Lisa tries to mend her marriage with Mark after her old boyfriend, Jake, starts working with her. While Lisa’s boss Sabrina warns her not to get too close, Jake becomes obsessed with Lisa and is more dangerous and unstable than she ever realized. Vivica A Fox, Gina Hiraizumi, Matthew Pohlkamp, Ciarra Carter, and Daniel Joo star (2025).
Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie begins with Matthew Pohlkamp, here playing Jake, sneaking into a house while wearing all black. He places some nanny cams in plants.
Cut to one week earlier. Jake is in marriage counseling with his wife, Paula. Their therapist, the iconic Diane Robin, goes over some breathing techniques with them. It doesn’t seem helpful, but it’s Diane Robin, so WHO CARES!

Gina Hiraizumi, still with the best hair on Lifetime, plays Lisa. Lisa works with Ms. Vivica A Fox, who has a sparkly new phone case. Lisa is having trouble with her husband with her husband Mark. He is putting in a lot of time at work because he, of course, wants to make a partner. Lisa is worried about he dad back in Maine because her mother died 4 months ago.

Ms. Vivica A. Fox tells Lisa that a marketing position has opened up, and Lisa will be the interim marketing director. (She really wants the job.) Jake starts in a new role at the company, and Lisa is tasked with helping him onboard. Lisa and Jake actually know one another and had briefly dated in college. (Co-worker Jo makes fun of Lisa for her past with the new hunk on staff.)

Jake and Lisa catch up and try to keep things professional. Jake tells Lisa that she is the best woman he has ever dated. They laugh about college life and seem to be getting along without any red flags. (Whoops, I spoke too soon; Jake takes Lisa’s car keys from her purse.) Lisa leaves for a date with Mark and doesn’t seem to miss the keys.

Back to Jake sneaking into the house, what we didn’t know before is that Lisa and Mark are chilling by the pool as he breaks into the house and hides cameras everywhere!!! (Haha, that is bold!) Then he text flirts with Lisa about hating reality TV while he watches her on camera.

Lisa shares with Jake her desire to take over the marketing position. He helps Lisa with her pitch and gets Lisa to open up about her mother’s death. Lisa shares that Mark hasn’t been there for her and has been holding her back from visiting because he is so busy and she needs him. They come up with the pitch, and Lisa talks to Miss Vivica A Fox.

Lisa tries to change the subject and set up her co-worker Jo with Jake. He isn’t interested and is jealous of a flirty co-worker named Stevey. Jake confronts Stevey and tells him to stop sexually harassing Lisa, OR ELSE!
The pitch goes well, and Ms. Vivica A. Fox gives Lisa the job! She is so impressed and happy to hear that Jake helped. Then Ms. Vivica A Fox says, “A True friend is a true friend indeed.” Everyone in the office celebrates and Mark walks in on Lisa and Jake hugging. He gets unresonaby jealous and storms off. Lisa chases after him and invites him to drinks with Jake.

The three-way date has moody lighting and moodier banter, with Jake jokes about “NOT being a stalker.” Mark asks 20 questions about their past relationship, which makes him even more jealous and insulted when Jake tells Mark to take Lisa to visit her dad and stop being so dedicated to his work.

Mark doesn’t trust Jake and tells Lisa his concerns while shirtless, so I was distracted. Do you know who isn’t distracted? Jake. He watched the whole thing on his nanny cam pen. Paula (Jake’s ex) comes to get her stuff and catches Jake watching Lisa and Mark in bed. Jake kills her with a golf club. (RIP!)
Jake invites Lisa to work with him on a SATURDAY! He makes a move on Lisa, and she shuts it down. Lisa tells him to stay ways from him. He gets upset and does some deep breathing.
Lisa told Mark what had happened, and they decided to plan a getaway. Then they get really drunk and dance in their living room. Jake watches from a window and throws a rock through the window.

Meredith Thomas shows up and is a cutie detective with a fun ponytail! She is the BEST!
Jake apologizes to Lisa for overstepping. The conversation devolves into a shouting match, and Ms.Vivica steps in. She fires Jake on the spot and says she won’t accept harassment in the workplace. Lisa and Ms. Vivica have a nice talk about being harassed at work and earning their place without needing a man!

Jo doesn’t get the memo and goes out to coffee with Jake. She stupidly invites Jake to a company happy hour and tries convincing Lisa that Jake is a good guy. Jake and Mark fight at the bar, and things get physical. Jake overplays his injuries, like a soccer player with a yellow card. (Did I make a sports reference that makes sense?)
Lisa learned that Jake had told her father that Mark had been keeping Lisa from her grieving father. Lisa thinks Jake has gone totally insane, and when he tells her that he loves her, she screams at him to “GO AWAY!!!!
Lisa meets with Paula’s friend, Mandy, to learn how dangerous Jake is. Mandy dishes and says that Jake is obsessed with Lisa and throws Paula to the side once he finds out where Lisa works and gets a job there. Mandy gave Lisa the number of the therapist.
Jake just won’t go away. He shows up at Lisa’s house to confront Mark, wanting to settle things once and for all. Mark ends up punching Jake in the stomach, and Jake presses charges. Mark gets put in police custody.
Sadly, Lisa and Diane Robin don’t share a scene, but a phone call where the therapist confirms that Jake is OBSESSED!!!!!!!

Jake apologizes and sets up a meeting with Lisa to end things, and he promises to stop harassing her. They plan a meeting in the office.
At the office, Jake shows up with a taser. He admits to getting rid of Paula and loving her. Lisa goes along with it and seduces Jake. Then, she grabs the taser and zaps his ass!

Ms. Vivica A Fox shows up and tells Lisa that she is not allowed to work weekends and that she “GOT INVOLVED IN THE WRONG OBSESSION!”
The movie ends with Jake still watching Mark and Lisa on his nanny cams that Meredith Thomas apparently didn’t find! The End
Stray Thoughts
This is a very typical “Wrong” movie. The difference is that Jake chose the wrong woman to mess with.
Did this movie not deserve to have Mariah Carey “Obsessed”
These movies have a lot of phone calls.
