Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie begins with a woman in legging and digging a grave.
Laura and Pete visit their married friends Joran and Antonia in the suburbs. The dinner causes a fight over a wedding date between the city couple, and Pete is maybe the SLOWEST TALKER EVER. They set a date for the wedding, and Laura jumps on Pete like hometown dates on The Bachelor.
On Veiled Magazine’s website, Laura finds an online contest for a free wedding and applies. She wins the wedding of her dreams!!! It is too good to be true; Laura never wins anything.
The wedding whisper, Faith takes a meeting with the couple. She and Pete have a secret past. They had a fling while Peter and Laura were on a break. Faith tells Pete that she isn’t going to ruin her career over a hookup and promises to keep things professional.
Faith sets up one on one meeting with Pete and Laura. For Laura, she prescribes diet pills and inspects her home. For Pete, she rehashes details of their sexual relations in detail and sends him naughty pics. Needless to say, things are awkward between all three of them.
Faith puts something on Laura’s plate at a wedding cake tasting to make her violently sick. She uses the opportunity to get Laura home sick, so she can finish the menu tasing with Pete alone. Faith admits her feelings for Pete and asks him to give her a shot.
Pete’s mother’s wedding is shady as hell, but she joins Laura and Antonia for the dress fitting. Laura is pressured into picking a dress that doesn’t feel right and into losing five pounds. Faith promises to help her lose weight.
This movie is like a wedding checklist. Now it is time for bachelor and bachelorette parties. Faith joins Laura and Antonia for their cabin retreat and drinks the diet pills. Laura takes one with a glass of champagne and feels disoriented on a jog with Faith. (Which isn’t surprising!) The girls go out for lots of shots and beers?? They play truth or dare because they are twelve. Faith dares Laura to kiss a cowboy named Steve, and she takes pictures of them. (The following day, Faith implies that Steve and Laura slept together.) Laura and Antonia get into a fight that Faith instigates by calling Antonia jealous.
While Faith is away, Pete breaks into her office and finds photoshopped pictures. Faith was trying to convince Pete that she was raising his baby to get him to leave Laura. Sarah, Faith’s assistant, almost catches him, but he manages to escape.
When Laura comes home, Pete comes clean about his romantic weekend with Faith. Laura loses it and storms out of the house. She drives distractedly during a torrential rain storm and wrecks her car.
All of Faith’s meddling doesn’t stop the wedding. Laura and Pete have a low-key wedding. They celebrate with a champagne toast that Pete chugs. He goes down hard because the bottle is drugged by Faith.
Faith shows up with a gun and starts her villain monologue. Then Faith forces Laura to write a letter stating that she is leaving her new husband for the cowboy from the bar. When Laura refuses, Faith whips her with a pistol, which is no match for a candle that Laure grabs and takes out Faith. Laura calls 911.
Pete and Laura turn out to be the ones that were digging the grave for their wedding clothes. They are burying the past to start fresh, which seems a little dramatic.
Side Note
Minority Report: Faith, Jordan, Antonia, Sarah,
The leading actor, Pete, was so monotone. It was hilarious.

*** I’ve updated the rating system moving forward. Knives represent # of kills. Wine is over enjoyment (NOT a value judgment) on a 1-5 scale.
I will use the following tags for those who want to know whether to watch or skip: Pour it Up (Would Recommend) or Put A Cork In It (Would Not Recommend).

So the only person who gets killed is… the villain?
