Thoughts
Police burst into a computer classroom and arrest a hunky student named Josh. Then they go to Elizabeth Berkley’s classroom and take her in for questioning too!
Flash to one month earlier, Elizabeth Berkley is in bed with her shirtless husband, Drew. He tells her that she is sexy while she grades papers. Then they have morning sex. Elizabeth Berkley heads off to school and rocks out to Lifehouse. She walks through the hallways and is confused with a student. (That is how young she looks.)
In chemistry class, Josh messes up and explodes a beaker. Elizabeth Berkley threatens to fail him for not studying and putting everyone’s life in danger. Josh’s parents are clear to remind Elizabeth Berkley that she is working for them but agrees to let her tutor Josh afterschool.
The tutoring starts inappropriately from the get-go. Josh and Elizabeth Berkley don’t study at school and go to a restaurant for burgers instead. He calls her a babe, and she lets it slide.
Josh has no problem with the ladies; he has some sexy shower time with Monica. When she calls him a jerk, he roughs her up. Later, at school, he acts as if nothing happened. He hits up another girl named Jenna to do his homework for him. She declines. The girls get into a fight, and Elizabeth Berkley intervenes. She realizes they are fighting over Josh.
Other teachers begin to talk about Elizabeth Berkley when she buys pizza for her class. They also think she is spending too much time with Josh in tutoring and around the school. Josh forces a kiss by the pool locker rooms with Elizabeth Berkley. She reports it to the principal, who doesn’t want to go through the paperwork and worries it will become he said/she said situation. She tells her to work it out herself/
Elizabeth Berkley realizes she has zero support and complains to her husband. In class, Elizabeth Berkley picks on Josh and embarrass him in front of his classmates. He tells her to screw herself under his breath earning him detention in the principal’s office. Josh tells the principal that she came onto him. Enraged, Josh breaks into Elizabeth Berkley’s house and assaults her. She goes to the hospital and is questioned by detectives.
When Elizabeth Berkley returns to her class, she is surprised to learn Josh is still in school. She is arrested for sexual abuse of a minor. Drew bails out his wife but then accuses her of “signaling” Josh unintentionally. They argue, and then Elizabeth Berkley realizes that she is pregnant.
Even in 2003, Lifetime protagonist looks stuff up online. Josh interrupts her research, and she tells him to go to the police and tell the truth. Elizabeth Berkley realizes that if she could get someone to testify on her behalf that Josh was abusive, she would have a case.
Elizabeth Berkley tries to convince Monica and Jenna to testify in court, but Josh’s parents pay them off. Elizabeth Berkley takes a plea deal, loses her job, and becomes a social pariah. Jenna feels guilty and decides to make things right after the fact. She goes to the police, and Elizabeth Berkley is back in the classroom… lord help us all.
