When ambitious food correspondent, Carly Hayes (Agostino), gets a shot at her own TV show, nothing goes as planned. She’s sent to Angel Heights to help Grant Quinn (Casey), a perfectionist, attention-shy chef, reopen his family’s beloved diner and film it as a holiday special pilot for her television show. Thanks to Carly, Grant will not only re-open his restaurant, but most probably his heart too.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Carly Haze is a renowned food journalist. She gets her own show. She produces a show about small-town Christmas recipes and will work with the chef in hiding, Grant Quinn.
Grant and Carly don’t get along and have different visions of whatever menu they are planning. Carly shoots down his ideas and wants more Christmas-themed items. (He thinks her taste is too much and likes simple and modern.) Grant also doesn’t do on-camera interviews because he wants to focus on the food.
Camera woman Ramona films the two setting up and arguing because they can’t have enough footage. Carly warms up to Grant when she meets his daughter, Tess.
Beth. Grant’s restaurant manager is surprised that Grant and Carly are spending so much time together. They have a snowball fight, decorate for Christmas, and talk about “taste memories.” Grant shares why he doesn’t want to appear on camera. He doesn’t want to overshadow the food or have his personal life put on display. Carly asks him to trust her and promises not to edit him poorly.
Carly secretly films Grant in the kitchen under pressure from her boss to get more footage. The cut that Carly submit isn’t cutting enough so the network cuts a more edgy one. Grant sees the wrong cut and thinks Carly lied to him.
Carly quits her job and tries to sell her original cut to another network.
Grant sees the recut and is in love with Carly now. The end!
