Widow Elena, her daughter, Sadie, and dad, Jim, move into a new house for a fresh start. But when Sadie’s classmates tell her that her new house is haunted, she learns that the ghost of Silas Crane—patriarch of the infamous Crane family—haunts the house. As Sadie hears odd noises, she becomes convinced that Silas is trying to force her family to move out. Determined to uncover what’s really happening, Elena and Sadie search the house and find a descendant of Silas Crane living in the walls. Now, Elena and Sadie must rid their home of Nathaniel if they ever hope to live in peace.
Recap/Wine Thoughts

A Victorian house goes up for sale and has secrets in the foundation. Widow Elana moves her family into the creaky old house. Saide, Elana’s teenage daughter, helps her mother unpack and hears sounds around. Elana’s dad, Jim, doesn’t hear anything because his hearing aid is out of batteries.

When Sadie tells people where she lives at school, the other students are like, BRO, YOU LIVE IN A HAUNTED HOUSE! Elana quickly gets the nickname Ghost Girl and befriends a gay podcaster with a show about spooky things in town. (Is he me?!?!?) Elana tells him about the spooky whispering she hears in the walls.
Elana gets a gift basket from the realtor, but when she invites him inside, the realtor gets spooked and high-tails it out of there. Elana thinks she sees her father in the attic, but he is gardening. He tells her that the attic is full of old stuff from previous owners, and Elana goes to check it out.
The attic has an old picture of the man who built the home and the town. The house was passed down from generation to generation until the latest generation couldn’t make payments, and the house was foreclosed on. There are rumors that there is money hidden in tunnels built for Prohibition.

Sadie continues to hear voices in the walls and uses her grandpa and his superpower hearing aids to confirm she is right. He brushes it off as some signal interference, but Sadie is convinced the place is haunted.
They don’t know about the guy in the bushes! He lurks around, listening to the conversation and browsing the yard sale Elana puts on. When the girls go out for dinner. The creepy guy and his less creepy friend break into the house in search of the tunnels and, more importantly, THE MONEY! The younger guy hears a voice and follows it to the attic. He gets pushed out the window by a ghost!!!

Sadie gets bullied at school, and it is pretty silly. More menacing messages are written in lipstick on the mirrors. Sadie ghost-proofs the house by putting salt on the doors. Elena takes a different route and installs nanny cams.

After a neighbor dies from seeing the ghost and having a heart attack, Elana isn’t playing. She goes to yell at the realtor and gets the names of the previous owners to compare notes. The couple warns Elena and Sadie to get out because things will get much worse. They are right. The dad, Jim, is electrocuted when going to check the fuse box, and he dies.
Elana goes to the jail to talk with the Sheriff, who shows him a video of the ghost. The Sheriff identifies him as Nathanal Craine, the evicted owner. Elana rushes home to warn her daughter.

Sadie and Dylan look for ghosts, and when Dylan goes missing, Sadie puts on her grandpa’s hearing aid and crawls into the fireplace. She finds the secret tunnels. It leads to an old walled-off birthing room, and Dylan passes out there. They rush to try to escape, but old Nathanael Craine chases them.

Nathanael Craine catches up to them, but he doesn’t want to leave because it is his house. Elana tries to reason with him, but he freaks out. Sadie puts the hearing aids on him, and the sound causes him to stumble and fall down the stairs. The Sheriff pulls up and arrests the old man. Elana feels bad for him.

Surprisingly, they stay in the house, and Sadie becomes the world’s oldest teen cheerleader. The End
STRAY Thoughts
This was very silly; it felt like an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Did they get the name inspo from the 10th diary of a wimpy kid book? Cause there was a character named Silas who happened to be an urban legend. (I know, I still read those books at my old age, can never outgrow them)
Stupid title and an overdone unoriginal plot that has been rehashed so many times. Definitely put a cork in this!
That’s a young looking grandpa! I thought he was the husband!
I did too, hahah!
Sadie looks in her 30’s. Definitely NOT in high school. Not even as a senior who’s been held back a decade.
I’m waiting for my time to be cast as a Lifetime teen, when I’m 50
