Synopsis (via Lifetime)
With Christmas fast approaching, Leslie (Vivica A. Fox), known for her expertise in all things domestic and top lifestyle brands, is looking to expand her business. She sets her sights on the bakery, Sugar Bakers, owned by Denise Sugarbaker (Jackée Harry) and run by her son, David (Landon Moss). Determined to make a deal before the end of the year, Leslie sends one of her top employees, Emma (Jasmine Aivaliotis), to go undercover as a seasonal employee in order to convince them to sell. Emma unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with the quaint bakery with its Christmas spirit, staff and especially, David. ‘Tis the Season to make or bake Christmas and discover everything sweet during the holidays, including love.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Ms. Vivica A. Fox does a Christmas commercial for Leslie Bake cookies. She isn’t just a Diva; she is a Diva with a BRAND IDENTITY. Ms. Vivica A. Fox yells at her assistant, Emma, and almost fires her until Ms. Vivica A. Fox comes up with a plan to make Emma worthwhile. She wants Emma to get a popular bakery to sell their brand. Emma will go in undercover!!!!!
Emma researches online and watches a guy named Butterfingers on YouTube before heading to the bakery. She prints a fake resume. When she arrives, she sees a handsome hunk named Dave dancing in his car. She feels annoyed.
Jackée Harry owns the bakery and is a Diva herself. (She is looking good!) She interviews Emma, hires her on the spot, and introduces her son, Dave, to Emma. Dave needs to get her up to speed. He will teach her how to be a part of the Suger Baker family. Three long-time employees (Sally, Maggie, and Patti) do everything by hand. There is also a really tall, hot gentleman named Clark. (I think he is only in that opening scene.)
Emma has some moral quandaries about stealing recipes and ideas around the bakery. She gets closer and closer while singing Christmas Karaoke to Dave. Jackée Harry wants them to be a couple. She hopes they will give her grandkids. They almost kiss, and Emma doesn’t want to keep lying to Dave.
Ms. Vivica A. Fox is thrilled Emma has gotten close to Dave because that will be a way to get the recipes. Emma agrees to steal the cookie recipes to prevent Ms. Vivica A. Fox from acquiring the business and firing he staff who Emma has grown close to.
There is a folder marked recipes, and Emma takes photos of them. It is just that easy.
Emma comes clean to Dave, and he is understandably upset. To show him she is devoted to him and the family business, Emma quits Ms. Vivica A. Fox job. Jackée Harry is thrilled. She names a cookie after Emma. She invites her to the holiday party to make up with Dave.
Emma and Dave have an emotional talk while he wears a Hawaiian shirt and a data har. Emma explained that she had talked to her mom and realized she had fallen in love with baking and Dave! She hopes Dave will give her a second chance. After all, the best ingredient is FAMILY!
They sing Karokee terribly. “Anything can happen at Christmas”
Emma says the title of the movie at the end of the movie. However, this movie just keeps going.
Ms. Vivica A. Fox shows up at the bakery and congratulates Emma on her success. She apologizes for acting cray cray. Merry Christmas DAWLINS!!!!
