Synopsis (via Lifetime)

A famous married couple’s life is turned upside down when a mysterious pregnant woman shows up claiming to be carrying the husband’s child. Moni Ogunsuyi, Samantha Brown, and Eddie G. star.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

A shirtless man is tied to the bed and blindfolded. The man notices his restraints are a little too tight and begs for his life. A blonde woman stands over him with a knife. The movie cuts to a party where he is drugged and kidnapped.

Cut to Mecca, who is filming for her reality show. Mecca is a football wife and wants to start a family. The show’s producer, Aaron, wants more drama and is very manipulative. Mecca’s husband, Damien, thinks the questions are too intrusive and asks their manager, Trish, to stop the interview. Trish laughs him off. It’s reality TV!

Mecca vents to her co-star about not being able to have a child and doesn’t want America to know about her infertility struggles on the show. Later, Mecca gets a call from an unknown number, and a baby calls on the other end. (It is weird.) Mecca brushes it off.

Trish comes over with news that Mecca can’t brush off. Damien is being sued for child support. He had a baby with another woman? Damien tells Mecca that he hasn’t been unfaithful and demands a DNA test. Mecca is cool, calm, and collected, and schedules a meeting with the woman, Angela. Angela is hella pregnant and has no issue with the DNA test.

Mecca is less put together at brunch, and she vents to her co-star/friend Sammy. Angela isn’t lying, and the paternity test comes back. Damien is the father. Angela wants to co-parent and BE FRIENDS?!?! (That is not happening.) Mecca breaks up with Damien and leaves her wedding rings on the counter. Then, she goes to a bar to drown her sorrows.

Trish sets Mecca straight and explains the different scenarios in the scandal that could break out in the press. It is an excellent insight into how Trish’s PR brain works. Mecca decides the best course of action would be to stand by her man. Mecca and Damien cooly reconcile. Damien tells Mecca about that time he blacked out at a party and woke up naked and tied to a bed. (Like, it happens all the time.)

Angela shows up at Mecca’s house with an ugly ass framed sonogram. Mecca kicks Angela out after making a “Black don’t crack” joke. They are not going to be BFFs. Mecca later tells Damien about the unplanned visit. Damien explains that he has responsibilities to the child, even if he isn’t quite sure how it happened. Angela watches the whole conversation go down because she has installed a hidden camera in the picture frame.

Aaron sets up a meeting with Mecca and tells her that she is off the show if she doesn’t bring the drama. Mecca decides to tell Aaron about the baby mama drama for him to use on the show.

Late at night, Trish makes a cup of tea while negotiating with Angela’s lawyers. Angela wants primary custody AND for Damien to pay for her lavish new lifestyle. Trish hears a noise and grabs a spatula to defend herself, but when she finds no one in her home, she returns to work. While looking at Angela’s background check and sipping her tea, someone still lurks around the house. Trish starts coughing and dies from the poison.

At a party for the show, Angela and Damien talk, and he promises to take care of her and the baby. Damien wants to know how they met, and Angela explains they met at a party and returned to his hotel. Angela says she isn’t feeling well and asks Damien for a ride home.

Mecca and Damien randomly hook up, but Angela interrupts with emergency contracts. Suddenly, Angela moves in with Damien and Angela for the “baby.” Cue a montage of Angela making herself at home and Mecca feeling brushed to the side. Mecca tells Angela that Damien and her didn’t sign a prenup, so Angela needs to chill. Angela tells Mecca that she provided Damien with the one thing Mecca can’t, a baby.

To make Mecca feel special, Damien books her a trip to Cabo, leaving pregnant Angela alone in the house. The only problem is Mecca can’t find her passport. Mecca goes to Trish’s house and finds her dead body. Mecca also finds the camera in the baby photo frame and starts investigating Angela’s background. Let’s just say Angela has a shady past.

Damien gets his memory just as the story breaks about his infidelity. One of the players dated Angela and warned Damien that she was unhinged. Before the player can warn Mecca, someone knocks him unconscious.

Angela goes out bad guy, pulls a gun on Mecca, and shoots her. Mecca makes a run for it and finds Aaron at the door. Mecca screams for help, but he is in on it. Aaron is working with Angela. Angela admits to inseminating herself and her plan to take Mecca’s spot on the reality show.

Mecca fights back and stabs Aaron in the next with a shard of glass. She gets the gun and holds Angela at gunpoint, but Angela’s water breaks, and she goes into labor as the police arrive. Damien and Mecca work things out.

The couple stay together and raise the baby. Angela goes to prison and writes her baby birthday cards from jail. The end!
