Synopsis (via Lifetime)

When a weather forecaster is asked to host her network’s annual snow-cast in the wintry town of Leavenworth live with the network’s morning show host and a longtime rival of hers, tension brews and romantic sparks fly between them on air.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

Local morning show newscasters Tatum and Drake are not cutting it with the network executives who want to add someone funny and… not so white to the Annual Christmas Snowcast.

Working couple Eddie and Lisa recruit funny/Latina meteorologist Bridget Torres to bring some life to the telecast in Christmas Town, USA. Bridget agrees to go on trip with one condition, the newscasters don’t come with them. (They are condescending to her whenever they see her in the newsroom.)

Bridget tells her Tia that she is leaving for the holidays and will miss all their Puerto Rican/American holiday traditions.

When Lisa, Eddie, and Bridget arrive in town, they are surprised to learn that they are staying in Drake’s family inn. Drake’s parents, Millie and Wally, welcome them. Hot brother Dillon is also there; he is more of the strong silent type. (I swear he has no lines in the opening scene.)

Bridget was supposed to be co-hosted with Drake on his morning show, but he went with Tatum instead. Tatum clearly wants to be in a relationship with Drake, but he doesn’t seem interested in her passive aggressiveness. So, there is bad blood there.

During a production, Bridget wants to go off the cuff, while Tatum wants to stick to a script. It sums up the differences between them. Drake is caught in the middle and honestly needs to choose a side.

Drake and Bridget film a snowshoe segment and have great chemistry on camera. Tatum becomes jealous of the connection.

By the fire, Drake and Bridget talk about their families. Bridget’s mother passed away, and her father is estranged. Dillion is a mama’s boy and takes care of the family dog, Trixie. (Which is the director’s dog making a cameo.)

Drake takes Bridget on a town tour, including his family’s Christmas store. Mille gifts Bridget a snow globe to give to Aunt Marta. They film the day on a GoPro, and the footage goes viral online with 90K views.

They continue to film news segments at all times. Including during a wine and paint party, which would be on the news because… why?!

The script for the Snowcast continues to be written, and Bridget doesn’t see how she fits into the broadcast. Drake tells Bridget that she needs to have her own show.

IT is time to film the Snowcast, but the snow isn’t coming. They have fake snow ready to go, but Bridget doesn’t want to report fake news. Tatum wants to stick to the script and says she will lie if it will make the story cohesive.

Dillon finally speaks up and gossips to Tatum about Drake being in love with Bridget. Drake picked Tatum for the job because the network didn’t want him to go with Bridget because they were clearly in love. Tatum is insulted that she was 2nd choice.

Live on air, Drake, and Tatum film in front of a live audience. On a break, Tatum pops off on Drake about picking Bridget over her. Bridget overhears this and finds out she didn’t get the job because he had feelings for her. (Which is messed up.)

The ratings are in, and the telecast was a success. The next morning the production is snowed in and has to work through the drama that Tatum unleashed the night before.

Tatum apologizes to Drake because she wants him to like her; her Christmas wish is to find love.

The Christmas festival gives Millie (Audrey Landers) a chance to sing AND for Bridget and Drake to reconnect. He asks her out on a proper date. OH, AND THE NETWORK GiVES HER A SHOW! Drake and Bridget kiss, the end!
