Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie aptly starts at a brewery. Friends Evan and Freddy care more about a down-home feel. They are less concerned with catering to a high-end clientele.

This man’s hair was it’s own character

Seven days until Christmas, Tori hopes her boss, Jake, will ask her out and invite her to the Bev Co. Christmas dinner. Instead, he invites her to breakfast late with greasy hair. He wants Tori to acquire The Real McCoy Brewing Company upstate. The offer could be better, and Tori knows she is working for an evil corporation.

These beer mugs are HUGE

Tori is not feeling holly or jolly and finds the brewing company decked out for Christmas. Freddy and his Golden Retriever, Gordo, welcome her. He pours Tori a glass of a new beer he named after himself; it is terrible. Luckily, Freddy isn’t the owner. Evan is, and he isn’t interested in selling. Jake tells Tori to double the offer and promise him whatever he wants.

The brewery closes for a few days before the holidays, so Tori rents a room at the local inn. (The decorations are chaotic and strewn all about.) The owner of the inn introduces herself and wants to match Tori up with her son, Evan!! They agree to go out for a burger and have some excellent flirty chemistry. (I’m into this couple.)

Tori sleeps in and wakes up to an extravagant breakfast and a couple from Staten Island with ACCENTS! Erica and Anthony like Tori until they learn that she works for BevCo. (LOL!)

He was absolutely not singing here live

The brewery hosts a fundraiser for the animal shelter where Evan got his dog Gordo. He raises enough money for Evan to “sing” for the crowd with A LOT of reverb. (I’d really be shocked if this man is singing. I was truly shocked.) Tori is into and in a slinky green dress. After the event ends, Evan shares about an ex who passed away suddenly.

Tori wakes up with a massive hangover, and Jake comes up to close the deal. His hair is even messier, and the dog attacks him upon arrival. Then they go to the burger place, and Jake goes for the hard sell. It seems like Evan is considering the offer. He even apologizes to Tori for how hard he turned her down earlier.

Evan and Freddy have to prepare the brewery for a big-time reviewer, but the brewery loses power. They have an hour to get ready, and Tori notices that Evan is frazzled. The reviewer is demanding and no-nonsense. They serve him flat beer, and it is THE END OF THE WORLD!!!! (Well, Evan does lose control of the Brewery and Jake gets it for a lower price.)

Tori is back in the city and SAD. She goes to fancy dinners with Jake and pushes her ideas aside for him. Jake gives Tori a diamond necklace and tells her she is his criminal partner. His crime? He called the power company and had them shut down the brewery in a planned sabotage. It’s just business! Tori leaves abruptly and quits her job.

Jake shows up to sign the deal paperwork the day before Christmas. Tori is also there. The reviewer wants another chance to taste their beer. They might give them a better rating. This would make the deal null and void. The reviewer isn’t into the beer, but Evan offers up Freddy’s Christmas Ale. (Which is insane!!!! No one has tried it.) The reviewer is impressed and the brewery is saved!

They kiss, it’s hot, the end!

Side Note/Stray Thoughts

This movie was overly red-toned.

A parody of itself, but not terrible!
