been working with Marcus all along. They planned to kill Terri because she is lonely and single. Anne could pull off impersonating her, but Terri came home too soon. They tie Terri up and bring her to the campsite. Marcus refuses to go along with the plan and breaks up with Anne, but she punches him in the face.

Marcus snaps Anne’s neck and expects Terri to still be in love with him?!?! He apologizes for tricking her and lying; he wants to be with Terri. She isn’t buying it but goes along with it since he is a killer, but then she sees the bodies.

Terri called the detective after she went to the gym, and he has been trailing her. The only problem is Hot Detective is the ringleader of everything. The men have a shootout while Terri defends herself with a flashlight and makes a run for the boat.

On the dock, Marcus and Terri duke it out over an oar, which he breaks over his thigh like a sexy beast. Just as Marcus seems to have overpowered Terri, she bashes his head with a rock.

One Month Later, Terri sells her home and moves on with her life.

STRAY Thoughts

What was up with the VERY long coats in this movie? Is this a trend I missed? Please, fashionistas, let me know.

  1. A character telling you to stop investigating something cause it’s “too dangerous” is a telltale sign that they’re in on it. Also, I was not expecting the incredibly high body count.

  2. Why did they ruin this woman with 80s style rouge and a coat I’m surprised she didn’t trip on?

  3. I’m rolling at all the times you said hot. I started doing a cough choking laugh LOL!!!!!
