When a family seeks refuge with their “doomsday prepper” neighbors during a community lockdown, they start to suspect their hosts have dangerous intentions, until a shocking twist reveals the real threat was far closer than they ever imagined.
Recap/Wine Thoughts

Amy and Nate are driving with their teenage daughter in the backseat when they swerve to hit a deer. Nate puts it out of its misery while Rachel practices mindful breathing and affirmations in the car with her daughter. Nate had to do what he had to do. This is probably all a metaphor for the obstacles they will face from the couple across the street!!!

Tom and Rachel live across the street and bring a casserole over to their new neighbors. They are in a way from town and are pretty secluded. The couple is anti-government, anti-outsiders, and former intelligence agents obsessed with true crime. They look forward to FINALLY having some good neighbors.

At the welcome to the neighborhood BBQ, some hippy neighbors warn Amy about Tom and Rachel. They are doomsday preppers and have a bunker. She catches them deep in the woods, and they catch Amy in a bear trap. Lily tries to rescue her mother, but breathing exercises aren’t going to cut it this time.
Once free, Amy admits to her daughter about suffering from PTSD because of a stalker. As if he were Bloody Mary or Beetlejuice, Amy’s staker escapes from prison, and a manhunt is happening for him in the woods. Amy and William try to take their family to safety, but the road is closed.

Nate tries to protect his family in his boxers (and sadly NOT shirtless) but steps on some glass, leaving him ill-equipped to fight a stalker. Amy goes downstairs to confront the intruder and is surprised to see her neighbors, ready to sweep the property for safety, and they invite her to their bunker. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!!!!!

They play cards, make puzzles, have dinner, and it all seems very chill. Until they want to leave. Lily snoops around and finds an abandoned teddy bear. Did the neighbors have a kid? They mentioned a son earlier, I thought. Amy finds some dead bodies of the hippy neighbors and wants to go back down to the bunker, where it is safe.

Amy finds redacted files and begins to suspect that being in a bunker might not be cool. Lily and Amy work on creating a diversion to help Amy gather more information. Nate finds out and tells Amy she is ungrateful and too paranoid. He demands that Amy apologize to their hosts.

Amy overhears the radio in Tom’s office and hears that the stalker has been apprehended. Amy backs a bag, grabs a gun, and runs with her daughter. She pulls a gun on Nate and the neighbors. There is a struggle over the gun, and Nate grabs a rifle. Tom and Rachel tell Amy not to trust her husband. He served in Iraq and was a soldier with a history of murder.
Tom takes Lily and locks the rest of them down in the bunker. Luckily, there is a secret backdoor, and Amy chases her husband and daughter into the woods. Too bad Amy is a terrible shot, but her gun has unlimited ammo, so there is a lot of shooting.
The never-ending chase continues. Culminating in a final showdown between husband and wife. Nate shoots back but eventually tackles Amy and holds her down, asking to start over. Lily comes to the rescue, hitting her dad with a stick and sending him flying into a bear trap.

Nate doesn’t get put out of his misery, like the deer. He just got arrested. Amy thanks her neighbors for revealing the truth about Nate.

“Amy and Nate are driving with their teenage daughter in the backseat when they swerve to hit a deer.” They kind of lost me at this point. You swerved to not hit a dead deer. Who gets out of the car?! I hate seeing it, but no way am I getting out of the car to check it out. This family is strange to me already…IMO. Why is everyone so strange? This husband seems silly (and a dumb face) in his decision making, too loose and the wife is the complete opposite too strict. I would never stay with a strange gun toting couple I just met. The way they busted in their house all S.W.A.T like. No maam. Would take my chances with the escaped criminal. And these people are from NY? Great twist though, that I didn’t’ see coming.
I knew Brett Geddes playing a good character was too good to be true
