Detective Peyton Sherman is on a flight home, when the mysterious woman beside her demands that if she ever wants to see her daughter again, she must reveal the location of influencer Erin Roberts, who is in hiding, before the plane lands.
Recap/Wine Thoughts

A podcaster with a pink mic named Erin speaks out on her show, Mondays with Erin. She is planning to release a tell-all special on her show. Erin makes the big announcement on her show, and the tea spilling could get her in trouble. Erin is followed home one night and attacked in her apartment. She survives and kills her attacker over the head with a wine bottle. Her fiancé, Andrew, rushes to be by her side.

Next, we meet a redheaded detective working on a missing girl case. Peyton Sherman is a single mother raising a teenage daughter with her boyfriend/co-worker. They are assigned to Erin’s case, and Peyton is requested by Erin because she is a woman. They move Erin to a safe house, and she is upset because HOW WILL SHE PODCAST FROM A SAFE HOUSE?!?! (Apparently, she isn’t allowed to have any of her devices or even Andrew with her. What is this witness protection?)
Erin’s computer goes missing, making Peyton wonder what Erin was going to reveal that would cause such a commotion. There is a black car following Peyton around town as she makes arrangements to move Erin to a secure location. Who is securing Peyton’s daughter, Lucy thought? An intruder breaks into the house and cases the joint. (Is that what they say?) The intruder also breaches the safe house, and it seems like there could be a mole inside the police department. (Probably, Peyton’s boyfriend, Ryan. It’s all good, though, because Peyton doesn’t trust anyone other than her daughter.)

Peyton has to go out of town for her parents’ anniversary, and Ryan offers to stay behind and take Lucy to her soccer game. Ryan is up to some shady business, which is such a shame because he is so hot.

At the airport, Peyton has trouble with the app and runs into a first-class passenger named Samantha. Samantha offers Peyton the chance to join her in first class, and there they chug mimosas. Peyton tries to text Lucy before taking off, but she has been kidnapped by that intruder. (Like thrown into an unmarked black van.) Samantha gets a text saying the situation has been taken care of, and she is working with the kidnappers.

Samantha snatches Peyton’s phone and tells her to do exactly what she says if she wants to see Lucy alive again. The whole thing was a setup. The movie is halfway through, and all this setup has been pretty boring TBH. There is some stuff with charging a computer and connecting to the wifi. Eventually, Peyron locks herself in the bathroom and tries to write on some TP for help. Samantha drags Peyton out, but bangs her head during some turbulence. While she is being checked out by the flight attendant, Peyton sends a message to Ryan for help.

A drunk lady finds the note and alerts the flight attendant, but in the words of Ms. Vivica A. Fox, she chose the wrong flight attendant! Samantha has people working with her everywhere and is well-connected. Peyton gives Samantha the address for the safe house, but it is Ryan’s address that he listed as a decoy.
The plane is prepping for landing at LAX, and police are waiting at the gate. They board the plane, and Smantha knocks Peyton out, pretending to be the detective and misleading the officers into trusting the wrong person. Peyton wakes up and rushes off the plane to save her daughter.
Meanwhile, at Ryan’s house, Lucy takes out her attacker with a rock, and it turns out to be Andrew. Ryan reunites Lucy and Peyton. He isn’t a bad guy! Yay!

There are still 10 minutes left in this movie, soooo. We need to wrap a few things up. Like, what happened to the podcaster? Where did Samantha go, and what was on that tell-all episode?

The police chief was having an affair, and Erin was going to reveal it on her podcast. That is some boring tea. Wow, all that trouble for THAT?!?
Three months later, in this never-ending movie, Peyton and Ryan work on another case. She is a guest on Erin’s new podcast! The end!
STRAY Thoughts
I really like Samantha’s nails in this one.
Things didn’t add up here. What was the deal with Andrew? Why did the podcaster’s listeners care about the police chief cheating on his wife?

TY!
First off, she killed a dude with a hoodie on with a wine bottle. Sorry. I have never been hit over the head or hit someone over the head with a wine bottle, but if hoodies are pretty thick, so how did a bottle that broke cause that much damage. Doesn’t make sense to me. If the bottle hadn’t broken, I might’ve’ believed it, but that was some thin candy glass. Anyway, I am sure I will regret not listening to you about putting a cork in it, but…need something I don’t need to pay much attention to. Also, the melodramatic music, NOPE
