Synopsis (via Lifetime)

Reeling from a devastating miscarriage and the collapse of her marriage, Drea struggles to rebuild her life when her identical twin sister Ali finds love with Ryan, a man who represents everything Drea believes she’s lost.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

Tami Roman plays twin sisters Drea and Ali. Drea suffers a miscarriage and her husband, Kevin, stands by he side. Or is he? He has another pregnant girlfriend and a dog named Cody, after breaking it off with Drae.

One of the twins stabs him in the backyard for revenge.

A woman applying lipstick in front of a vanity mirror lit by bright bulbs, with a dark curtain in the background.

The twins host a cooking show that, honestly, the Food Network should look into. “The Cooking Twins” takes one ingredient and shows twice as many recipes. Why are they dressed up like Jackie O while cooking? IDK!

Two women with long black hair sitting at a bar, each wearing brown tops, with glasses of red wine on the table, engaged in conversation.

They meet with a network executive who wants to take them to the next level. Ali is all about being the oldest twin. She was also her mother’s favorite. Drea has felt pushed to the side her whole life, and it gets even worse when the exec wants to move forward with ONLY Ali. (Drea overhears the conversation, naturally.)

A woman in a red off-the-shoulder dress and a man in a blue suit share a romantic moment at a restaurant table with wine glasses and food.

Alli is set up on a date and has a one-night stand with a guy named Ryan. Someone from Drea’s past? I missed something here. Maybe Drea is just envious of her sister and wants to replace her, you know, normal twin stuff. Drea tricks Ryan into thinking she is Alli, and he worries he can’t tell the difference.

Alli gets pregnant, and Drea goes into a tantrum. She drugged her sister’s water bottle to make her sick and allow Drea to do the show herself. Alli gets so sick that she has a miscarriage. She is caught by a producer reviewing the footage and to over her tracks, Drea pushes him into traffic.

A woman with dark hair and red lips gently resting her head on the shoulder of a man while they both lie in bed, portraying an intimate moment.

Next, Drea drugs her sister and goes over to Ryan’s house and seduces him while pretending to be her sister. The next morning, Drea tells Alli that Ryan tried to come onto her, and Alli breaks it off it him.

Ryan is disturbed and works with his friend to clear his name and win back the love of his life. He HACKS INTO HER CLOUD. He exposes Drea to her sister, Alli, and their sisterhood is ruined.

A man with a bald head and a short beard sitting at a kitchen counter, looking serious or contemplative.

Alli and Ryan go to a lake house, while Dra cuts up pictures of her and her sister. We all know nothing good happens at lake houses, especially in Lifetime movies. Ryan proposes, and it is getting romantic until the power is cut off.

Drea shows up in the same dress, makeup, and a knife. Drea wants Ryan for herself. The sisters get into an AI-lit fight sequence, complete with popping out of closets. Drea asks Alli to kill her, but Alli loves her sister.

A woman is holding a knife, appearing contemplative in a dimly lit room.

That is why she killed Kevin. Alli was trying to help her sister move on! They are both killers.

A man and a woman standing outdoors in a landscaped area, engaged in a conversation. The woman is smiling while holding the man's hand. Flowers and green grass are visible in the background, suggesting a peaceful setting.

One sister shoots the other, but who is the sister that survived? Ryan sure can’t tell, and neither can I! Three months later, Ryan and Alli are a happy couple. Alli takes the solo deal and is living her best life. Well, Drea is living Alli’s best life. She is the sister who survived. Ryan has a twin brother named Randy, who is also bad. Leaving this open to a sequel that will be so confusing! Yay?

STRAY Thought

Tami Roman is a star! She should have gone into acting sooner. That being said, this movie was so random and not in a fun way. I was confused most of the time.

No sequel needed.

  1. Normally I agree with you. But not this time. And one huge mistake you made in your synopsis: Drea never met Ryan; she saw him from across the room in the cafe, but didn’t get a chance to meet him. She found out his name from the waitress and took screenshots of him from his social medias and photoshopped herself into the pictures. Ali met him first at the work event. And I don’t agree we do need a sequel.
You got such a big part of the story wrong, so now I am more skeptical of your other movie reviews. SMH
