Synopsis (via Lifetime)

Alyssa wakes up in a home that’s not hers and discovers a dead body. With no memory of how she got there, and no idea of who he is, Alyssa tries to piece together what exactly happened the night before.

Recap/Wine Thoughts.

Alyssa wakes up from a one-night stand in a beautiful home beside a beautiful man. She is hungover and confused as flashes of the night before play hazily in her mind. Instead of sneaking out, Alyssa says goodbye to the man only to find he is dead! After checking his wallet, she rushes outside and calls her lawyer/friend Cindy.

At Cindy’s office, Alyssa tries to recount what happened. Cindy goes into lawyer mode and gets as much detail as possible, but Alyssa can’t even remember how she got there. Alyssa did look in his wallet and learned he was a tech billionaire, Fletcher Doyle. Cindy reminds her friend of a hike they did and tells her to be brave.

Detective Allen and Detective Keller report to the crime scene and are stumped. The doors weren’t locked, and security cameras were off. The body was found with a single stab wound to the heart. They think it could be a love affair gone wrong.

Hot detective alert!

Alyssa goes home to shower and continues to have memory flashbacks. She checks her phone and sees that her messages and calls have been removed. She retraces her steps to see if anyone recognizes her. A waitress at the bar talks to Alyssa and confirms she was there with Fletcher Doyle. As she is talking, Detective Keller notices her in the restaurant. He gets her name from the bartender, and now Alyssa is a suspect.

While getting some rest with her laptop and wine, Alyssa falls asleep. (wait, is she me!?) An intruder breaks into her home and does something shady, like planting the murder weapon.

Detective Keller follows up on the break-in and then starts asking questions about the murder. Alyssa has zero chill and sneaks out of her house through the bathroom door, making her look HELLA guilty.

Alyssa calls her friend Roger, who looks a lot like Fletcher Doyle; she tells him that she is being framed for murder and asks him to let her stay with him. Roger used to be Cindy’s boyfriend and has been secretly hooking up with Alyssa. (Or so they think.) Alyssa’s hiding out doesn’t last long. She puts on a hat and goes out into the world.

They won’t recognize me now!

Now, properly incognito, Alyssa buys a burner phone and calls Cindy. She wants to speak with Fletcher Doyle’s wife, Serena, and prove her innocence before police officially announce her as a suspect. She also tracks down the waitress and learns that Serena was also at the bar that night and got into a heated argument with Fletcher Doyle.

Detective Keller is also onto Serena Doyle. He questions her after finding the murder weapon obviously planted in Alyssa’s underwear drawer. I’m unsure what happens in this scene, but Serena is rockcocking some trendy jeans.

She had to have brought these from her personal wardrobe

Alyssa and Detective Keller work together. Cautiously.

Roger and Alyssa are sleeping when an intruder breaks in again! They think they scare the intruder out of the house, but one hides in the kitchen. TWO intruders are after Alyssa. Alyssa tells Roger that it is too dangerous for her to stay with him and goes on the run again.

Detective Keller talks to Roger about the break-in and asks him to tell him where Alyssa is. Roger awkwardly covers for Alyssa. Then he is attacked in his home.

Roger did not to deserve to go down like that!

Meanwhile, Alyssa gets Serena’s address from Cindy. Serena agrees to sit down and talk. (There is soooo much talking in this movie!!!!) Serena makes a midday drink and invites Alyssa to move to the terrace. Alyssa notices a verbal slip-up when Serena talks about the men who attacked her, not MAN!!!!

Alyssa talks to Detective Keller to tell him everything she knows, but their conversation is interrupted by Cindy, who is in full lawyer mode. Cindy drags Alyssa from the police precinct and takes her to her house to rest.

Early in the morning, Alyssa looks through some old photo albums and finds a photo of Cindy with Serena! They are working together to frame Alyssa for murder. Cindy catches Alyssa sneaking out and says they should probably have a talk.

I’ve never seen college girls drink from non-plastic cups!

Cindy tells Alyssa that she met Serena when they were in college. (Sorority sisters.) They plotted the murder to ensure Serena was the beneficiary, and Alyssa got what she deserved for sleeping with Roger. Cindy admits to drugging Alyssa and deleting the phone messages.

Detective Keller reviews some footage from the restaurant and sees Cindy at a nearby table. He rushes to save Alyssa.

Alyssa doesn’t need saving because she has pepper spray. She sprays Cindy and Serena and tries to get away. Cindy almost strangles Alyssa, but Alyssa grabs a knife and stabs Cindy.

The police arrive and tell Alyssa that Cindy and Serena will be fine… in JAIL!

Side Note/Stray Thoughts

Minority Report: Alyssa, Maguire, Officer Willis, Bartender,

Roger dying so unceremoniously, rude!

Casey Waller was great, wish she had a better script to work with!
