When Jordan, gets a new boss Tara, the job becomes more than she bargained for and receives help in the form of a Life Coach named Liz. Unfortunately, this Life Coach has plans of her own. Starring Vivica A. Fox, Morgan Bradley, Allison McAtee, Michael Pare, Tracy Nelson, and Eric Roberts (2024)
Recap/Wine Thoughts.
The movie begins with a sneaky-looking brunette lurking in someone’s house; just as she discovers something juicy, the brunette is hit in the head with a baseball bat. (I hate when that happens!)
Cut to horse lover Jordan, who will be spending less time in the stables because of her new boss. That isn’t the only change; her hunk boyfriend proposes, and she turns him down. He takes it well because they are co-workers, and she is stressed. Jordan’s mother has also been living with her since her father died.
Ms. Vivica A. Fox is Jordan’s boss, and she tells Jordan to shape up or she will fire her. You don’t cross Ms. Vivica A. Fox, even if she is the new boss.
During a coffee break, Jordan talks to a woman in line who tells her what to order. The woman, Liz, gets pissed when the barista undermines her advice. Liz is kind of a mess and seems desperate to talk to Liz about her job as a life coach. (She also has a life coach herself, AKA a therapist.) They went to the same high school and were both cheerleaders, but Jordan doesn’t remember her or seem too interested in Life Coaching.
Natalie, a co-worker, agrees that Ms. Vivica A. Fox is a lot and invites Jordan out for post-work drinks! Jordan ditches her to meet with Liz for a consultation. (Jordan’s mom disapproves of Life Coaching and thinks it is junk.) Jordan buys into Liz’s pitch about manifestation. She even sends back a meal because it has onions and asks for it to be taken off the bill. The waiter freaks out of Jordan and is fired on the spot. Liz leaves, but not before tasering the waiter in the kitchen.
Liz then pumps herself up in the mirror and tells herself that she is back in town for a reason: to fulfill her destiny. Then she does a little chant that goes like this:
“Don’t wait! Don’t hesitate! The battles just begun! Intimidate! Dominate! Liz Kimbles is number one.”
It’s my new mantra.
Liz makes a house call and interrupts brunch with Jordan, Natalie, and her mother. Jordan asks Natalie to reschedule so she can do a Life Coaching session instead. Jordan tells Liz about her work troubles and Peter pressuring her to get married. Liz tells Jordan to step up her sex game with Peter. They take some tasteful nudes together.
Rhonda calls Liz and tells her she is not a life coach and must take down her fake website. Liz fires Rhonda and refuses to tell her where she is or who she is coaching.
Peter likes the new Jordan and her new sexual side. They do it in the car in the parking lot. Jordan is also more confident at work and tells Ms. Vivica A. Fox her goals for success. Ms. Vivica A. Fox is impressed.
On the other hand, Natalie and Jordan’s mom are NOT impressed. They are especially disturbed when Liz tells Jordan to bet on herself and quit her job, AND SHE DOES IT ON THE SPOT!!! Natalie confronts Liz and tells her that she is a fraud.
Liz gets revenge on Natalie later by hitting her in the head with the bat. Natalie was the brunette at the beginning of the movie.
Jordan enjoys some reality TV with Peter, unaware Liz is watching them on Nanny Cam. Liz takes some sexy photos from the neck down and sends them to Peter, causing Jordan to think he is cheating on her. Jordan kicks Peter out, even after he denies everything.
With the best friend and boyfriend out of the picture, Liz is close to isolating Jordan from all her loved ones. Liz convinces Jordan that her mother will move out ASAP. The relationship is too codependent. Jordan’s mother convinces her daughter that she has been her life coach her whole life and Liz is overstepping.
Jordan confronts Liz and fires her ass. Liz gets physical with Jordan in the parking lot and calls her a loser. Jordan slaps her across the face and drives away. Jordan heads to the police station to report Natalie going MIA. The detective questions Liz, and she tells him that Natalie and Jordan had a falling out.
Eric Roberts interviews Jordan for a new job, and it seems like she nails it. Too bad Liz sends him Jordan’s nude photos and ruins her chances.
Next, Liz seduces Peter at a bar and has her friend record the whole thing. Then, she sends the video to Jordan in an attempt to tank the relationship. Jordan doesn’t fall for it this time.
Jordan talks to an old classmate named Patty. Patty tells Jordan that Liz hated her in high school because she took her spot on the cheerleading squad.
Then, Jordan talks to Ronda on the phone and learns that Liz is mentally unwell and dangerous. Liz overhears the conversation outside of Ronda’s office and stabs her with a pair of scissors.
Then Liz puts on a cheerleader uniform and meets with Jordan for “closure.” (With a bat!) Liz knocks Peter out before coming clean with Jordan about everything. Jordan tells Liz that she needs to leave the past in the past. Liz wants to kill Jordan to get unstuck in life.
The police show up and drag Liz away while she chants her mantra. Natalie isn’t dead, surprisingly!
Ms. Vivica A Fox takes a meeting with Jordan and is cordial. She tells Jordan that she “chose THE WRONG LIFE COACH!” and all is right in the world.
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
Having this movie at the beginning of the year was fun, so I can use that cheer/chant in the mirror when I wake up.
Jackée Harry was listed on IMDB, but I didn’t see her in this movie!

How old is this girl supposed to be? Maybe I am a old fogie, but 15min in and she does need a life coach because she seems kind of ..dim. How in the world did she get that far in life and ale to own a house. And giving away phone passwords, allowing a stranger to take sexy pics on their phone, not even hers, etc. *sigh*
Love the wrong movies!!!
