Synopsis (via Lifetime)

Three years after narrowly escaping the murderous clutches of her half-sister Simone (Amber Riley), Monica (Raven Goodwin) is ready for a fresh start in Seattle as the host of the city’s #1 primetime investigative television program. With her best friend Bebe (K. Michelle) by her side and a new love interest, things are looking up for Monica. Secretly nursed back to health and suffering from amnesia, Simone is building a new life when she comes across Monica on TV and her memories come rushing back, leading to a fateful reunion between the sisters. Can the two put the past behind them? Or will Simone’s need to get revenge win the day?

Recap/Wine Thoughts.

The movie picks up right where the first one left off. Monica Harris sits outside of her burning house, and we see flashbacks of what happened in the last movie. Monica thinks she is in the clear, but Simone leaves the burning building and goes into the night. The nightmare continues.

Monica and Bebe are trying to move on with their lives and start a new business enterprise in Seattle. Bebe will be Monica’s stylist on her new show, Red Alert with Monica Harris. Her co-workers are snobby since Monica came from Daytime TV. Her new boss, Kendyl calls Monica a lemon.

WELP! Simone is a nun named Grace now. She claims to have amnesia.

During Monica’s first broadcast, she interviews a detective named Trevor Williams. He specializes in stalkers, and Monica realizes her new job is exploting her because of own stalker experience. Monica later tries to set a boundary, but Kendyl tells her she isn’t there to think.

Simone/Grace sees Monica’s broadcast, and it brings back her memory. Simone wastes no time attacking a rude lady and confessing to Mother Superior. The nuns kick her out of the convent and send her on her way. (THAT’S how you solve a problem like Maria… or Simone in this case.) She heads right to Seattle and takes a tour of the TV studio.

While snooping around Monica’s dressing room, Simone overhears the makeup artist saying she is looking for a roommate. Layla shows Simone the apartment and moves her in. Simone continues to have memory flashbacks and remembers that Monica is her half-sister.

Bebe is super unprofesh at work and randomly goes on a date with Kendyl, the boss?!?! (She wants to “try” women.)

Simone starts stalking Monica again. She sees Monica on a date with Detective Trevor and busts out the binoculars while sitting in her living room, googling “Doxxing.”

At a dog park, Simone finds and kidnaps Layla’s old roommate’s dog and demands the back rent. Simone brings the money to her new roommate to win her over. They drink beer and eat hot wings to celebrate. (Which sounds good to me!) Simone has an idea to bring flowers to Monica at work so Layla can get on her good side after a wrong first impression.

The flowers don’t go over well because Layla calls Monica “Mon,” just like Simone used to do. Of course, the flowers are bugged so Simone can get the details of Monica’s social life.

Monica meets Detective Trevor for a hookup, dressed as a circus ringleader. The top hat is much, but Detective Trevor seems into it! They continue to hook up, and Monica opens up about her stalker. Detective Trevor tells her he will ensure Simone is gone to give her peace of mind.

Bebe and Monica try on wedding dresses for fun, but we don’t even get a montage here. (What is up with that!) Monica goes to the bathroom, and while she is (loudly) peeing, someone bangs on the door and peeps in. (That was creepy.) It turns out to be Bebe, but Monica is convinced it is Simone. Which, it was.

To make a deadline, Monica stays late at work to pull an all nighter. Simone overhears Monica still working and uses Laya’s security pass to sneak into the building and make a copy of Monica’s phone. Then she deletes the project Monica worked on and sends a folder titled “Vent Folder” to HR.

On her way out Simone runs into Boss Kendyl who chases her out of the building. The secret is out and Simone can’t have that

she kills Kendyl from the backseay of her car. Detectives find the body the next day and Monica is the number one suspect because of her vent letter.

With access to Monica’s phone, Simone heads over to Detective Trevor’s house with a WILD mask. She blinds fold him for some sexy time and has her way with him while he is handcuffed and by “has her way with him,” I mean she kills him while shouting, “I’m Simone, Bitch!” (Kind of slay, Simone!)

Layla finds Simone’s serial killer wall in her room and I think might be crazy too, because she doesn’t turn Simone in. She takes the evidence to Monica and Bebe so they can devise a PLAN!

They all head to the TV studio and Monica plans to go live on TV and expose Simone once and for all. Simone has other plans and convinced Layla to work with her as a double agent, before killing her and framing Monica.

Simone and Monica come face to face, finally. They get into a fist fight and the police stop Monica from almost stabbing Simone. Simone accues Monica of murdering Trevor and Layla. Monica is arrested on the spot.

Monica ends up in jail and Simone visits her as Sister Grace. Simone doesn’t act saintly at all and gloats that she has won.

Monica screams that she is going to kill Simone when she gets out.

The movie sets up a part three in the last few minutes of the movie. Simone meets her daughter, Joy.

Side Note/Stray Thoughts

The fact that they didn’t like Kimchi was almost an automatic cork it!

This movie was a retread of the previous movie and while it had some outrageous moments, it isn’t a must watch.

Hair and makeup were on point for this one, just like the previous film.

  1. I watched but didn’t enjoy this one. Bit too implausible even for Lifetime. I hope the third isn’t 2 years away, though. Hopefully they end this on a high note.
