The story of a man who called himself “Amish Stud” and plotted with his mistress to murder his wife, to the horror of his conservative Amish community.
The Amish Stud (Played by TV movie stud Luke Macfarlane) fishes is his normie buddy, Jeremiah, who has a cell phone and wears fashionable clothes. Jeremiah gets a phone call because Eli, the Amish stud’s wife, is dead!
Detectives investigate the murder and plan to with the Bishop, who only worries about God’s Jurisdiction. The Amish are not welcoming to the officers except to Barbara’s sister, Abigail. (She wants JUSTICE!)
Flash to 1999, where a teen Barbara prepares for the Rumspringa with her sister Abigail, where they see what the outside world is like before committing fully to the Amish lifestyle. Eli encourages the teens to break the rules. He flirts with Barbara while talking about pie as a double entendre! They begin a courtship, much to the dismay of sister Abigail. Eli is breaking the Amish rules from the get-go when he takes a picture of her, and she threatens to break his camera.

In modern times, the detectives question Eli since he is Barbara’s husband. He conveniently owns the gun shop, and Barbara was shot in the chest. The detectives don’t rule Eli out as a suspect, but they will have to rely on town gossip without evidence. Abigail tells them about a woman Eli was having an affair with, Barb Raber. (He seeks sex elsewhere, because the Amish don’t do BJs?) The detectives find more women that Eli had affairs with. Laura Kelley tells them that he was the love of her life. (She moved him in after a bar hookup and he lived with her for two months. She broke up with him after seeing his dating app… with the name AMISH STUD!)

Eli continues to date multiple women online, but he has to return to his Amish family without a place to live and any money. He tries to live the family life but has snuck in one of those slidey uppy phones. (I used to have a red and white one from Samsung, and I loved it.) He thinks he is sneaky, but Barbara is onto him, and when she asks for help, the Bishop tells her to “Be a better wife so he can be a better man.” (WTF! That is so messed up.)

Barb shows up at Barbara’s funeral, and the women of the town are shocked she would show her face. (It is an open secret that Eli and Barb are having an affair.) Detectives go to question her next. Barb is married to a man named Eddie. Barb is cagey and claims to just drive Eli around. She deflects them to a woman named Tamara Jones.
Tamara encourages Eli to divorce his wife and won’t sleep with him until he does. He helps cover her bills and spends time with her as friends. He is in love with her and wants what he can’t have. Eli uses Barb to do favors for him in exchange for sex. Barb doesn’t feel worthy of being with a stud like Eli and willing helps him keeps in contact with Tamara with a secret phone.

Eli spends more and more time with Tamara and even asks her to kill his wife so he can be with her. Tamara thinks he is joking. Next, he works on Barb after Barbara catches them while they do it in the gun shop. Barb is more than willing to do whatever she has to to continue to be with The Amish Stud, including murder. They research on an old desk top computer for ways to kill somebody, FAST. They plan to poison Barbara, and Barb is excited to let their love out into the open. (Eli, is like, “yeah sure, whatever.”)

Abigail finds a diary that Barbara kept that includes all the indiscretions and sins Eli did against her. It is the evidence they need to produce a timeline. Then they talk to Jeremiah, who tells them that Eli was texting with someone during the fishing trip on Barb’s secret phone account. The detectives search her phone records and arrest Barb. Elis is also arrested.

Back in the pre-murder times, Barbara threatens to take her journal to the Bishop and expose Eli for the trash that he REALLY is, which only ups the urgency of the murder. Eli calls Barb and tells her to kill his wife by whatever means. Eli even suggests BLOWING UP THE HOUSE WITH THE KIDS INSIDE?!?!?! (His reasoning is they will go to heaven, so that it will be fine!)

Barb calls her husband and asks him to lie and be her alibi. He doesn’t help her because he feels deeply betrayed. Barb is brought in for questioning, and the text evidence against her is damming. The internet searches don’t help, either. She cracks under the pressure and admits to shooing Barbara Weaver.
In court, Eli testifies against Barb and she is horrified. Eli pleas to conspiring to his wife’s murder, but claims that he seduced Barb into doing anything for him because she was in love with him. When asked why he didn’t get a divorce, he says that murder seemed easier.

Abigail also testifies that she feels Eli killed Barbara long before she was shot. He beat her down and degraded her spirit. The jury finds Barb guilty of aggravated murder. Eli continues to flirt with with ladies to get what he wants, he is up for parole in 2024.
Side Note/Stray Thoughts
Minority Report: Laura Kelley, Detective, Lawyer,
This was one of the better Amish themed movies on Lifetime. It shows so many details of Amish traditions, interacting with the outside world, and problems with the treatment of women. Very well done.
Luke Macfarlane is an absolute Lifetime Glow Up from the real killer.
