Synopsis (via Lifetime)

When Chloe (Lyndon Smith), a delivery dispatcher at a local shipping facility, notices the odd behavior of Theo (Steve Kazee), one of the delivery drivers who is grabbing packages daily for someone not on his usual route, she discovers he is secretly stealing packages so he can meet the homeowner, social media influencer Natasha (Jenna Dewan). Driven by her own curiosity, Chloe finds herself as enamored with Natasha as Theo is. Soon, Chloe develops a full-blown obsession and takes on a new identity to befriend Natasha. But Sloan (Rachel Lindsay), Natasha’s best friend and manager, begins to grow increasingly suspicious of the newcomers in Natasha’s life and will do anything to protect her, even if it means putting herself in danger.

Recap/Wine Thoughts.

The movie begins with our protagonist, Jenna Dewan, screaming for help in a warehouse from a literal cardboard box.

Flash to three weeks earlier, Jenna Dewan is playing Natahsa, who is an influencer or something and a recent widow. Her BFF is Rachel Lindsay

Chloe also is going through a loss; her grandmother just passed away. She is starting a new job at an Amazon-type business called Presto Ship. A hunk named Theo, who also works in the warehouse, has eyes for her. He doesn’t even wait for her first day to end to ask her for a date.

Theo covers for another driver, Rita, and brings some packages to Natasha’s house. Her guard dog isn’t impressed, but Natasha is! They talk about classical piano music. He secretly starts taking the packages for Natasha on his route and playing them up as a sorting mix-up. (Later, when the nerd manager confronts him, Theo intimidates him.)

On the date, Chloe tells him that she has been the caretaker for her grandmother for the last three years and is living in her house. Theo talks about his almost NF career being sidelined by one too many concussions. Chloe Sees a dark side to Theo when a drunk bumps into their table. He grabs the man and forces him to apologize. Chloe is freaked out.

Rachel Lindsay finds Natasha crying at home and cheers her up with some champagne and the first copy of her soon-to-be-released book. Natasha has 1 million followers and is taking her career to the next level. Theo drops off the package, hoping to reconnect with Natasha. She signs the package while on the phone and slams the door in his face. (Her dog still barks at him, so Theo seals the dog while Natasha does yoga.)

Theo isn’t the only person who is obsessed with Natasha. Chloe starts looking at her social media and starts wearing her hair like Natasha. Then, she goes to a book signing and steals a copy of her book. Chloe goes home and reads the whole thing in one sitting while laughing.

It’s like Where’s Waldo! Haha, creepy!

Natasha posts about her missing dog on social media, and Chloe makes it her mission to find the dog and become friends with Natasha. Chloe steals a bunch of stuff from the warehouse to look perfect for their first face-to-face meeting.

However, Theo is one step ahead of Chleo and fakes it, like he found Natasha’s dog. He asks her on a date, but she declines and suggests some time. (Chloe witnessed the whole interaction because she heard barking on a dispatch call earlier with Theo.) Theo notices Chloe’s car, and the two obsessed people are now rivals competing for Natasha.

That dog knows what is up!

Chloe goes to Natasha’s house and attempts to warn her about Theo but hears Natasha yell while taking out the trash. Natasha assumes Chloe is the housesitter for the neighbors and asks her to bring over a wine opener and join her. They pour up the wine, and Natasha follows Chloe’s social media. Chloe excuses herself to creep around the house and practice laughing in the mirror.

Who doesn’t love a good mirror practice session?

After more glasses of wine, they bond over their recent losses and say they are “sisters in grief.” They make a date to enjoy some more wine the next day. Chloe starts to get new followers immediately. She also copies everything Natasha does, even down to her bathroom products.

They hang out even more, and Rachel Lindsay joins them this time. She grills Chloe and catches her in multiple lies. To bring sympathetic attention back to her, she burns herself getting snacks out of the oven and, when that isn’t severe enough, burns her hands with scalding hot water in the bathroom. Natasha treats Chloe’s hand while Rachel Lindsay watches on skeptically. So does Theo from the window.

Theo orchestrates a coincidental run-in at a yoga studio and asks her out on a date. This time, Natasha agrees. Chloe comes over the same night and is surprised to see Natasha all dolled up. Chloe is even more surprised when Theo is at the door.

Theo takes Natasha to a piano lounge but misses the exit and heads to a remote location. Natasha starts to get freaked out and sends a picture of Theo to Rachel Lindsay. He promises to be on his best behavior.

Knowing that Natasha is in trouble, Chloe breaks into the house with her memorized doorcode. Rachel Lindsay finds Chloe in the house, and her feelings that something is off with Chloe have been confirmed. Rachel Lindsay calls the police, but Chloe knocks her out with a statue of the Washinton Monument.

After his date with Natasha, Theo confronts Chloe and tells her that he is pretty sure she is a mental patient. They go back and forth about who is more dangerous.

Chloe goes to work the next day and is told they have footage of her stealing merchandise and sneaking into Theo’s truck. She drives around in her car and eats fast food. Then Chloe learns that Natasha has blocked her.

Natasha decides to take a social media break, and as she makes her post, Chloe sneaks in and knocks her out. She is the one who puts Jenna Dewan in a box at the warehouse. Natasha is broken out by Chloe, who claims she is there to help, but she has Theo tied up. Theo tells Natasha to run. Chloe overpowers Natasha and almost suffocates her with packing tape.

Natasha plays dead and frees herself. The police arrest Chloe. Natasha quickly moves away, but that doesn’t mean Theo isn’t tracking her down via hidden cameras EVERYWHERE!!!!

That creepy smile!

Side Note/Stray Thoughts

TWO BADY GUYS!??! Poor Jenna Dewan!

This was Rachel Lindsay‘s first acting role. It was a good fit since she is America’s BFF too.

  1. It’s actually Rachel Lindsey’s second movie. I didn’t know she was in this one or I wouldn’t have started watching it. Her head got too big after the Bachelorette and she became a race baiter as well. She cost Chris Harrison his job when she asked him about whatever Bachelorette chick was going to wind up with that Matt guy and Chris’s reasonable answer was let’s ask HER what the situation was and why and that he didn’t presume to speak for someone else. Lindsey ganged up with Strahan and cancelled Chris. Now, I would like to see both of them cancelled for being petty people with no grace.
