After Brooke and her boyfriend Lance have a car accident, Lance’s leg injury requires him to be bedridden with at-home care. When an attractive nurse, Chloe, is recommended to them, she seems perfect for the task. However, when her troubled past comes to light, it becomes apparent to the happy couple that someone is out to destroy their lives
Thoughts
Brooke works in a kitchen with a Gordon Ramsey knock off and gets promoted to Sous Chef. Her adorable boyfriend, Lance brings her cake and flowers to celebrate. They start pounding shots and then drive home. While driving and eating cake, seriously, Lance gets into a car accident hitting a pedestrian.
At the hospital, Brooke learns that they were in n accident and the man in the road wasn’t at the scene. Barb (Traci Lords) helps Brooke settle down and lets her know that Lance has a broken leg, but is otherwise okay. Detectives come to inform the couple that Lance’s blood alcohol was under the legal limit and the pedestrian actually died. Upon being released Brooke and Lance are informed that their insurance has approved a at home nurse and PT specialist to care for Lance during his recovery.
Finally at home and laid up, we meet Chloe the at home nurse. (Who arrives in scrubs and FULL make up.) She is H.O.T. and Lance immediately acknowledges it, much to Brookes annoyance. Brooke has a kitchen emergency and has to leave, thankfully Chloe is there to look after Lance for a trial run. The trial run goes great, Chloe has Lance all set up and she did the laundry. Brooke hires her on the spot and even invites her to stay for dinner. Chloe refuses because she is going home to her “boyfriend”. Brooke gives Chloe some food to go and Chloe throws it in the trash. Chloe goes home to her deadbeat cop boyfriend. They have rough sex, like she headbutts him.
While taking out the trash, Brooke notices that the food she packed up for Chloe is in the garbage can. Strike one, Bitch! (Later, when Brooke mentions the pasta to Chloe she lies and says it was amazing.)
Chloe is doing her nursing duties which include: sexy pressure points, making sure Lance stays hydrated, and then watching him while he pees… They also eat Thai food (Brooke hates it, so he is happy to eat it with Chloe.) The two talk about relationships and Lance tells Chloe that she deserves to be treated like a princess.
Back to the pedestrian who was hit for a moment. Brooke and Lance find out that the man was a former addict who had resulted to drinking heavily. His blood alcohol level was way over the legal limit and is only survived by a brother in Wisconsin. Their legal counsel tells them to just lie low and it will all just go away
Chloe is REALLY layering on the make up now, to the point where Brooke says something. She is also wearing pink scrubs now and wearing Brookes perfume (The surprisingly affordable, and aptly named, Forbidden Romance.) While making soup, the food that should never be trusted in a Lifetime movie, Chloe adds a very special ingredient… Oxycodone. While feeding Lance his soup she spills some on his shirt and has to take it off for him. Chloe get him a new shirt and then licks his body while the shirt is over his head. (It was weird.) She takes it a step further and tries to kiss Lance. He pushes her off of him and tells her to get her things and leave. She begs to keep her job and he tells her that he will sleep on it, but he is pissed and weirded out. Chloe goes home and starts googling how to overdose on hydrocodone.
Lance is reluctant to have Chloe back in the house, and he should be because she is loading him up with hydrocodone. Lance apologizes for reacting to harshly and Chloe is distant and awkward. Brooke gets off her shift early and finds Lance passed out and pale on the couch. Brooke calls 911 and take him to the hospital. Barb is back and she won’t let Chloe back to see Lance. Barb tells Brooke that he has overdosed on hydrocodone and it was most likely intentional. Lance come clean and tells Brooke about Chloe’s inappropriate behavior and she is pissed and calls the cops. The cops tell them that this isn’t the first time Chloe has had an inappropriate relationship with one of her patients and then was negligent. She also has a past history of mental breakdown and an abusive childhood. How is she a nurse tho???
Brooke confronts Chloe in the hospital and tells her that she is fired. Chloe calls Lance and leaves him a voicemail to tell him that she loves him and she would never hurt him. She then goes to their house and stares at a picture of Lance and Brooke.
While home to get a few things and shower, Brooke notices some things out of place in her home. Unbothered, she decides to take a shower. She hears a crash downstairs and goes to investigate. Brooke finds her kitchen trashed and grabs a butcher knife. She finds the photo on the ground with a syringe in it.
Barb decides that she will help take care of Lance and preps him for discharge from the hospital. Their lawyer friend lets them know that she has filed a restraining order and barred her from practicing medicine. Then we see the lawyer walking to her car talking about her “hot date with a bottle of Chardonnay and her bed.” Too bad she will never make it to that date because Chloe attacks her and puts her in a coma.
Barb make Lance cookies and things seem on the up and up, until Chloe shows up at the house. Barb is NOT having it, but Lance says it is okay and he tells Chloe to go get help. Barb slams the door in Chloe’s face. The next day Barb calls Brooke and tells her that Chloe has tried to kill herself with Lance’s medicine.
At the hospital, Barb and Chloe have a heart to heart. We learn that Barb gave Chloe placebo pills instead of her antidepressants. They were working together, on what? I’m not exactly sure! Barb killed James (Chloe’s boyfriend) and stuffed him in her trunk, then she slipped something into Chloe’s IV. and wheels her out to her car. Barb brings MORE cookies to Lance, the big dummy eats them all. As he is passing out, Barb tells him that he wouldn’t get away with it. He wouldn’t get away with killing her fiance, Darren.
Barb tells him that she wants to kill him and tells him to go to his happy place. Brooke arrives to save the day and hits Barb with some crutches. Since Barb is such a badass she just knocks that bitch out. Chloe runs in with a gun and tries to stop Barb, but Barb again stops her with a syringe to the arm. Brooks wakes up and stops Barb from killing Lance. “My hero” he laughs.
Flash to 6 weeks later, Lance proposes to Brooke with the same cake they were eating at the beginning of the movie. Brooke can’t have that because she wears the pants in this relationship, she proposes to Lance and he says yes!!!!
Side Note
Traci Lords is an infamous porn star from the 80’s and she is actually pretty good in this movie!
