Monica (Ory) and Michael (Ayres) are Christmas Angels tasked with bringing destined soulmates together during the most magical season of all. Typically, Angels work alone, but when the Christmas Connection Department faces the threat of downsizing, Monica and Michael are unexpectedly paired to ensure Daisy and Patrick fall in love before Christmas. The partnership isn’t without its challenges: Monica is a by-the-book traditionalist who follows every heavenly rule, while Michael embraces spontaneity and delights in earthly joys like hot chocolate, snowball fights, and holiday dancing. Their clashing styles – and the undeniable spark growing between them – complicate their mission. As Christmas Eve draws near, Monica and Michael worry that their differences will keep them from completing their mission in time. But just when it seems all hope is lost, a surprising turn of events changes everything – leading to a Christmas connection no one saw coming. Starring Meghan Ory and Benjamin Ayres.
Recap/Wine Thoughts

The love starts with some old-timey people on a bridge. The Christmas Connection Angels have been making Soul Matches for years! Monica has been orchestrating love matches with a feather plum. She hates modern times because cell phones ruin EVERYTHING!

In Heaven, where everything is white, Monica runs into Michael, who ruins her special matchmaking quill. The angels all vent over how hard it is to guide souls to love, with phones getting in the way. Michael doesn’t play by the rules and recently got his wings. He just wings matchmaking! (Which outrages Monica.)

When Michael (who could use a touch of Botox) wins Best Angle of the year, it is just too much. He credits fun as his secret to matching so many couples, even if they don’t stay together. Megan and Michael are assigned the same couple and fight over who will get to make the match. Then there is a MERGER. The Christmas angles are merging with the Valentine’s Day angles, because just like Hallmark… Heaven is a corporate juggernaut?

Back on Earth, the unlikely pair of angels tries to match Patrick and Daisey. They argue over Earth Hot Chocolate, which Michael chews for some reason and gets on his nose. (That goes against the Hark rules!) Then they try to use puppies to match the couple. Monica wants to do things her way or no way, but Patrick is terrified of puppies and deathly allergic. He spends his time in seniors’ homes playing chess and doing the foxtrot.

Meanwhile, writer Daisy is shopping at the mall with her gay best friend Marcus, and Michael tries HIS way at matching the couple, which involves dancing or a flash mob or something. The angles try all the RomCom ways to make soul matches, but they keep having near misses with Patrick and Daisey.

THEN THIS HAPPENS! Cloud Yoga?
Monica shows Michael her life matches, which are like ghosts of people whom she has matched throughout the years. It is so important that they match Patrick because she has matched his whole family.
At a bar, Patrick and the chess senior go for a drink. She encourages Patrick to date her friend’s granddaughter, who happens to be Daisy. They are forced to sing Christmas carols because nothing says romance like forced singing and dancing in a hoe-down. What is happening? Seriously.
The match goes so badly that it ends up on Celestial Stream. (Angel social media?) Monica is put on probation, and she cries human tears while playing chess because she finds out Michael told Gabriel that the match didn’t happen because of Monica. Is he trying to get ahead, or does he have an alternative motive?

They are eventually promoted to falling in love themselves. MERRY CHRISTMAS!?!?!
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
Is bureaucratic BS in heaven blasphemous? Asking for a friend.
I guess angels kiss with their eyes open and not passion, good to know!
I can tell Meghan Ory had a lot of fun writing this.
