Web model Kara Woods begins to get disturbing messages from one of her fans, causing her to seek help from a security influencer, Cody Valentine. Things are fine until the messages begin spilling over into “IRL” when Kara’s stalker begins to show up in person. Stars Sara Ball, Austin Valli, Molly Gibson, Ben VanderMey and Jean Charles (2024).
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Maxine is a cam girl for ModelFans who hates to be alone. She tosses her hair and talks to the camera about a breakup from her boyfriend, Roger. The dollars and likes come chiming in online. So do some creepy comments from someone named Blaze (Fire Emoji) tell her he is outside her apartment. Maxine rushes downstairs, but she slips and falls, cracking her phone. Maxine grabs a kitchen knife and hides in the closet, but her stalker finds her and stabs her to death.
Kara is another model who is shooting a photo shoot in a private jet with Dexter, who used to date Maxine. They learn about Maxine’s murder, and Dex isn’t THAT upset because he feels Kara up when she offers him a comforting hug. (What a creep!)
Kara is in the top five of ModelFans and has a DUI! (No judgment!) Her friend and Social Media Manager, Emily, thinks Kara should step up her game to fill the gap Maxine left. Emily reads a sappy message from Blaze (Fire Emoji) and promptly blocks him for being a weirdo.
Since Kara can’t drive her own car, she relies on rides to Auditions. She hopes to break into legitimate acting and wants to leave ModelFans behind. (She is now in the top three on the platform.) Kara runs last and ends the audition early when the auditor asks her to take her top off. Kara’s manager is pissed and tells her to be realistic. Kara fires his ass.
Blaze (Fire Emoji) watches Kara’s livestream and harasses her in the comments. She quickly blocks him, but not before mentioning the nightclub she will be attending with Emily later.
At Da Club, Kara secretly makes out with her jock boyfriend, Gabe, in the bathroom. Gabriel wants Kara to stop modeling and tells her his season is going great. The conversation turns when Kara tells him she doesn’t want to be a kept woman and wants to make her own way. He violently grabs her and tells Kara that she BELONGS to him. Kara leaves, and he tells her that if she does, that is done. Kara is OVER IT!
Kara makes a post in the bathtub and giggles at the comments coming in asking to join her. Then Blaze (Fire Emoji) chimes in with a new account!!! Rocket (Pumpkin Emoji). She calls the police, but they don’t really care.
Dex shoots Kara again and is a little too hands-on. With everything going on, Kara is too overwhelmed to continue with the shoot, and she shares the messages from Blaze (Fire Emoji.) Dex tells Kara just to ignore the messages, and things will blow over.
Kara gets an unsolicited email from Fortitech offering her six months of FREE online security. She sets up a meeting with an account rep. When she arrives at their offices, Kara is surprised to be welcomed by the CEO, Cody Johnson. He tells her that many ModelFans models have been joining since Maxine’s death. Then he shows Kara the dossier he has found of her online, down to her housekeeper’s name, Bea. He loses the account when Cody inadvertently calls Kara a pornstar.
During a Zoom meeting with a potential brand ambassador, someone hacks into Kara’s account and posts pictures. Kara is fluttered and loses the BIG account! Emily is frustrated and asks Kara to reconsider Cody’s Fortitech free offer.
Cody comes over and he tells Kara that he has taken care of the online stalker and asks if anyone else has it out for her. Kara tells Cody about Gabe, the baseball player, and Cody says that he will look into him as a possible suspect.
Since Blaze (Fire Emoji) can’t reach Kara, he goes for the next best thing, Emily. He sends her messages asking for a date with Kara, and a random man eats cereal casually in her house. Emily has been Doxxed.
SWAT shows up at Kara’s house?!?! Blaze (Fire Emoji) swatted her! Cody comes to Kara’s defense and is rude to the detectives. Cody spends the night and has a technician install security cameras.
Cody is too helpful, honestly, and he is doing all this for free. Cody asks Kara about Dex because he thinks the photographer is too handy. Then he looks into Dex’s record and has charges against him of harassment. Cody asks Kara to stay offline, but she can’t do that. Her rating is dropping! (Emily is suddenly gone, so Cody manages Kara’s social media, too.)
To bump her following, Kara does a striptease as the tips come chiming in. Cody walks in on her filming and stops the camera. He tells her that she is better than stripping on camera. She kicks him out of her studio and tells him that it is her body and her way to make money, and she will do what she wants.
Emily stops Kara when she is on a jog and asks why Kara is ghosting her. Cody must have messed with their phones and stopped messages from exchanging.
Bea, the housekeeper, stops by to clean and overhears Cody, taking in Kara’s room and looking through Kara’s bras. Bea calls Kara, but before the line can connect, Cody chloroforms her. When Kara comes home, she is concerned that Bea isn’t there and the ICE CREAM WAS LEFT OUT. Kara goes to the police, but they brush her off and slut shame her.
Cody tells Kara that she deserves better and should be more careful. Kara is done with him and tells him to stay away from her. Then she goes to Da Club, and Cody, of course, follows her in. He sees Kara and Emily taking and becomes jealous. Cody gets even more upset when he sees Gabe trying to win Kara back. Cody beats the crap out of Gabe, and Kara screams, “Somebody gets this man AWAY from me.” and fires him for the good.
Gabe takes Kara to his house for her safety, and Cody follows them. The men get into another fight, and Cody tells Gabe that Kara is HIS and that he won’t be without her.
Emily and Kara make a live video to try to bait Blaze (Fire Emoji), who we know now is Cody.
Finally, this movie is ending. Cody sneaks into the house and knocks Emily out downstairs. Kara stops the livestream and runs downstairs. Emily is downstairs and tied up. Kara decides to play along with Cody and tell him she admires how much he fights for her. Then she sneakily turns on the livestream again and gets Cody to admit to everything on camera. The stalking, the killing of Maxine, all of it. Cody realizes that they are alive and hears police sirens in the background.
Cody is caught, and the police take him to the station. Bea is alive and has been tied up in Cody’s basement. The detective apologizes for not taking Kara seriously.
Emily tells Kara that she has a callback for an acting job, and she is number one on ModelFans. Kara is ready to leave that behind and focus on acting.
