Synopsis (via Hallmark)

High school classmates, who once dubbed themselves the ‘cursed class,’ reconnect at Christmas for their 15-year reunion. Over the course of their time reconnecting, the classmates challenge each other to remember who they were, who they are, and who they want to be.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

2007- We meet Elle, who is hosting the last winter formal of her High School Career and is early admitted into Stanford. Her dorky best friend, Sam, is by her side when the handsome hunk, Cam, makes small talk.

Devin Ryan is the class president, and he is such a stoner. He joins Elle on stage to announce The Winter Royals. Elle wins the queen roll and is surprised when it starts snowing inside. Davin hooked up a snow machine, but he did it wrong, and the machine short circuits. Water spills all over Elle; it is a totally Carrie moment. 2007 is known as the cursed class.

Present day, Elle is a successful tech wizard or other at a company called Zag. She is planning the 15-year class reunion. The turnout is 61%, a figure that she came up with because she is so data-driven. Her parents are extremely proud of all her success. She goes home to Harford, Connecticut.

We meet adult Devin, who works in a warehouse and has a daughter. Sam is also grown up and now a beautiful actress and newscaster? There is also Jay and Katie, a high school sweetheart who has lost the spark.

Elle meets at the town hotel to check out the venue and is surprised that Devin runs the hotel. She tells him he wasn’t that organized in High School, and she worries about their capability to work together. When she meets his daughter, she thinks maybe she was too quick to judge.

Sam and her gay stylist, James, walk around town and runs into a hunk and formal Winter King, Bryce. Sam doesn’t realize that Bryce is vibing with James.

Devin’s daughter wants to go to a coding camp and use Elle as a reference. Elle is impressed with the young talent and is also with Devin’s parenting/Reunion planning skillz. He has come a long way since High School.

Cam asks Elle out, and he tells her that he was and is way out of her league. After charming her over dinner, Cam goes for a hard sell on a work pitch. He is just using her.

Elle focuses on planning the reunion. They run into an issue with the venue and have to beg the school principal (who is also a mall Santa.) He grants their wish to have the reunion in the auditorium.

It is finally time for the reunion, and Cam shows up at Elle’s house with a corsage and asks her to join him at the dance. Kim and Sam are thrilled that Elle is getting everything she wants. Then an article posts online that Zigg is closing.

Devin sees that Elle is upset and talks to her on the stairs. He is very charming in this scene and makes her feel better. She realizes that Devin is better than Cam. Devin sees her talking to Cam and gets the wrong idea. Before Elle can clear things up, she has to make the reunion speech. Then the power goes out! The curse returns!!!!

In the dark, all the side plots make up. Katie and Jay rekindle their romance, and Sam admits that she was looking for validation in others she gets a morning show job.

The lights come back up, and Elle continues with her speech. She talks about how you can’t control the future. She publicly asks Devin Ryan to dance with her. He shows up, and they slowly dance together. (What is there a throuple with Katie and the Gays?)

Devin and Elle kiss before the music picks back up, and everyone parties. Devin makes it rain paper snow this time.

Side Note

The thing about the class president planning the reunion? If so, someone needs to tell my high school class president. We haven’t had a reunion ever!

Minority Report: Alma, Jay, Katie, James, Bryce,
